Singing unto God

#1
i'm really excited about a few things

first off minute 44-48 of this video really excites me:

https://sidroth.org/replay-glory-explosion-live/

julie is talking about the power of singing scripture, including what happens to your whole brain when you sing

i guess the only way for your whole brain to fire is when you sing

sid said that he noticed his prayers are amplified when he sings them

especially when he lays hands on people and sings prayers over them, rather than speaking

i have noticed that when i play the piano and sing my prayers i feel like i have broken through into an open heavens/reached the throne room of God INSTANTLY

God told me a couple months ago to sing our daily psalms rather than read it in our family devotion time (it's my job in family devotion time to do the reading of the psalms)

everyone is loving it

the battles in the bible were won by singing/playing musical instruments

the Glory of God fell when they sang the Lord is God His mercy endures forever in the temple

i just wanted to share

that's it

i'm singing my prayers and my scriptures from now on

and anything else i can think of getting away with singing

God Bless you my most dearest new friends

ps. i remember dr caroline leaf saying that singing/music playing opens up the amygdala and causes memories to imprint more powerfully

God bless you, Truthfrees;

Wow! Watching the video was very gentle spirited, enjoyable and a blessing. Open the Psalms and just sing the words with others or by yourself. Many times in my room I like to play my guitar and after singing a praise, go into a time of just "picking" my guitar with no time limit. It really brings the presence of God unto my heart.

Thank you for sharing!

Hi there,

Thank you for sharing your excitement. Enthusiasm breeds enthusiasm, and it has certainly reached my heart this morning, Truthfrees.

When I was part of a youth ministry, many moons ago, each week we sang the books of the Bible, and verses of Scripture together, and I remember them as a result.

There is a strengthening effect upon the Spirit, as verses like Ephesians 5:19 and Col.3:16 show.

I needed this word personally, today. I thank God for useing your words to encourage me.

In Christ Jesus

Hello Truthfrees,

I just wanted to share with you the way your sharing, as a pebble dropped in a pond causes ripples, has potentially blessed many others. For I have text messaged friends and relatives the essential message of your entry, and received further blessing by their responses in return.

Many thanks :D

Saviour, Lord, and Head.

Ephesians 5:19 (KJV)

Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

Not long after Jesus came for me, saved for me and baptized me with His Holy Spirit we began to attend a church that worshipped by singing 90‰ scripture songs. Oh we sang the old hymns and standards alright but words directly from the Bible, most from Psalms, were our primary songs. It's been many years since then but amazingly the melodies and words have never left us.

What is it then, I'll sing with the spirit and with my understanding saith the word.

If you have a scripture or scriptures you wish to commit to memory then make up a little tune for them. It's remarkable how easily they are remembered. You can be low in spirit and begin to praise and worship our savior-creator and be lifted to the very heavens on the anointing that will come. He is enthroned on the praises of His people and we are refreshed by the intensified presence of the Holy Spirit of God.

Peace be to you from God our Father and Jesus Christ our savior.

amen

awesome post

thank you for this excellent encouragement

i so agree with everything you said

in a similar manner to making up tunes and singing scripture, i started jamming with musicians and worshippers many years ago

we would just start playing/singing in tongues, learning to flow with the Holy Spirit and thus each other

it is amazing the beautiful new spontaneous songs that come up: Psalms 96:1-2

Psalm 96:1-2 New King James Version (NKJV)

96 Oh, sing to the Lord a new song!

Sing to the Lord, all the earth.
2 Sing to the Lord, bless His name;
Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.
