Social Ironies

This scripture comes to mind

Revelation 6:5-6 (NASB)

5" When He broke the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying, “Come.” I looked, and behold, a black horse; and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. 6 And I heard something like a voice in the center of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not damage the oil and the wine

Hello BibleLover, we live in a society that is being led about (most often unknowingly) by the whims of the ruler of this world, the prince of the power of the air. This has become increasingly obvious and painful to see in the last several years because, as it has been several times in the past, people don't seem to have a clue anymore about what the "truth" actually is, or that there is even such a thing as (black and white) "truth" 😳

It can be frightening to look back into fairly recent history, because we can see just how cunning Satan is, how he has all but caused the death of truth again in the hearts and minds of his people, and even (to one degree or another) in the hearts and minds of some of the saints 🙁

What we need is to pray that the Lord would cause more "Bible Lovers" to begin to appear again 😊

God bless you!!

Hello BibleLover;

So true in many other areas in these times but similar to the one you share.

1 Timothy 6:6-8, 6 But godliness with contentment is great gain, 7 for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. 8 But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content.

There was a time when all I had to eat was a can of pork and beans. Another time we had tuna sandwiches and lemonade with only a few bucks left until payday. All this was while in America and no regrets.

God bless
you and thank you for sharing.

In the OP, rather than point out the sickness in politics and dead beats feeding off our taxes, just call it, like NObama did, ""Helping them to get ahead!" By changing the wording, everything is made more palatable, and therefore downplay the real malady:
