We have no record that God the father ever told Jesus how to be a good son, why? It was not necessary because the father totally, completely, and fully trusted the sons nature birthed in him, which came from the father, therefore there was no need to tell him how to be a good son.
If the father had told Jesus what works he wanted him to do then the results would have been no different then the result of what the law produced through works.
The works that Jesus did were the results of him simply living his life through his inborn father in you – nature.

It is my understanding that all the father did was send his son into the world he never told his son what to do when he got into the world. The father trusted his nature in His Son, incredible indeed is this.
Although all of this is true there is still a problem with the born-again believer. The problem is in the believers soul – mind because it is not compatible with the Christ in you nature in the born-again believer. The born-again believer can claim the Christ in you nature and use it as though it is his or her very own nature.
So what needs to be done with the problem of the incompatible mind? The believer needs to claim the mind of Christ and use it as though it is their own mind. This is what Paul calls reckoning.
How to accomplish this is the real issue at point. Mind renewal is truly the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

When the believer is born-again the old mind remains just as it was prior to the new birth. This means that the mind still functions by the knowledge of good and evil. The new born believer has a new nature that cannot function by, in, with come from, or through the knowledge of good and evil.
The new nature birthed in the believer can only function by, In, with, from, and through grace revealed knowledge.
At this point it becomes quite obvious that the born-again believer needs to know all about our father's grace.

This requires what Paul calls revelation and this is where the ministry of the Holy Spirit begins with the believer. In essence this means that the born-again believer can now only function properly through the revelation of Christ in them.
Living life on earth, in heaven, or the fathers house should be lived by the inborn Christ in you nature in total harmony and compatibility with revelation in the believers mind.

Jesus did nothing in of and by himself .

Secondly by practice we learn good from evil"!
Before we are saved and oft just after we still walk as to what is good in our own eyes . For man looketh on the appearence .
But we are to learn to walk after the Spirit whereby we learn to see things as God would have us see them and thus what is good and evil in HIS eyes.
This is by the scriptures and by the Spirit and we are LED by the Spirit who is in us .

Reading your posts, my mind went to the verses above, which says that reading and applying the Word of righteousness to our lives, on a regular basis, exercises the senses, so that we will instinctively distinguish between good and evil.

Our Lord as a child learned obedience like any other child, submitting Himself to His parents authority; He was also well versed in the Scriptures, as we see in Luke 32:46,47: the learned men being astonished by the questions He asked, and the answers He gave to them.

I believe that we, who are God's children, in Christ; have come to faith initially, by hearing and believing the Word of God, and we grow in grace and truth also by continuing to 'hear,' and 'believe,' and by the 'application' of God's word. Revelation comes through the work of the Holy Spirit, by means of the written Word. This is the way the mind is renewed,

I stress this, because I have noticed that some believe that revelation can come apart from God's Word, That makes me wary because, that belief, leaves the believer open to error, and the whims and vagaries of his own imagination, emotion and feelings.

Reckoning on the finished work of Christ, and on the completeness of our identification with Him, in His death,burial, quickening, resurrection and ascension to God's right hand. Reckoning also on the assurance we have that when He appears in glory we too will appear with Him: is a stupendous act of faith obedience, like no other that has gone before I believe.

Like as Christ now patiently waits until all enemies be put under His feet, we too wait and look for His appearing.

We to whom such amazing grace was extended, lost gentile sinners as we were, have been given a glorious hope, which will be enjoyed far beyond all heavens. Yet here, and now, while we wait and look for His appearing, we are being observed by principalities and powers in heavenly places, they are our sphere of witness :-

'Unto me,
who am less than the least of all saints,
is this grace given,
that I should preach among the Gentiles
the unsearchable riches of Christ;
And to make all men see
what is the fellowship of the mystery,
which from the beginning of the world
hath been hid in God,
Who created all things by Jesus Christ:
To the intent that now
unto the principalities and powers
in heavenly places
might be known by the church,
the manifold wisdom of God,
According to the eternal purpose
which He purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:
In whom we have boldness
and access with confidence
by the faith of Him.'

What are they seeing I wonder?
Do they see us, walking in faith obedience? Honouring the God they themselves revere?

Jesus in his "divine" nature knew everything, in his "human nature" the Father taught him, which was the divine nature in him.

Joh 8:28.. Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.

I agree totally with you Chris. There is a whole denomination of people who accept and even want to believe the revelations of men and look for and expect them to be prophets. They continue to follow these men and women even when there predictions do not come true.

They say they follow the Word of God, but the Word of God says that when a person gives prophecies which do not come true, they are to put to death.

Deut. 18:20..........
But if there is a prophet which speaks proudly a word in my name which I have not commanded him to speak and that speaks in the name of other elohiyms (false images of Him),THAT PROPHET SHALL BE PUT TO DEATH".

Isn't it interesting that we pick and choose the Bible verses we like and ignore the ones we don't??????

Contrasting 'the mind of the flesh' with 'the mind of the spirit':-

'The mind of the flesh' or The Carnal mind' (Romans 8:7,8; Genesis 6:5; Isaiah 55:8), is at enmity with God, it cannot please God. The mind is the source of thoughts, and thoughts are the source of actions. So this aspect of the old nature is the most serious, isn't it?

'The Mind' ('Nous') - (in, Romans 7:23,25) denotes the new nature. It is used in contrast to the flesh, as the word 'spirit' is, because it denotes that which is 'inward', and 'invisible'. This mind, serves the law of God (Romans 7:25) and delights in it (Romans 7:22). So 'the law of the mind', is put for, 'the law of God' in (Romans 7:23).
