Over the past few years, I wrote this collection of songs. My illness may prevent me from doing anything with them. Therefore, I am them here. I hope that some day they will bring glory to God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. I tried to load the file, but that didn't work. So I'll paste them.

Song Of The Day

By David Louton
This song is to the tune of “Poor Wayfaring Stranger”
Father God Show Me The Way

Father God, show me the way
You are the potter I am clay
Mold me and make me in your image
Father God, show me the way

Father God, you know me will
And you know where I have failed
Never give up working on me
Make me the man I aught to be

Father God, show me the way
In green pastures make me lay
Through this life be my guide
Let me in your love abide

Father God, bless my soul
All my weaknesses you know
Father, help me overcome them
Father God, show me the way

Father God, fill me with love
And with wisdom from above
Father, fill me with your goodness
Father God, show me the way

Father God, thy kingdom come
Let thy will on earth be done
In the name of Christ, I pray
Father God, show me the way

Song Of The Day

Sing to the tune of “You Make Me Feel Brand New”

Father God Have Your Way

My God, have your way, my God
This I pray, my God
Let thy will be done, my God
Father God, you know the way things aught to be
And you know what is right for me
When I was blind, you made me see
Only you cared, when I needed a friend
Delivered me from all my sin
How could I repay the precious love you gave to me

Have your way. Father God, have your way
In Jesus name I pray, Father God, have your way
In Christ name I pray, Father have your way

My God, whenever I am insecure
You lift me up and make me sure
You give my hope back to me
Father God, all through this life be my guide
Let me in your love abide
I know you’re always on my side
Bless my soul! You know my thoughts and my deeds
And you know my every need
Give to me this day The daily bread, I pray
MY GOD!

Have your way. Father God, have your way
In Jesus name I pray
Father God, have your way
In Christ name I pray
Father God, have your own way
What more can I say
Father, have your way

Song Of The Day
By David Louton
Sing to the tune of “It’s Only Words and Words Are All I Have”

Hold Me Close To You Good Shepherd

Hold me close to you, good shepherd
And always, let me in your love abide
Make me lay down in green pastures
And always, through this life be my guide

Your love is all I really need to keep me satisfied
Good shepherd, hold me close to you
And let me, in your love abide

Hold me close to you, good shepherd
While I try to serve you every day
Never give up working on me
While I try to show others your way

Hold me close to you, good shepherd
In times when I feel so all alone
I know the comforter is with me
And will be till the day you take me home

Your love is all I really need to keep me satisfied
Good shepherd, hold me close to you
And let me, in your love abide

Song of the day
By David Louton
Sing to tune of “Legend of Edmond Fitzgerald”

A Ballad Of Prophecy

The word of God said; Jesus rose from the dead
And he lives with his father in heaven
All those who believe, for their faith will receive
The gift of eternal salvation

Abraham knew, and the prophets did too
That the kingdom of God is coming
Only God knows when the trumpet will blow
But the signs of the time are showing

The people of God have now reclaimed their sod
And a Zionist nation their building
Their fighting a war, and there’s rumors of more
To the holy land that may be coming

What will Christ say to you on judgment day
Well done, or I never knew ya
Turn not away, from the wards I must say
For tomorrow is not promised to ya

Look to the cross. There’s no need to be lost
The blood of the lamb will save ya
Turn from your sin, and be born again
Put your love and trust in Jehovah

Song of the day
By David Louton
This one was inspired by listening to the Sean Hannity program
Sing to tune “If You Could Read My Mind”

Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled

Let not your heart be troubled. Come to me. I will give you rest
My yoke upon you is easy. To the master give of your best
Turn not away from this call. You must hear what I say
He loves you. This I know
And no matter where you go, inside your soul, his spirit will abide

Let not your heart be troubled. Trust in God and all will be well
Go to this world that is dying. Of his great salvation tell
Be of good cheer. Jesus will be with you. Have no fear
You’ll never be alone
And when your work on earth is done; the victory won, you will be glorified

Let not your heart be troubled, even when this world brings you down
This cross that you must carry, one day will become a crown
And on that day, every knee will bow and every tong shall say
That Jesus is the lord
Go forth to the ends of earth, and tell the good news of his holy word

And no matter where you go, inside your soul you will have his spirit
When your work on earth is done; the victory won, you will be glorified

Sing to tune of “I Remember Finding Out About You”

Bless My Soul Gentile Savior

Bless my soul gentile savior, I pray
You are the life, and the truth, and the way
Let thy will be done here on earth, as it is done above
And let me always praise thy name. Thy perfect law is love

Bless my soul gentile savior, I pray
Be my best friend now, and on judgment day
Lead me not into temptation. Let me abide in you
While I try to keep my mind right, and all I say and do

Bless my soul gentile savior, I pray
In your blood wash all of my sins away
Fill my heart with your perfect law, and with amazing grace
Thy kingdom come. JESUS BRING IT ON! I WANT TO SEE YOUR FACE!

I wrote this song for my dad. Some of you may remember that he was song director at Meadow View, a long time past. He always thought the music to the song “Pass Me Not Oh Gentile Savior” was beautiful, and that the expression gentile savior was accurate. But, he would never use that hymn in any of his song services. He reasoned that Jesus never passes anyone by. It is we who pass him by. So, with him in mind, I borrowed the wards gentile savior.

Song of the day
By David Louton
Sing to the tune of “Sweet Caroline”

Sweet Lamb Of God

Just when I think time are getting tough, I think of what Christ did for me
He gave his life. He shed his precious blood. He died on the cross, at calvary
Hands; nail scared hands, crown of thorns. On the cross, Jesus died

Sweet Lamb of God, you washed all my sins away
I’m born again; now I’m ready judgment day

Friend, if you’re lost, you don’t know what’s missin; you don’t know what true love is
Look to the cross, and become a Christian, and forever you will live
Grace; saving grace, God is love, God is truth, God is life

Sweet Lamb of God, you washed all my sins away
I’m born again; now I’m ready judgment day

Children of God don’t waste time. There’s a lot of work that we must do
Spread the good news; tell everyone you know, what the savior did for you
Lord; Lord of Lords; King of Kings; Prince of Peace; LAMB OF GOD!

Sweet Lamb of God, you washed all my sins away
I’m born again; now I’m ready judgment day. OH GLORY!

Song Of The Day
By David Louton
Sing to the tune of “Hang On Sloopy”

“Bless The Lord, Oh My Soul”

Bless the lord, oh my soul! Bless the lord, oh my soul!
Bless the lord for all that’s good
Bless the lord because you should
Bless the lord with songs of praise
Bless him for his perfect ways

Bless the lord, oh my soul! Bless the lord, oh my soul!
Bless the lord, he has a plan
For each woman and man
Bless the lord, thy kingdom come
Bless the lord, thy will be done

Bless the lord, oh my soul! Bless the lord, Oh my soul!
Bless the lord for all he’s done
Bless him and his only son
Bless the lord for saving grace
Father make this a holy place

Song Of The Day

Sing to the tune of “If I could Fly I’d Lift You Up”

You Give Me Love

When this world brings me down
I know just what to say
There will be a crown
Waiting for me one day
And I know this is true
You give me love that lifts me up
You put the Holy Spirit in my life
Oh, you give me love that gives me hope
For eternal life in paradise

When darkness surrounds me
You will show me the way
You always hear me every time I pray
And you fill all my needs
When I am alone
And no one’s around to care
My friends are all gone
But I will not despair
Cause, I know this is true
You give me love that lifts me up
You put the Holy Spirit in my life
Oh, you give me love that gives me hope
For eternal life in paradise

Come To Me

I will be there; I’m always around
To you I will bring
The peace that passeth understanding
