Storms
John 6:16-21
Jesus Walks on the Water
16When evening came, his disciples went down to the lake, 17where they got into a boat and set off across the lake for Capernaum. By now it was dark, and Jesus had not yet joined them. 18A strong wind was blowing and the waters grew rough. 19When they had rowed three or three and a half miles, they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the water; and they were terrified. 20But he said to them, "It is I; don't be afraid." 21Then they were willing to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the shore where they were heading.
This summer , we all have experienced storms of nature . As I reflect about our storm ( Tornado ) I am reminded of God's hand in nature and God's hand in the storms of my life.
Yesterday in church we were reminded about the disciples who went into their boat , never anticipating a storm . When the sea became rough and the wind started blowing --- they were afraid.
It seems when the disciples were separated from Jesus bad things happened . Just as in our own lives -- when we think we can do it on our own .... we fail . And we separate ourselves from Him .
The disciples saw Jesus walking on the water and coming near the boat. ( John 6:19 )
The point here is Jesus is the same today ... He is able to calm the storms in our lives . If we give it all to Him , we can be assured , He will walk with us on our stormy waters of life .
It is easy to rest in Christ's strength when the sea is calm but I am asking Jesus to remind me of His Power when I am caught in the next storm in my life and loose sight of His Truth .
Col. 3:3 ..... Your life is hidden with Christ in God .
Thankyou Jesus for calming every storm of our life as we walk with You . I am so comforted that You can do anything , anytime .
