Symbolism of the Evergreen Tree
Scripturally, we are taught in Hosea 14 (NLT) that God compares himself to a green fir tree... EVER-green and EVER-present to fulfill our eternity, as Believers, through Him.
We see this comparison especially in Hosea 14:8 (NLT), "O Israel, stay away from idols! I am the one who looks after you and cares for you. I am like a tree that is always green, giving my fruit to you all through the year."
Many non-Christians will say that a 'Christmas tree' is from pagan idol origins. I would just say to those persons that a Christmas Tree is NOT worshipped by Christians; it is simply a reminder of our God and his EVER-lasting covenant with those who believe upon Him and accept His son, Jesus Christ, as our EVER-present Messiah.
