Good morning, brothers and sisters;

I was reading in the Thoughts For Today Forum, Autumn 2025 Tent Revival Presentation

The first thing that popped in my mind were the tent revivals that take place in the South of the United States, or other respective countries.

Has anyone been to a tent revival and what was your experience?

It would be real interesting to know.

God bless
you all.

Yes sir.

I was saved at a Tent Revival. The evangelist was a man by the name of E.J. Daniels and it was in Winter Garden Fl. in the 1950's.

Back in those days, those tent revivals were a BIG DEAL and the whole community turned out every night usually for 3 to 4 weeks.
These days a revival will only be for 3 or 4 days if that!

He preached hell so hot my eye brows were chinged. He said......If you do not want to go to hell, come on up here and let me show you how to miss it. Well, I did not want to go to a place that he talked about so I ran to the front.
There were about 30 people who came forward and I was one of them.

Morning Bob,

Yes I know about tent meetings. A man called Oral Roberts came to Melbourne Australia in the `50`s and had tent meetings. My father had the wooden benches made at a sawmill out of town. I went to some meetings and saw people healed. Amazing. But some people did not want Oral and his meetings and set fire to the tent. It was put out but Oral and the team left. Sad.

Later in the `80`s the fellowship I went to had tent meetings. It was more about receiving a `word` from the Lord then.

Hello Major and Marilyn;

Wow!
Thank you for sharing. I've never attended a tent revival. The closest I attended was a Billy Graham Crusade inside an arena and event center in Daly City (border of San Francisco)

To think a tent revival Marilyn shared was not welcome by setting fire to it. Sad.

God bless you both.

Bob
