The air that I breath

The air that I breath
I’m walking with God
But it seems like a whoopee cushion
Going to church on Sunday
Singing praises, listening to preaching
Even the coffee after the service,
And I leave pumped up
Fully inflated,
Riding high!
Then there’s always one,
Someone who comes along
And
Thththththth
Sits on your high
Of soaring high with God will last til next Saturday
But doesn’t even last the day
Leaving me totally inflated
Struggling til next Sunday

Go to the annual conference
a week of full on,
Salvation, Damnation to a world that is going to hell
Singing, dancing all preached out
Feeling like a bright shiny new balloon
So filled with the Holy Spirit they had to tie a string to my leg to keep me from floating off!
But months later day by day
The air slowly escaped
I started to deflate
now I’m sat no need of a tether in a heap in the corner of the room,
Not enough breath to
Exhort
the one who gave me breath!

Being tossed about like a balloon at a party
Having so much fun
Patted high into the sky
First left then bounced off the wall
all joined in,
I was the centre attraction
Then the hounds of ego, pride and self importance came bouncing in
burst my bubble deflated my balloon
Trampled me on the floor
in pieces no use to anyone
They partied on,

Oh Breath on me
Breath of Like
Flow through my life
Keep me inflated
With your Spirit
Take me out of this
Worldly vacuum
Sucking the life out of me
Be the air that I breath,l
Holy Spirit
Come flow through me!
