The Art of Maxfield Parrish - A Great American Illustrator

Maxfield Parrish was a prolific American artist and illustrator during the late 1800's and the early to mid 1960's before his death in 1966. Parrish, born on July 25, 1870, was known for his fantastical, colorful paintings which featured many distinct subjects, from mythological characters to simple advertisements that were rendered beautiful beneath his hand. Parrish's paintings have a distinct flat-and-broad look to them, mixed with exquisitely rich jewel-toned colors, flowing fabrics and magical landscapes and foregrounds.

Good choice of paintings ..

i liked .. the symmetry concepts that had pots on either side .. and flowers .

the face of the trees .. seem to indicate the heart of the people in those pictures .
