Daniel 6:13 (NLT)
Then they told the king, "That man Daniel, one of the captives from Judah, is ignoring you and your law. He still prays to his God three times a day."
 
Daniel 6:14 (NLT)
Hearing this the king was deeply troubled, and he tried to think of a way to save Daniel. He spent the rest of the day looking for a way to get Daniel out of this predicament.
 
Daniel 6:15 (NLT)
In the evening the men went together to the King, and said, "Your majesty, you know that according to the law of the Medes and the Persians, no law that the king signs can be changed."
 
Daniel 6:16 (NLT)
So at last the king gave orders for Daniel to be arrested and thrown into the den of lions. The king said to him, "May the God, whom you serve so faithfully, rescue you."
 
Daniel 6:17 (NLT)
A stone was brought and placed over the mouth of the den. The king sealed the stone with his own royal seal, and the seals of his nobles, so that no one could rescue Daniel.
 
Daniel 6:18 (NLT)
Then the king returned to the palace and spent the night fasting. He refused his usual entertainment and could not sleep at all that night.
 
Daniel 6:20 (NLT)
When he got there he called out in anguish, "Daniel servant of the living God! Was your God whom you serve so faithfully, able to save you from the lions?".
 
Daniel 6:21, 22 (NLT)
21. Daniel answered ''Long Live the King!

My God sent his angels to shut the lions mouths so that they would not hurt ne, for I have been found innocent in his sight. And I have not wronged you, Your Majesty.
 
Daniel 6:23 (NLT)
The king was overjoyed and ordered that Daniel be lifted from the den. Not a scratch was found on him, for he had trusted his God.
 
Daniel 6:24 (NLT)
Then the king gave orders to aarrest the men who had maliciously accused Daniel. He had them thrown into the lion's den along with their wives and children. The lions leaped on them and tore them apart before they even touched the floor of the den.
 
Daniel 6:25 (NLT) - 25 Then King Darius sent this message to the people of every race and nation and language throughout the world:

“Peace and prosperity to you!
 
Daniel 6:26 (NLT) - 26
“I decree that everyone throughout my kingdom should tremble with fear before the God of Daniel.
For he is the living God,
and he will endure forever.
His kingdom will never be destroyed,
and his rule will never end.
 
Daniel 6:27 (NLT) - 27
He rescues and saves his people;
he performs miraculous signs and wonders
in the heavens and on earth.
He has rescued Daniel
from the power of the lions.”
 
Daniel 7:1 (NLT) - 1 Earlier, during the first year of King Belshazzar’s reign in Babylon,[a] Daniel had a dream and saw visions as he lay in his bed. He wrote down the dream, and this is what he saw.
 
Daniel 7:2 (NLT) - 2 In my vision that night, I, Daniel, saw a great storm churning the surface of a great sea, with strong winds blowing from every direction.
 
Daniel 7:4 (NLT) - 4 The first beast was like a lion with eagles’ wings. As I watched, its wings were pulled off, and it was left standing with its two hind feet on the ground, like a human being. And it was given a human mind.
 
Daniel 7:5 (NLT) - 5 Then I saw a second beast, and it looked like a bear. It was rearing up on one side, and it had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. And I heard a voice saying to it, “Get up! Devour the flesh of many people!”
