Journal The Cabin

Ok... so .... Louie Magooey is arriving this morning... Benny Bear... Bip... and his imaginary friend Gennee ( Gerry ) are at an altitude that is UNREACHABLE = SAFE and SOUND.

There was a terrorist come into my garden last night and made away with my little cucumber plant that had just peeked
its head out of the ground. HOW RUDE!!!! I will plant some more seeds as they only took about a week or less to germinate.

No one has disturbed my celery.... and NO corn as of yet.

Going to have fun with the dog... Lots of cuddles... lots of kisses... and lots of belly rubs... OH my goodness.

Yesterday I went in the lake for the first time since May 16th... due to our very cold snap after that... and OH my goodness.... I looked at the water temperature ... It was listed as being 15 degrees C. I was SO excited because
12 and above is considered FRESH water. I forgot to look at the OUTSIDE temperature.... but noticed it was a bit
on the chilly side... HOWEVER ... I braved it... and took my dip...
When I returned in the house... I took a nice hot bath.... and THEN looked at the weather.... GOOD GRIEF... It was only 3 degrees C..... HAHAHAHA. No wonder my plunge was NOT pleasant.

Good morning, In Awe of Him;

Do you have a lake in the back of your house?

Your post reminded me of the time in 1991 when Hazel planted potatoes inside our retaining wall. New potatoes actually sprouted from the eyes of the buried potatoes. She also loved all the pretty flowers growing so fast.

One night either possums or raccoons pulled the baby potatoes and ate them. The next morning she was bummed. So I went out and started cleaning the mess and pulled all the pretty flowers. She got upset and asked me why I'm destroying her flowers?!? I told her these aren't flowers but American weeds. lol!

I explained that the weeds can be deceiving and look like pretty flowers but they actually smother (choke) other plants.

Since that summer she never planted potatoes or grew American weeds, ever again!
(Whew!)

I found these in the kitchen.... I wonder whoever could it be that made these???
Clearly a couple of the snails caught some owl possession virus. You can see it in their EYES..........

My heart SINGS loudly when you are FUNNIER than I.... HAHAHAHAHA
Honestly.... and SERIOUSLY.... that "owl possesion "skit... will remain the FUNNIEST thing I have EVER seen.... unto ETERNITY.

I have hired a security firm to keep guard over the property... due to Mr. Moose RECOGNIZING that a few of our visiting SNAIL friends had a suspected mild owl possession infection. Thankfully... our own snail family are ALL FINE.

I have hung a HUGE MIRROR by the front door... Please take the time to LOOK into it...before entering the Cabin to VERIFY your identity. THANK YOU. :D

Yesterday was quite the day.... Louie Magooey arrived at 9 am... and was back home with Margaret by 10 am. Like literally... here and gone within an hour. The poor guy was sick. WE don't know what is wrong with him... but he is not eating and there is blood in his stool. Freaked me right out. I said my goodbyes... just in case. I did not say anything to Margaret about that... because she was already out of sorts with having to come back and get him. She did assure me that I had made the RIGHT decision in doing that. I woke up to a message saying that she slept with him on the couch... and that he did drink a bit of water this morning. This is always a painful journey... when our pets are either sick or getting ready to go over the rainbow bridge.

Did my usual morning rounds of the garden and YEP..... something was back to totally dig up and demolish my little budding cucumber plants... I have NO idea what it is about those little leaves they seem to enjoy... but that is the SECOND time I have discovered this... and so..... THERE will be NO cucumbers in my garden this year. EVERYTHING else seems untouched. VERY STRANGE.

I have a dentist appointment this afternoon at 3:30.

HAPPY MONDAY everyone.

Happy Monday evening :)
Might we all enjoy a nice quiet evening together in the cabin.
I dislike the dentist, so a delay is always a good thing to me.
Here in the states a visit usually costs about what I earn in a month.

Have a great week y'all. Maybe I will try to have a beach day soon.
My olive skin needs some sunshine so I dont scare my reflection in that mirror...

It's Friday already...

I have to confess that I have been BUSY doing NOTHING.... HAHA. I have been spending much of my time outside... enjoying the side of the house where my beautiful garden is.
My landlords are building me a little patio.... nothing fancy... simply a FLAT pad... made with left over cement... wood and whatever else can be found. My landlord's are BRILLIANT that way. Anyways.... It will give me a spot to place my beautiful RED beach chair... It was the first day of using that chair... that GOD showed up those 4 years ago.

My chair is unfortunately STILL in my neighbour's garage... ( I store it there for the winter ).The husband passed away and she chose to move into an independent living community.... but the family KEPT the homestead.
Usually the family checks in on the property OFTEN... but over the winter and spring... I have not noticed anyone coming to the house.
I am certain that probably this week-end.. there will be someone coming in...as the family with kids and grandkids is LARGE... and so someone is usually around come the summer months.

I woke up to a notice that my glasses were ready for pick up and this is the email I sent back.
I always have these types of STATEMENTS... just to see what kind of reaction I get. :D

Good morning beautiful staff of Eyes on Main.
So excited to receive my first pair of CATARACT coke bottle glasses..... HAHAHAHA.

I am anticipating a nice leisurely walk this morning to go pick them up. I guess they require an appointment for fitting... so hopefully... they can squeeze me in before lunch.... and OH my goodness... I will be able to SEE CLEARLY.. and SHARPLY.... It's the SHARPLY part that has been missing.... well... I guess also the CLEARLY part. HAHAHAHA.
I do have good SHAPE recognition.... when it comes to LARGE objects. HAHAHA.

OK... SO.... I missed Momma Duck.... AGAIN.... She is gone with her babies... they all hatched except 1 and I'm not sure why she left one egg behind.... but this is the second year a duck has nested in our neighbourhood. Last year... it was my neighbour across... and this year... she chose the neighbour that has my RED BEACH chair... ( beside ).
I'm sure she plans her get away to the lake for when NO ONE is watching. All I know is that I missed it. I would LOVE to see that parade of momma duck with her NEW babies. ANYWAYS.... Nature is COOL.

This is my update for Friday June 6th. WOW... 6 months at the CABIN... OH JOY!!!!!

OH.... update on Louie.... HE made it through WHATEVER it was that he had... That was NOT fun to go through tentatively saying GOOD BYE. I guess it's just NOT his time for the RAINBOW BRIDGE.

Love you all.... SNACKS and FIZZY DRINKS have been REPLENISHED.... and .... AND... there is a picnic lunch in the fridge. HAPPY WEEK-END EVERYONE.

And here he is with a visitor we have had for about a week now. She just showed up in our shed one day.

We would take her in, but someone might have something to say about that:

This is Shakespeare, our extra fluffy cat.

We named the orange one O. J. for now, as she is orange and she has shown a propensity to "murder" bunnies out in our yard. Otherwise, she is a great lovable cat. We will have to find someone to take her eventually, unless we can get the two of them to become friends....

YEP..... THIS review of the cat is BRILLIANT.... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I am thinking... I am going to get you to write my obituary. HAHAHAHAHAHA

WOW.... once our kids graduate... It's only a blink and then they are gone. Your role will shift ever so slightly to a more enjoyable and FRIEND-LIKE position of quiet cheering on... mixed with LOTS of prayer.

This morning is a very exciting one... as I have a date with a huge golden doodle named Haggis.
He belongs to my neighbour three houses away on the other side of the lane.
Over the last few months... it has been made apparent that I have a not so secret CRUSH on Mr. Haggis.
About a month ago... I knocked on his door and a strange lady answered... I barged in and informed her
that I must come in to SEE my buddy. No questions were asked... but it was at that moment that I established
the UNDENIABLE REALITY of my love and devotion.

The owners are leaving for about 4 hours this morning and wondered if I might be willing to check in with the dog and spend about an hour with him at the mid-way point of them being gone.
I informed my neighbour that I would be STALKING her and will be entering her house 3 seconds after the car leaves the driveway and I will STILL be in the house when she returns for 1 pm ( ish ). HAHA. :D

These neighbours have a nice patio area where apparently Haggis loves to hang out and so.... DA SHEEP is gonna be sitting in the sun... drinking coffee and talking to Haggis.
