Journal The Cabin

There is a thread about God's coffee house https://christianforumsite.com/threads/gods-coffee-house.59195/

and I was thinking about the foods we eat. As a lad I didn't worry about salt or sugar intake. But naturally, I don't know why, but I didn't over do both.

I hope that helped as we all get older. Now I'm conscious to use Stevia instead of sugar for my coffee and other drinks.

In January 2025 I recently learned my blood pressure increased and I didn't know why. So I started taking meds since January and have a digital blood pressure monitor. Both have helped lower my blood pressure.

If I have a watermelon, apple or orange it's ok. If I have a hamburger once every two weeks it's ok. I don't feel we have to be so strict. Our bodies are empowered to handle excess sugar or salt but we also must exercise wisdom and discernment to manage not overdoing it or the intake of all foods.

I have never eaten rabbit, possum, moose, snake or camels. I know others have but my only meat is cow, fowl and fish.

God bless you all.

Bob

WELL WELL WELL.... Here we are.... and here I am... It has been a very busy time BEHIND the SCENES. AS you will all notice... Bob sent in a PROFESSIONAL CLEANING CREW.... and what a wonderful job they have done to make everything look shiny and new. The snails got to head out to family camp for the week... and not sure what Mr. Moose was up to... but I know he was up to something.

First of all... and before I begin.... I need to confess that I have not been myself these last few weeks. I'm embarrassed to admit that in the last while... I have been CLOSET MUNCHING on a bad attitude. This led to a very serious infection of "self RIGHT " ous DIG-IN ation. If you know... you KNOW. It caused my tail to SWELL... which caused me to hallucinate and as a result.... I ended up biting a few folks. Thankfully... I did not pass on any owl germs. :D

Due to bobinfaith and Pastor Gary 's quick recognition of my symptoms... Paducah Luke was kind enough to air lift me to the meadow with his ski-doo so I could be SEEN and cared for by MY SHEPHERD.... He made me to lie down in green pastures... and He sent forth His best nursing team comprised of Mercy and Grace ( who are so amazingly tender and breath-takingly beautiful ) to wash over my infection with the heavenly balm of forgiveness.

Once stable enough to stand on my own....the SHEPHERD took me to the stream of living WATERS... and washed me clean of all the dirt and debris. Best car wash EVER.... and now I smell pretty. HA.

Getting caught up in things happens to EVERYONE... and even when those things are birthed out of a genuine concern... when left unchecked... a bad attitude will always LEAD to an INFECTION of self-righteous indignation... whether it be that we want to PROTECT someone or even ourselves.... when we try to take matters into our own hands... WITHOUT truly seeking GOD.... it never turns out GOOD. Just saying....

So... my Shepherd gave me a new collar... and OH boy... Mr. Moose is going to be SO JEALOUS!!!

I'm still taking a few days off ( so to speak )... but... I am going to take the time to work on some ideas for the CABIN.

It's difficult to maintain a run-on thread such as this... and actually keep it alive and INTERESTING.... not to mention... this is actually year #2 of what started as a JOURNAL.

I depend on EVERYONE to simply show up and share something... and that has worked so beautifully thus far... I just want to add a bit of EXTRA and at this moment... I have NO idea what that is going to look like.... but I'm going to try.

Anyways... this is me... checking in with my update... and I will be back on MONDAY.

I have some garden work to do... and it's FINALLY nice and warm here.

God bless you ALL. I love you all... I am GRATEFUL for you ALL.

~Love... DA SHEEP

How is your garden doing this year? My grandson is in charge of ours this year, he has harvested some hot peppers. The tomatoes are growing nicely but don't have any actual tomatoes just yet. It is going to be hot here today (103° F). I too will be taking the weekend off as we are going to visit my daughter and our grandchildren.

Some of my favorite quotes of "Da Sheep".

you have me thinking of pickled dinasour parts....
..
You can leave your "what-ifs" and "if-onlys" in the hands of the One who loves you and rules all things.
..
I don't usually like fuss... BUT... if a huge red fire truck can show up in front of your house and bring you flowers for all the neighbours to observe then a few balloons here and there isn't going to kill me. HAHAHA
...
So...by tomorrow afternoon ... I will be back to my old self.
...
After 4 days of intensive SLEWING....
...
It's what happens when you have stubbed your toe on the way to the bathroom... then proceeding to fall down a flight of stairs and then..... realizing that you are all OUT of coffee.
...
I think I murdered some of my tomato plants....
....
it's not polite to eat things you name.
....
The school of sorrow and suffering produces wisdom.
....
I am deeply... and sorrowfully ( not really ) sorry for thinking you were trying to pull the wool over my eyes.
.....
HAHAHAHAHAHA.... you made me spit my tea.

Oh my goodness.... like seriously.... You guys make my heart to smile ever so largely.

CranberryArtworks ... the cartoon you posted would suggest that you have been stalking me and were THERE. HAHAHA.... I laughed so hard and for a very long time. THANK you for your absolutely JOYFUL renditions of bringing the characters of the CABIN to life in ART FORM. I don't know how you do this magic.... which probably makes it more AWESOME in my opinion.

Big Moose ... I cannot believe you gleaned through all the posts to pick your favourite funnies. That is LOVE.... HAHA.
You my dearest Mr. Moose are like the big brother that I never had... and when the two of us get together.... as I like to say.... things happen.... You have helped me to keep the Cabin alive... and I am grateful.

thenami my sweet sister... I will take your NC beach sand ANY DAY. I love your little visits that are ALWAYS sprinkled with tenderness and genuine concern.

I am grateful to EVERYONE who has helped to keep this silly little journal thread alive. WE have our regulars and our visitors... and it's all so beautiful to me.

Dave F. ... I am having SERIOUS issues with my stupid camera. Thankfully... it's my landlord's who own a photo store a block from where I live that sold me the camera several years ago ( which I have since had serious buyers remorse due to the level of difficulty in maintaining it )..... so... I will have to go in this morning or early next week to get someone to re-set the settings. I have 3 times... taken pictures of my flowers and the garden and when I have tried to download them with my SD converter.... they are ALL videos rather than pictures... and so I have obviously pressed a button that is not allowing me to take straight up pictures. GRRRRRRR.... DA SHEEP is NOT electronically savvy

My garden this year is so beautiful. I have 9 large pots filled to overflowing with flowers... hues of blue.... purple... yellow... orange... and everything in between. It was worth all the turmoil and work of having to cover them (twice) ... to save them from frost. GARDENING seems to be a lesson of learning... I now understand why it's prudent to WAIT until the risk of FROST is over.

My garden plot has two lovely rows of celery which are looking absolutely divine.... all standing straight and tall.
I have the most beautifully fragranced mint growing but it has a tendency ( I'm told ) to take over the garden so I am making sure that the branches do not sucker and spread.( not sure if that is how to say it ).

I have planted corn .... and yellow beans... the beans are just starting to peek out... and nothing on the corn yet. I also have my tomato plants... ( two varieties ).... and some jalapeno peppers.

I want to thank you all for loving this little creature who has a strange sense of humour. HA.

All my love.... DA SHEEP.

So... I went to the photo store yesterday... and told my landlord's brother to please SHUT OFF and DISABLE absolutely EVERYTHING that could possibly get me in trouble. HA.

I just spent the last half hour saving a bunch of pictures that I took of my garden yesterday and well... I have no idea where they are... I cannot find them. I guess I saved them but did not download them... and I put them in the GALLERY but I cannot find the GALLERY now.

All that to say.... Y'all have to come in PERSON.... to see my garden. HAHAHAHAHAHA.

GOOD GRIEF!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and still...................... GOOD GRIEF!!!!!!

Mr. Moose at AQUA FIT class.
Bob said there were PB cups on the bottom of the lake.......they sure didn't taste like PB cups.......

Bob said there were PB cups on the bottom of the lake.......they sure didn't taste like PB cups.......
I don't even want to know what you were CHEWING. Like seriously.... NO TELLY DA SHEEP... KEEP it to YOURSELF...
Please avoid ingesting all things ANY THING... IN THE LAKE. GOOD GRIEF!!! You could have eaten someone's brother!!!!

Speaking of the lake... I have not been in since it's reached more NORMAL ( less cold temps ). HAHA.
I think by now... we should be at a more normal lake temp. Hold on.. let me look. YEP... 17 degrees C.
My first swim this year was May 18th... and although that may be normal for those living south of the border...
Here where I am in the north... that was relatively early.... The temp was 11.8 C.
We had an absolutely miserable May ( meaning the cold just would NOT let up )... and even into June... It's only been this last week that we have been experiencing hot weather.... including a VERY BAD storm in my area on Saturday.

45 minutes away from me... a tornado touched down leaving a lot of damage. One of our Provincial Parks has been severely damaged with fallen trees and completely WASHED out roads that lead into the park. The Park will likely remained closed for the rest of the season.... and they are dealing with having to rescue and airlift people out who were camping at the time of the storm.
It never ceases to amaze me how VIOLENT weather can be... and how MUCH destruction can happen in seconds.

GOOD NEWS in the GARDEN....
Has anyone else noticed that things seem to happen in the NIGHT TIME hours? My corn has all sprouted... I have 8 little baby stalks.... oh so cute they are... and.... AND.... I have 10 yellow bean plants that have all sprouted.
Everything is coming up roses. HAHA ( I think that means... everything is looking good ).

Uncle Hank and Aunt Helga update

1750673768064.png
Just look at Auntie Helga.... GOOD gracious... she has not aged a bit!!!

Uncle Hank has decided to take up photography.... Mr. Moose... Would you tell him that I will gladly donate my camera to a worthy cause? Honestly... I don't think I have ever owned such an IRRITATINGLY FRUSTRATING contraption in my life. Just sayin!!!
Anyways.... they are both fine.... and plan on enjoying a leisurely summer... showing up uninvited and unannounced at random people's cottages. They send all their love.

Note from Bert and Gert and the snail family.

The dental team from Slimey Snouts will be here on Wednesday for a complete check-up.
Please ensure that Frannie does NOT get a hold of ANY cosmetic products... especially lipstick.

Please avoid the snail sanctuary from noon to 6 pm on Wednesday. THANK YOU!

***Note to Mr. Moose.... Your friend Bruce the goose wants you to CHECK your messages... He has been trying to get a hold of you.... Seems he will be flying by in a few weeks... and he wants to spend the WEEK-end at the CABIN.
Love to all...... ~DA SHEEP
