I have NEVER heard this before."penny farthing"
bobinfaith I thought doves COO and owls HOOT!
I noticed this "penny farthing" has 3 wheels. Usually they're a two wheeler with a large front wheel. lol!
I have NEVER heard this before.
They were also very uncomfortable to ride. I believe the tires were solid rubber. You felt every bump in the road. The one in the picture is small. I have seen one, and it was huge. You fall off and you broke something.Good morning, In Awe of Him;
First of all, when I hear the sound of doves and owls I don't hear the c's and the h's.Second, I'm still half asleep!
!!
I'll ask my nephew today.
A penny farthing was invented in France and was a huge mistake. The front wheel was huge and history doesn't mention the countless accidents people had from falling off this bicycle. That's why it was a far thing from a penny. lol!
We have a WILD and I mean WILD wind storm happening. They are anticipating power outages.
Love ya all..... I'm hiding in my apartment... away from the BIG TREES.
I too LOVE listening to the sounds of the seasons.... My fear of the wind comes from having witnessed a micro-burst 25 years ago. I never was able to reconcile with my nerves during a wind event. It is what it is.... but I do LOVE to listen to the sounds of the seasons... including standing at the waterfront to WATCH the ANGRY waves. NOTHING can fall on me at the waterfront because there are no trees in the lake. HAHAHA.When I am at my cabin. I have small places to sit. It is very quiet except for the sounds of nature. And the trees make a groaning, and cracking sound in the wind. It is nice to just sit and listen. There are very few people around.
I dont care for strong winds, but they are what they are. Around these parts it is a sign of possible tornado activity.
Ive been dragged into the bathroom under the stairs on many occasions out of my daughter's fear.
She is like you; she hates the wind.
