Journal The Cabin

A mis-mash of a bit of everything....

First off.... Mr. MOOSE!!!!!! You seem to be on a ROLL these last few days.

Thank you for helping me cope with my little issue with owls. How kind of you to devote your time with such concern and consideration towards me. I have arranged for a friend of mine to come to the Cabin for a few days.... His name is Herbie!!! I told him you would just LOVE to spend some time with him. BRING him to your nice little GARDEN beside the SHED. He will like that.

And last but not least.... This is how much GOD loves you!!!

Coming from a place where DEPRESSION was with me as a constant companion..... THIS message is SO IMPORTANT.

The depressed NEED your loving PRESENCE... and sometimes that means just sitting and weeping with that person. Sometimes... it means making them some meals... or doing their dishes and laundry ( quietly ).

IT NEVER MEANS..... flinging scripture at them.... correcting them... or "kicking them out of it".

I literally did the "ELF"exclamation!!! when I heard this... and busted out my happy dance moves....
Remember in ELF when he finds out that SANTA is coming..... and he jumps up and down insisting that... I KNOW him.
Well... elevate that by about 100... .and that was me when I heard this. HAHA

I noticed this "penny farthing" has 3 wheels. Usually they're a two wheeler with a large front wheel. lol!

I have NEVER heard this before.

Good morning, In Awe of Him;

First of all, when I hear the sound of doves and owls I don't hear the c's and the h's.
🤔 Second, I'm still half asleep! 👺!!

I'll ask my nephew today.

A penny farthing was invented in France and was a huge mistake. The front wheel was huge and history doesn't mention the countless accidents people had from falling off this bicycle. That's why it was a far thing from a penny. lol!

They were also very uncomfortable to ride. I believe the tires were solid rubber. You felt every bump in the road. The one in the picture is small. I have seen one, and it was huge. You fall off and you broke something.

Thankfully my corn is right beside the fence and so I was smart enough to put some
thick string around and tie the corn in one bunch around the fence ( very loosely ) but
to keep them from breaking. I noticed some silks just starting so YEAH.... I am really
hopeful that I will get some little cobs.

I managed to get 4 cucumbers out of my ONE cucumber plant.... I finally picked the last one
yesterday.

The wind seems to be dying down a bit.... I looked at the lake and oh my goodness... It's
spectacular to see such huge waves. I call them the ANGRY waves and they are my
most favourite ones.

I haven't heard any LOUD crashes.... the wind always seems to be the worst by the waterfront
so we always seem to get hit the hardest. The Christian radio station went off line 2 hours ago
and it's still not back on so.... something happened there.

Anyways.... I HATE the wind... Just saying....

We have a WILD and I mean WILD wind storm happening. They are anticipating power outages.

Love ya all..... I'm hiding in my apartment... away from the BIG TREES.

When I am at my cabin. I have small places to sit. It is very quiet except for the sounds of nature. And the trees make a groaning, and cracking sound in the wind. It is nice to just sit and listen. There are very few people around.

I too LOVE listening to the sounds of the seasons.... My fear of the wind comes from having witnessed a micro-burst 25 years ago. I never was able to reconcile with my nerves during a wind event. It is what it is.... but I do LOVE to listen to the sounds of the seasons... including standing at the waterfront to WATCH the ANGRY waves. NOTHING can fall on me at the waterfront because there are no trees in the lake. HAHAHA.

I have learned to recognize different things that most people would miss because I am a listener... I can tell the moods of the birds around here.

I dont care for strong winds, but they are what they are. Around these parts it is a sign of possible tornado activity.
Ive been dragged into the bathroom under the stairs on many occasions out of my daughter's fear.
She is like you; she hates the wind.

I don't know how to get over this fear.... It's the ONLY weather related fear I have... so I simply accept that like you stated... It is what it is. HA
