The Church In Smyrna And The "ten Days"....

The church in “Smyrna” meaning “myrrh” will hear the Word of Truth and will receive it with joy. But the receiving of the Word will come with persecutions by those of the churches who will not hear and believe in it. They will persecute any who will hear and receive what the Spirit is saying. The devil shall cast us into “prison” so to speak to test us and our faith in what we will hear the Spirit saying. But the church in Smyrna will overcome and keep the death of Jesus which is a sweet fragrance of life.

Revelation 2:8-11 KJV
(8) And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;
(9) I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
(10) Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
(11) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

When we receive the persecution by those of our very own, we are to keep the death of Christ in mind and NOT return evil for evil. We are to be faithful unto death….His death. He was dead and is alive…and so if we die to sin (evil speaking) when we are persecuted, we shall LIVE His Life. His Life shall appear in our mortal flesh.

We are to be faithful unto death by bearing about the dying of the Lord Jesus ALWAYS when persecuted by other “Christians” for our faith in the Word of Truth as spoken in the Spirit so that the LIFE of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

2 Corinthians 4:7-11 KJV
(7) But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
(8) We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
(9) Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

(10) Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
(11) For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

He endured the contradiction of sinners against Himself….and we are to consider and look to Him while following in His footsteps. We shall suffer persecution from members of our own household….our own churches…our own family. Jesus was persecuted by His very own brothers and it will be no different today. But we are to remember the cross….the sacrifice of Jesus…and die to sin by not rendering evil for their evil when persecuted.

Hebrews 12:2-4 KJV
(2) Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
(3) For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
(4) Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

When we will be persecuted by our very own, we are to follow His example….His steps….and revile not when being reviled and threaten not when threatened. We are to be faithful unto “death”….being dead to sins as He died on the cross so that we should LIVE unto righteousness. We are to always sow to the Spirit when being reviled by the unbelieving church goers in this coming time.

1 Peter 2:21-25 KJV
(21) For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

(22) Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
(23) Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

We are to be dead to sins......the preaching of the cross....so that we should LIVE unto righteousness.

(24) Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
(25) For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

We are to suffer for righteousness’ sake and be not afraid of their terror neither be troubled of those who will persecute us for our faith in the revealed Word of Truth that they will not believe in.

Revelation 2: (10) Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

Who is he that will harm us if we are followers of that which is good? We are to suffer patiently with good works the persecution by our very own as they will speak evil of us….as evildoers. We are to fear none of the things which we shall suffer....fearing none of their "terror" neither be troubled.

1 Peter 3:13-18 KJV
(13) And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?
(14) But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;
(15) But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
(16) Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
(17) For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
(18) For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

The unbelieving church goers (the assembly of Satan) will resist and oppose any that will receive the Word of Truth in this coming time. They will persecute those who will receive the Word of Truth but we are to be faithful unto death…His death upon the cross…as we are to be dead to sins…evil speaking against those who will persecute us for our faith in the Truth.

But the preaching of the cross to those who are perishing is foolishness but unto us which are saved (wholly in mortal body, soul and spirit) it is the power of God.

1 Corinthians 1:18 KJV
(18) For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

We shall be persecuted by our very own as our faith shall be tested. We are not to think it strange concerning the “fiery trial” which is to try us and our faith. We are to rejoice as we are made partakers of Christ’s sufferings.

1 Peter 4:12-19 KJV
(12) Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
(13) But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
(14) If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
(15) But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.
(16) Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
(17) For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
(18) And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

We are to suffer according to the will of God and commit in the keeping of our souls to Him in well doing….for we shall be persecuted by our very own. We glorify God by maintaining good works toward those who will persecute us.

(19) Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

We shall have tribulation by our very own for “ten days”. The ten days takes us back to when Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah were tested for "ten days".

The word “pulse” means “to sow something” and shows us that we are to sow after the Spirit when being tested by persecution...being proved "ten days" by persecution. The “water” is the water of life that we are to drink.....drinking in and being filled with what the Spirit is saying and not being filled with the wine of wrath.

Daniel 1:11-16 KJV
(11) Then said Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah,
(12) Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink.

We are to keep the dying of our Lord Jesus Christ by dying to evil speaking when we are tested by the persecution of our very own so that they life of Jesus shall be made manifest in our mortal bodies.

(13) Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king's meat: and as thou seest, deal with thy servants.

We are to fear none of those things which we shall suffer for the devil shall cast us into a prison so to speak so that we may be proved and we shall have tribulation “ten days” but we are to be faithful unto death so that He will give us a crown of life.

(14) So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days.

If we keep the dying of our Lord Jesus, His life shall be manifested in our mortal flesh and those who will persecuted us shall then be ashamed. Daniel’s countenance appeared "fairer and fatter in flesh" that those who did eat of the portion of the king’s meat. Those who will be ashamed will be those who have eaten and drank with those who will behaved evilly in their envy, strife and wrath.

(15) And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king's meat.
(16) Thus Melzar took away the portion of their meat, and the wine that they should drink; and gave them pulse.

Babylon’s children will beat upon His servants and to eat and drink and be drunken in their wrath, pride, envy and strife. They will not sow to the Spirit (eating “pulse”) but rather will sow after the flesh while reaping decay in their flesh. They will not appear fairer and fatter in flesh as compared to those who will sow after the Spirit and have the life of Jesus appearing in their mortal flesh.

Luke 12:45-46 KJV

(45) But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
(46) The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

If we eat “pulse” as Daniel did…that is, “sowing” to the Spirit, we shall reap His life appearing in our mortal flesh. But those who will eat of the meat and drink the wine of Babylon will sow to the flesh and reap decay in the flesh.

We shall suffer for “ten days” by those who will do such things but we are not to be weary in well doing for we shall reap His life in due season if we faint not. Our mortal flesh shall appear “fairer and fatter” than those who will sow after the flesh in their persecutions and then they will be ashamed of their evil behavior.

Galatians 6:7-10 KJV
(7) Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
(8) For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
(9) And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
(10) As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Again, we are to sow after the Spirit (eating "pulse") so that we may reap His life appearing in our mortal flesh in the here and now. Let us not eat of the things of the children of Babylon.

Romans 8:10-14 KJV
(10) And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
(11) But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
(12) Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
(13) For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
(14) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

If we partake of the sufferings of Christ, God shall exalt us in due time. The adversary shall persecute us seeking whom he may devour. But if we do not return evil for evil, the “second death” shall not harm us. The tongue is a fire.

1 Peter 5:6-11 KJV
(6) Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God,
that he may exalt you in due time:
(7) Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
(8) Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

We are to resist the devil and die to sin while standing steadfast in the faith. We shall be persecuted by our very own but we shall have company in our persecutions for others shall hear and receive what the Spirit is saying….drinking in the water of life. And after we have suffered a while (ten days), He shall make us complete and establish and strengthen us.

(9) Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
(10) But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

(11) To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

We are to be followers of God and walk in love. The church in “Smyrna” meaning “myrrh” are a sweet fragrance of the sacrifice of Christ in them that are saved for they will be faithful unto the death of Christ for they will not return evil for evil when persecuted by the church people who will perish in their sins….their evil speaking. They will reap decay in the flesh for eating of the meat of Babylon and drinking the wine of her wrath. We are to triumph in Christ ….thanks be unto God.

Ephesians 5:1-11 KJV
(1) Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
(2) And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
(3) But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
(4) Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
(5) For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
(6) Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

We are not to be partakers with those who will eat of the meat of Babylon and drink her wine of wrath. Instead we are to eat “pulse”….which means “something sown”. We are to sow of the Spirit and reap the fruit of the Spirit which is all goodness and righteousness and Truth so that we may PROVE what is acceptable unto the Lord. His LIFE SHALL APPEAR in our MORTAL FLESH to the SHAME of those who had eaten of Babylon’s things.

Again, we shall PROVE what is acceptable unto the Lord for our mortal flesh shall appear "fairer and fatter" as His life shall be made MANIFEST in the here and now to the shame of those who reap after the flesh. He will exalt us in due time....it takes time for this to happen as we shall endure persecution for a while so that His wonderful life shall appear in our mortal flesh as they decay in the flesh.

(7) Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

(8) For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

(9) (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth)

(10) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

My brother, I wish I knew what it was that you are trying so hard to tell us. You have obviously put a lot of effort into your very long post but I have to be honest and tell you I do not know what it is.

If it is that God's people have been and are and will be persecuted, then I agree with you.

If we are to stand and resist the devil, then I agree with that also.

As for the "Ten days" you mention, most all Bible authorities point out that there is an allusion here in the Rev. by John to the well known and established "TEN" persecutions and that there is also an allusion to the 10th persecution under the Roman ruler Diocletian. That particular persecution lasted exactly TEN years according to Bible history. The expression "TEN DAYS then seems to signify a limited time period.

The persecutions by our own people of which I am talking about has yet to come to be. They will come when the Word of Truth is revealed and preached for all to hear….which will cause a division among His people…among Christians: separating the believing Christians (of what He has to say) and unbelieving Christians who will react negatively towards the Truth. We will find out who serves God and who really does not.

2 KJV
(51) Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:
(52) For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

The Lord comes to deliver us from those who are preaching and living in error of the Truth. He comes to open up the Scriptures to our understanding so that we may know Him who is true….and those who will hear and believe in what He has to say shall be saved.

We are to behave as obedient children and not react toward what we hear with wrath, opposition, evil, envy, strife, and pride. We are to be “sober” and not “drunk” with the wine of wrath towards what is said. We are to be holy as He is holy.

1 JV
(13) Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
(14) As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
(15) But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
(16) Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

But there will be many in the churches that will hear His words and not believe in this coming time. The unbelievers (who call themselves “Christians”) shall persecute the believers for their faith in Him and His words. These things are yet to come.

The message to the church in Smyrna is for this coming time….for all of His people who will hear and believe in His words and keep the sacrifice of Jesus as a sweet fragrance of life. We are to endure the persecution (being put in a “prison” of persecution) by those who we once fellowshipped with. Jesus was persecuted by His VERY OWN people. Likewise, we also shall be persecuted by our very own people. No servant is above the Master…as they treated Him, they will treat us. We keep His sacrifice by doing as He did: not rendering evil for evil as He hung on the cross for our sins.

These things have not come to pass yet, but the time is coming soon. These are prophecies….speaking of things to come so that we are not tripped up by them when they do come to be. We shall suffer things by our own “countrymen”….just as Jesus did….just as His disciples did. But we are to walk worthy of God who calls us into His kingdom and glory….keeping His sacrifice.

KJV
(11) As ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father doth his children,
(12) That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.

We are to hear and receive (BELIEVE and DO) the Word of God preached in Truth….and not as the word of men. Men are preaching their own private interpretations today and lead MANY into their denominations of envy and strife and hatred of one another. They are preaching themselves and not our Lord Jesus Christ.

Many are perishing because of being led astray by false prophets as the LIFE of Jesus is not being manifested in their flesh. They are being led down the broad way to the destruction of the flesh. They put aside the commandment of God…..to have love for one another…. so that they may keep the traditions of men which only bring forth envy and strife….and DEATH. The end of their things always leads to death. We have many “church” cemeteries full of good church-goers as evidence that the traditions of men do not redeem any one. Many have gone to "hell"....that is, the GRAVE...as their flesh has been destroyed by the enemy so that their spirits are saved. They have suffered loss.

When Jesus opens up the Scriptures to our understanding, we are to hear and believe and lose the private interpretations of fleshly-minded men and separate from those who will not believe. What covenant do the believers have with unbelievers (unbelievers who call themselves “Christians” and go to “church”)? Many will hear His voice but not receive the Word of God spoken in the Truth for it will not conform to what they have been taught by religious-sounding men all of these years. They would rather hold on to the old and reject the “new” ….what they will hear…. in their wrath.

(13) For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.
(14) For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews:
(15) Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men:

They will fill up their sins as they will persecute us "ten days". They will fill up the measure of their fathers who also behaved in an unrighteous way towards the prophets of our Lord.
(16) Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.

The church in Smyrna will be those who will hear the Word and believe with joy and will suffer persecution by those whom they once went to church together with. The tribulation and persecution comes from their own household. Yet, we are not to be “offended”….that is, tripped up by the “stony places”.

1 KJV
(20) But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
(21) Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

We are to have the eyes of our understanding enlightened by His knowledge which we shall hear….and we shall suffer reproaches and afflictions by those of our own churches who will not believe in this coming time. A prophecy yet to come.

H JV
(32) But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions;
(33) Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions;
and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.

"Heaven" is the "air" in which His words travel to our ears and the Word gets planted in the "good earth"...the heart. We are to dwell in "heaven"...in what we hear with our ears....being born from "above". The ears are above our hearts and it is the ear which shall hear His voice from heaven as preached by His servants. He that has an ear, let him hear.
(34) For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.

The Life of Jesus shall be manifested in our own mortal flesh if we do not cast away our confidence as we shall be persecuted for believing in what we hear with our ears.

(35) Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
(36) For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
(37) For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

We are not to draw back because of the persecutions that will come by our own church members for believing in His Word of Truth. Let us not fear what they have to say. What can man do to us if God is for us? He shall save our souls…..the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Our souls shall have tribulation by those who will persecute us….but the Lord shall save our souls and we shall all rejoice in this coming time instead of suffering at the hands of those who will not believe.

(38) Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
(39) But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

When we will be persecuted, we are to always sow to the Spirit no matter what so that we may receive a crown of life. That Life is in the here and now and NOT after we “die and go to heaven” as universally taught. Jesus comes so that we may have LIFE NOW. He came into this world so that we might have LIFE NOW and have it more abundantly.

The “ten days” refers back to Daniel who was “proved” or tested for “ten days”. He ate “pulse”.

The Hebrew word means “to sow” or “something sown”. In other words, we are to sow after the Spirit and bring forth fruits of righteousness in the face of persecutions.

Others will hear the Word and will instead eat of the portion (“meat”) and wine of Babylon. They will sow after the flesh in their wrath, pride, envy and strife in opposition to what will be preached by Him through His servants. They will fill up the measure of their fathers….as they will follow the path of all those who had persecuted and killed the prophets of God.

Those who will sow after the Spirit…..the “pulse”….shall reap His LIFE appearing in their mortal flesh. And those who will sow after the flesh shall reap decay in the flesh. We, who will endure the persecution, will reap His life in our flesh and they who will persecute will reap decay…the breaking down of the body…. as their mortal bodies will perish away to the grave….. “hell”. They will die for and in their sins....evil speaking...so that their spirits are saved. When the mortal body dies, our sins are forgiven and left behind as the spirit goes back to God who gave it.

KJV
(11) Then said Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah,
(12) Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink.
(13) Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king's meat: and as thou seest, deal with thy servants.
(14) So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days.

The LIFE of Jesus shall manifest in our mortal flesh in the here and now. Daniel’s flesh appeared (the manifested life of Jesus ) “fairer and fatter” than all of the children which did eat of the portion of the king’s meat.
(15) And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king's meat.
(16) Thus Melzar took away the portion of their meat, and the wine that they should drink; and gave them pulse.
(17) As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

Now at the “END OF DAYS”…..

(18) Now at the end of the days that the king had said he should bring them in, then the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar.

We are not to be “drunk” with the wine of wrath (the wine of Babylon) when we hear the Spirit speaking. Instead, we are to HEAR and be FILLED with what the Spirit is saying...receiving it with joy and thanksgiving. Hear what the Spirit is saying and OVERCOME our own thoughts and ways.

KJV
(18) And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

Again, the LIFE of Jesus shall be manifested in our body…..our MORTAL FLESH. We shall be persecuted by our very own “countrymen” but NOT DESTROYED. We are to be faithful unto “death”….His death…as we shall not render evil for their evil….their threatening with threats….their vilification with vilification. We have this treasure in the EARTHEN VESSELS so that the God’s glory is to be displayed for all to see….for it is the power of God only that will keep us standing in the here and now. The works of the flesh do not save us.

1 KJV
(7) But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
(8) We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
(9) Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
(10) Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
(11) For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

We keep the sacrifice of Jesus (the sweet smelling fragrance of life) by not rendering evil for evil unto ANY man and always following that which is good. Jesus suffered the cross and did not revile when they reviled Him.

1 JV
(15) See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
(16) Rejoice evermore.
(17) Pray without ceasing.
(18) In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Let us hear what the Spirit is saying today and not “quench” what we hear.

(19) Quench not the Spirit.

Let us not despise “prophesyings” ….for the Lord opens up the Scriptures to our understanding so that we may know what is to come for His church…and that includes persecutions by our very own people who will not believe in what they hear the Spirit prophesying.

(20) Despise not prophesyings.
(21) Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
(22) Abstain from all appearance of evil.

We are to abstain from all appearance of evil when we hear the Spirit speaking to us. We are to behave with good works when we hear His voice….so that we be found blameless unto the coming (presence) of our Lord Jesus Christ who will speak to us through His servants….the “brothers”… sent by Him.
(23) And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
(24) Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
(25) Brethren, pray for us.

We are to greet all of the brothers who will be sent by Him to preach what they hear the Spirit saying with a “holy kiss”….showing love in word and deed towards them. Do not despise what they have to say….the prophesying. Do not quench what they have to say as they speak what they hear the Spirit saying. We are to give thanks to our God who feeds us with His knowledge so that we may know Him who is true.
(26) Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.
(27) I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.
(28) The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. The first epistle to the Thessalonians was written from Athens.

His sheep will greet and receive the “least of His brothers”. Those who will preach His words shall be persecuted by many. They will “thirst” after a welcoming response. They will “hunger” to be received by those they speak to. The sheep will NOT beat upon His servants but will welcome them and receive them while the goats will think that the Lord delays His coming and will beat upon His servants with malicious words and evil deeds.

He comes with all of the “holy angels” with Him. That is, He comes speaking the true sayings of God which are holy messengers. These are not winged beings in a fantastical scene but the true words of God spoken in the Spirit. These words will be spoken by those servants (the least of His brothers) that are sent by Him. These words of life and spirit shall provoke a response in men towards what they will hear and towards those who will preach it. Some will hear and behave and do good before Him while others will obey unrighteousness because they do not agree with what they hear because of pride, greed, wrath, etc.

KJV
(31) When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
(32) And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
(33) And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
(34) Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
(35) For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

(36) Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

(37) Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

(38) When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

(39) Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

(40) And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

(41) Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

(42) For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

(43) I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

(44) Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

(45) Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

(46) And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Wheelz............I have tried to encourage you to give shorter responces but it is clear that either you do not want to or can not do so.

No one can take the time to read so much info. You are overpowering us with words and as much as I would love to communicate with you, I do not seem to be able to do so.

I will however say to your comment of..........

"The “ten days” refers back to Daniel who was “proved” or tested for “ten days”. He ate “pulse”."

I can not agree with that thought.

I am very confidant that Rev. 2:10 is referring to the persecution of Jews in Israel during the Tribulation Period.

If you look it up you will find that there were 10 persecutions (days = time period).
Nero, Domitian, Trajan, Antonius, Severus, Maximian, Decius, Valerian, Aurelian and Diocletian = 10.

Also, Diocletian's persecution lasted 10 years.

Way, way, way tooooooooo loooonnnggg.

I didn't read it all so the only thing I will comment on is where you say,

The persecutions by our own people of which I am talking about has yet to come to be.

I don't know where you are living, but it has come on me, I've been kicked out of most of the churches here for simply asking, "Show me that in the Word?"

So with that in mind, how can you deny John 1:14?
