The constant defense of nostalgia and refusal to move on truly annoys me

Hello Big Moose;

Did they show Dr. Who in the US?
Tom Baker was the only Doctor that I watched back then. He was perfect for the role.

I thought nostalgia was for old people lol

I am not old (yet).

The only time it annoys me is when someone ten, twenty, thirty years older starts riffing on things I never grew up with that I have no idea about. It just feels like they are being silly and stuck in a timewarp!

Like when my dad complains there is nothing 'new' being played on the radio, but by 'new' he means songs from the 50s that he hasn't heard before. lol

It feels a bit silly for men in their 70s to be listening to songs about being a teenager in love. But thats what 50s songs were all about. I just felt they were a bunch of hormonal teenagers let loose after the war having to repopulate the world.

The amount of dystopian books about a bunch of teenagers surviving after the end of the world is disproportionately high...

usually its either some pandemic, or nuclear holocaust, or maybe a government big brother takeover. Did everyone have the same idea?
