The hour of trial.

The hour of trial.

CHAPTER 7
1 Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the summer fruits, as the
grape gleanings of the vintage: there is no cluster to eat; my soul desireth
the first-ripe fig.
2 The godly man is perished out of the earth, and there is
none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every
man his brother with a net.
3 Their hands are upon that which is evil to do
it diligently; the prince asketh, and the judge is ready for a reward; and the
great man, he uttereth the evil desire of his soul: thus they weave it
together.
4 The best of them is as a brier; the most upright is worse than a
thorn hedge: the day of thy watchmen, even thy visitation, is come; now
shall be their perplexity.
5 Trust ye not in a neighbor; put ye not
confidence in a friend; keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in
thy bosom.
6 For the son dishonoreth the father, the daughter riseth up
against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; a man’s
enemies are the men of his own house.
7 But as for me, I will look unto Jehovah; I will wait for the God of my
salvation: my God will hear me.
8 Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy:
when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, Jehovah will be a light unto
me.
9 I will bear the indignation of Jehovah, because I have sinned against
him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring
me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness.
10 Then mine
enemy shall see it, and shame shall cover her who said unto me, Where is
Jehovah thy God? Mine eyes shall see my desire upon her; now shall she
be trodden down as the mire of the streets. Micah

51 Think ye that I am come to give peace in the earth? I tell
you, Nay; but rather division:
52 for there shall be from henceforth five in
one house divided, three against two, and two against three.
53 They shall
be divided, father against son, and son against father; mother against
daughter, and daughter against her mother; mother in law against her
daughter in law, and daughter in law against her mother in law.

4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body,
and after that have no more that they can do.
5 But I will warn you whom
ye shall fear: Fear him, who after he hath killed hath power to cast into
hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
6 Are not five sparrows sold for two
pence? and not one of them is forgotten in the sight of God.
7 But the very
hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not: ye are of more value than
many sparrows.
8 And I say unto you, Every one who shall confess me
before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of
God:
9 but he that denieth me in the presence of men shall be denied in the
presence of the angels of God.
10 And every one who shall speak a word
against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that
blasphemeth against the Holy Spirit it shall not be forgiven.
11 And when
they bring you before the synagogues, and the rulers, and the authorities,
be not anxious how or what ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:
12 for
the Holy Spirit shall teach you in that very hour what ye ought to say.

38 And if he shall come in
the second watch, and if in the third, and find them so blessed are those
servants.
39 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in
what hour the thief was coming, he would have watched, and not have left
his house to be broken through.
40 Be ye also ready: for in an hour that ye
think not the Son of man cometh.
