Bro. Eli Soriano Appears on Italian TV Show, S.O.S. Sesso

Published: March 15, 2010

On the first day of the three-day International Thanksgiving on Saturday (March 13), Members Church of God International witnessed the appearance of MCGI Presiding Minister, Bro. Eliseo Soriano, on an Italian talk show: S.O.S. Sesso. Bro. Eli showed the video footage of the broadcast to MCGI congregants gathered in more than 875 locations across the Philippines and the world via the Internet.
The talk show on sex invited Bro. Eli to talk about the Bible upon hearing him preach in one of his Bible Expositions. "I will be guesting in a program in Rome 15 min from now. The topic is sex and religion," tweeted @BroEliSoriano to all his followers on Twitter at 5:38 a.m. on March 11 (PHT). The international evangelist appeared on S.O.S. Sesso via live video streaming and entertained the biblical queries of the program's guests with the aid of an interpreter.
"I speak always based on the Bible," began Bro. Eli as he answered the question of his Italian inquirer on whether premarital sex was allowed in the Bible. "If we are going to consult the Bible about sex, sex is a part of our being. And our sexual desire, which is part of our being, was given by God for the continuation of our being, for the procreation of our species," he continued.
After a brief explanation, he says, "The desire of sex comes as early as the teenage years. But in the Bible it is not permitted to Christians to have sexual relationships outside the bond of marriage," and then cites 1 Corinthians 7 1-2. In the end, both the inquirer and the program host thanked Bro. Eli for the biblical information and insights he shared with them.
Aside from the start of his radio and TV program, the Ang Dating Daan or The Old Path, two decades ago, his regular appearance on a religious show featuring local authorities on religion, Dis is Manolo and his Genius Family, helped establish his presence on Philippine airwaves as the resource person to ask when it comes to the Bible. To materialize that, he was awarded by his fellow preachers on the show, Most Outstanding Preacher of the Year for three consecutive times — a feat achieved by no one else on the show.

This week, after MCGI's three-day Thanksgiving, Bro. Eli will continue indoctrinating in English at Church coordinating centers worldwide via the Internet; after which, a Mass Baptism reaping thousands of souls simultaneously is expected. The last MCGI Mass Baptism yielded more than 3,500 souls, following the seven-session Mass Indoctrination in Filipino.
S.O.S. Sesso airs every Wednesday from 10 to 11:30 p.m. and every Sunday from 10 to 11 p.m. (CET) on Télévie CH65. (Posted by: Jay Arellano)

Here is a testimony of the Pastor of the Righteousness Adorned Zion Church in Nigeria (also a book author, and Broadcaster in Puget Sound Cable) about Bro. Eli

Here's a very short Bio of the host of The Old Path:

A day before he turned seventeen, his parents requested him to accompany them to a congregational gathering at a local church in Pasay City. During the worship service, Eliseo heard Nicolas Antiporda Perez preach about the true Church of God in the Bible. He was convinced that Nicolas Perez was God-sent.
Nicolas Perez’s preaching opened an interest in young Eli’s mind to read the Bible. Unknowingly, this began a new chapter in his life.
In less than a month, Eliseo approached Presiding Minister Perez and requested to be baptized. In April 7, 1964, exactly three days after his 17th birthday, Brother Eli was baptized in Seneguelasan, Bacoor, Cavite, becoming an official member of the Church of God in Christ Jesus.

With passionate zeal to serve the Lord in his heart, Eliseo joined the ministerial class a few days after his baptism. With the help of the ALMIGHTY GOD, he turned out to be an exceptional minister of Christ. As an epitome of dedication, sincerity, and hard work, he exemplified what Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy: “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity” (I Tim. 4:12, KJV).
In 1969, Presiding Minister Nicolas Perez granted solely Eliseo the title of “Minister,” making him the only other minister in the Church at that time. Clearly, the aging Perez was grooming his young protégé for a future responsibility.
Since then, the years of great trials and sleepless nights began. These years marked the onset of his many sacrifices, even to the point of receiving death threats. At a tender age of 29, Brother Eliseo led a rather small flock, mostly composed of members who were older than he was.

Sensing a divine call to share the divine Gospel of Jesus Christ, Brother Eliseo broached evangelizing through radio and television in the 1980s.
Faith in God, courage and perseverance were among the guiding forces which led him in approaching the Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation (IBC) Channel 13, and other radio stations in the country. He requested for available block time slots to air “Ang Dating Daan. (The Old Path)” The program showcased Brother Eli’s wisdom and eloquence in answering questions about the Holy Scriptures. With that, his rally against false and pretentious pastors and preachers came about.
Aside from hosting the phenomenal “Ang Dating Daan” in radio and television, Brother Eli authored “Leaving behind the Fundamental Doctrines of Christ.” This was his first and only book written in English published in the late 90s.
Brother Eli remains unfazed and continues in his promise to serve God and humanity. He devoutly shares and teaches the Wisdom in the Bible.
Here's the lyrics of the song that Bro.Eli was singing in this video:

Love letters straight from your heart
Keep us so near while apart
I'm not alone in the night
When I can have all the love you write

I memorize every line
And I kiss the name that you sign

And darling then I read again
Right from the start
Love letters straight from your heart

I memorize every line
And I kiss the name that you sign

And darling then I read again
Right from the start
Love letters straight from your heart
Love letters straight from your heart

it was in the paper . apparently some Catholic Churches in Europe boasted having them . i have this knack for remembering obscure stuff .
Thanks for that. I remember when I was still in College that some of my Catholic classmates (I studied at the premier catholic university of the Philippines [University of Santo Tomas]) were ALSO boasting that they also have the nails that crucified Christ! Now that's funny Mike! Haha!
