The place of the skull

The Place of the Skull

John 19:17 And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:
Jesus was crucified at the “place of the skull” signifying that our old way of thinking was to be nailed to that cross with Him. This is to be accomplished as we receive revelation from the Spirit of God in the Word of God. This revelation knowledge is the very mind of God given to those with the heart to receive. These are to replace their old views, thoughts and ideas with these truths and with Paul they can cry out “I die daily”!
Rom 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
The old way of thinking cannot and will not please God. We are indeed to be changed as we learn to walk in faith. We are no longer moved by circumstance. What we see, what we feel, what we smell, touch and taste- every way we perceive this world around us is to undergo a complete metamorphosis. No longer do we respond in fear for our God is our deliverer. No longer are we deterred by circumstance as we have now come into the realization that our heavenly Father is the Way Maker!
Eph 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
Be renewed in the spirit of your mind. It is as the spirit (or literally the life force imparted by God) entered Adam’s newly created body that he came to life as a living soul. It is as we allow the Spirit of God to impart revelation to our minds that we are really free to experience the most wonderful thing- abiding in the Vine, abiding in His very life, truth and walking in His freedom.
Now the child of God speaks to his mountain in faith at His leading and the power of God is manifest. Such a one brings the very life of God to bear on every situation he (or she) encounters. Just by walking in a room the atmosphere begins to change. Powers of darkness feel constrained and tend to flee from that one’s presence as these are vessels full of the very presence of the Living God Himself. Such a one faces any obstacles with absolute confidence in not his own abilities but in a sure knowledge that His God is more than able.
Such a one is free to move in the gifts of the Spirit and their lives exude the fruit of the Spirit. Walking ever closer to the Father’s heart and in deeper knowledge of the sureness of His Word these are the overcomers, the manifestations of the very life of Christ to a lost and dying world.
2Co 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
My friends, let us be the people who see not the mountains that stand in our path but let us be the ones who have our eyes fixed firmly on Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith.
Selah.
