The anointings from the Lord are no clear indication of the spiritual status of an individual. Consider the parable of the ten virgins, the foolish took their lamps but had no oil. They had the blessings of God and probably many things to show for it but they lacked the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. They were virgins so tho they weren't partakers of the super they were still virgins unto the groom.
It has got to be more than a sense experience, and how can it be more than a sense experience unless there lays something in the individual to make it such. We see it in scripture a few times where individuals sought repentance but were unable to find it. They were only operating at the sense level.
