The Real Tragedy Of Life

I believe it was Plato who said, 'We can forgive a child fearing the dark; the real tragedy of life is men
fearing the light.'

A true story has it that a new (and young) believer was tricked into going to a bar. She noticed the
atmosphere completely change. The rowdy 'party' spirit came to a screeching halt as puzzled eyes
turned to her in confusion. The manager approached her and kindly asked her to leave, saying she
'didn't belong'.

John 1:4-5 shows that in Jesus was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in
darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

For the true believer the light of God's life is essential, bringing clarity as it exposes sin, lies, and
every deceit and work of darkness. As we carry this 'light of life' into our lives, it brings certain fear
to those who love darkness more than light.

My heart breaks in regard to the truth in my OP... because today, the 'young believer' sees this
same fear in family members choosing to embrace 'darkness'. Scripture teaches that the gospel
would reveal 'enemies' in family members (Matthew 10:34-39).

My heart is with others facing the same... I pray you are strengthened for the battle and comforted
by the Spirit of God.
