My Daddy wrote, He said He would meet me at the train station
So pack my bags...my heart fluttered
The excitement grew apprehensively
The house faded in the sand
The Station grew with beauty on the horizon
Distant hope approached
The whistle of the train penetrated the fog
as one singing a final good-bye
The Porter took my bags
ABBA!!

Love this, it said so much to me without
Being ‘preached at’

This is nice free verse, crossnote.

Thank you for sharing!

Bob, Is that what it is? I don't know the technicalities of poetry. 🙀

Hello crossnote;

Yes, free verse poetry does not rhyme. Our sister thenami mostly writes free verse and some rhyme.

You know, when I use to compose lyrics, mine were mostly rhyme and struggled with this and the melodic timing.

Free verse can flow and doesn't require melodic timing.
