The Test

I had dream
I was enrolled in a course. We were in groups, so I was with two other fellows. The course was very hard, I just wasn't getting it but the other two guys seemed to being doing better so secretly I was hoping they would pull me through, but I plugged along the best I could. Then came the test. There were three sections and the section that was dealt to me couldn't have been worse, I had no clue. But I took my test and was assigned a place, it was noisy the lighting was poor and the ventilation fan was blowing down down on me, but I plugged on. Wouldn't you know it half way through I was moved because someone else needed that spot and my new spot was even worse than the one had. To top it off the exsme was so long there was no way I could finish it in the allotted 4 hours. Doing my best it was mostly guess work. There was some multiple choice so I had a small hope of getting some right there. I was thinking if I'm lucky I'll get 5%. I just hoped the other guys were doing well and would pull us through.. Then came the results and our group was near the top in finishing. I thought 'that can't be my 5% surely would pull us down'. Then I thought 'you know what happened the whole class did so poorly the instructor had to up grade the marks. BUT come to find out the TEST wasn't about academic ability but about attitude and behavior.
Then I woke up.
I thought, that is about how life is, God don't need our intellect and ability. Character is the thing that we take with us so that is what the test is all about.

Good morning, 2404;

I use to have two recurring dreams that stuck out with me. I was enrolled in a class course or hired in a company. For both I didn't complete the course nor complete the job. I was too busy running around, why I have no idea.

During the dream I would run into my professor and my employer. They don't seem disappointed but I felt the weight was on me for not completing the course or the job.

Part of my character was always taking on so much or if I needed help I didn't ask enough. I believe God was telling me He always has reinforcements to help me or assign others their portion of the duties.

There is probably another part of the dream that I may be overlooking but I can't figure it out right now because I'm too busy running around. lol!

Greetings
Yes we all have stories to tell and they are a big part of what we are but I expect the impact/importance they have on us is largely misleading. For if we look at our folks that have past on and what they had accomplished, where is it now? Does it really matter in the big picture? It certainly doesn't matter to them now. As Shakespeare said 'the world is a stage' we play our part and the show rolls on. So maybe it is not so important what part we play but that we play our part with understanding/desire to meet the author's expectation instead of our own inflated ideas. For the play belongs to the composer not the players.
I find there is a great rest if we can just let go and trust in the author of life. Not that I don't struggle with it, for the struggle is necessary to fulfill the dynamics of the play. For the play may not altogether be about us but it is for us, and the struggle is a integral part for our development, if in fact we are on the receiving end.
So as St. Paul says let us not simply he beating the air trying to be somebody but let us strive to fulfill the higher calling that is bigger than what we can imagine.
Of course I know that you know all these things but it is good to pour wine back and forth.
God bless

A funny thing about dreams is memory. You can have a dream that includes fake memories.

For example you dream that you're in school and you remember forgetting your friend's birthday. Then you wake up.

You know being in school was a dream, but what of forgetting your friend's birthday? You might forget that or not. If so, do you now "remember" forgetting your friend's birthday? It never happened...,

Good morning, LearningToLetGo;

I get it and have experienced that. From time to time I will dream of my mom, my late grandparents or others who have passed, and they all look healthy.

I really do understand how people are serious about their dreams to the point of subconsciousness. Is God's hand in it and is there a bigger picture?

I feel my dreams are a release of "my thoughts" and when I'm awake I go about my day with "my thoughts." I don't have nightmares and after my
morning prayers I forget what I dreamt about.

God bless
you, Jason.

I believe the general conception of dreams is that it is just stuff rolling around in a person's mind but if that was so then our day thinking would also be able to cause terror or euphoric mental conditions.
Being spiritual being we are subject to spiritual influences. Don't you find that it is in the early morning hours is the best time for spiritial communion? Away from all the distracting stimuli.
Granted most of the time our dreaming is just random material influx related to our waking hours journey, which narrows our focus. But scripture does say young men will see visions and old men will dream dreams. So I believe there is more to dreaming than eating too many hot peppers before bed time. If we would be more spiritually sensitive we might 'on occasion' recognize a spiritual significance working on us during the time when we in our most neutral state.

Hello 2404;

Yes.

People share with me about all sorts of things, dreams are one of them and I seriously listen to them. I can discern the seriousness in their tone. It's made an impression on me while walking away reflecting what they shared.

As I shared in my previous post#3 was when I was much younger. I could dream and remember them. As I've gotten older I can barely remember my dreams but know that it always involves people.

I believe that dreams can sometimes explain something we have been unable to understand.

I also believe that God sometimes reveals to us in dreams.

Acts 2:17 (KJV)

And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream drems.
