The witness of the Holy Spirit.... Billy Graham

“But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will
teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you†(John
14:26, NIV).

A Word From Billy Graham
“There is a story about a boy flying a kite. The kite was so high that it had
disappeared into the clouds. A man came by and asked, ‘What are you doing, son,
holding onto that string?’ The boy answered, ‘I’ve got a kite up there.’ The man
looked up and said, ‘I don’t see it.’ The boy replied, ‘Well, I know it’s there
because I can feel the tug.’ That’s like the witness of the Holy Spirit within
us. We may not see the evidence, but we feel a tug in our hearts constantly,
letting us know that we are in touch with God. That is the witness of the Holy
Spirit.â€

Quiet Nudges
“I have determined that throughout each day I will be alert to the Holy Spirit’s
working in my life. For example, one Sunday afternoon when I was about to sit
down and relax with the newspaper, I suddenly remembered a relative whom I knew
was lonely. I silently thanked the Lord for the quiet nudge and proceeded to
follow through by visiting with my relative for part of the afternoon. I have
come to realize that there is an effort required of us if we are to progress in
the Christian life. But we need to trust God and rest in Him so that we can be
aware of His quiet nudges†(Lorraine Joy Burt).

Prayer
Lord, we are grateful for the prompting of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Help us
to respond to the Holy Spirit and to act in accordance with Your will. Thank You
for sending the Holy Spirit to be Your presence with us on earth. We pray in
Jesus’ name. Amen.

It is so true. The gentle nudge of the Holy Spirit. He is such a gentleman. This brought to mind this past weekend when I was hoping my son would come for Thanksgiving and he said he was too busy. Well I started feeling sorry for myself until, I felt Holy Spirit telling me to ask my neibour out for dinner. It turns out that she had an arguement with her son and he moved out when she was at work so she was very distraught. Thank God I had a chance to cheer her up and all my problems went away. Thankyou Jesus.

Indeed, the Holy Spirit is working even if you cannot see it.

For example, the other day I had gotten into an argument. The other person was not forgiving me, and I began to resent this. Well, it was just then that a message played over the radio. It was about bitterness.

It said this:

Bitterness is like feeding ourselves poison, and expecting the other person to die.

This helped me see more clearly what was going on. I was able to humble myself, apologize and the situation was resolved.

Yep I can feel that tug- isn't it wonderful!
