the wrath of God

John 3:36
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
John 3:35-36 (in Context) John 3 (Whole Chapter)

is the wrath of God satan or our Lord.?

It has to be God. Satan cannot do nothing outside of God's Soverign will. In scripture God has two hands (of course these are not literal hands), the left hand anf the right.

The right hand of God, as we have seen, bespeaks God moving and acting through POSITIVE FORCES, while the left hand of God signifies God moving and acting through NEGATIVE FORCES. This reveals the beautiful balance in God's nature, as in all His works, and the whole creation is a revelation of this balance that exists first in the Creator Himself. There must be a balance. There must be the negative as well as the positive. That is but a natural law and we see it all around us. Without the negative and the positive we would have no electricity. Without the evil we would not know the beauty of the good. Without the sorrow we would not know about the wonder of joy. Without failure we would not know the wonderful feeling of success. Without the darkness we would not appreciate the light.
The dawn is all the more beautiful because of the darkness of the night. We learn by contrast and we find that God is working by contrast. Specially in His work of preparing His people for the great work of His Kingdom, we do learn by contrast and we see this principle exemplified in all the wonderful stories, experiences, and prophecies of the Bible.

In Prov. 25:16 we read, "Have you found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for you, lest you be filled therewith and vomit it."

In other words, for us to eat nothing but honey will make us sick. There must be other things also. And as in the natural, so in the spiritual. And so it is with the TWO HANDS of God! Have we found the pleasures at the RIGHT HAND of God? Have we received His blessings, so lavishly bestowed?
If so, eat just enough and let it be balanced with something from the LEFT HAND of God. Even if you THINK it is not good for you, accept it as from God, for we must not become sick from too much goodness from God. How can too much goodness sicken us?

If God gave us only GOOD things, we would never become strong. If Job had never known anything but God's blessing unto him, he would have continued to be so weak that God would always have had to enclose him in a hedge.
But after God's LEFT HAND was through dealing with Job he was an entirely different man, a man who not only was perfect, but tried, tested, and proven; a man who had been in a great deal of adversity, sorrow, and loss, but now he knew STRENGTH as well as God's blessing. Now God could bless him with twice as much as before - and with NO HEDGE!

but is satan used as Gods wroth.?

For those who are saved:
Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

For the lost : the only scripture I know of where The Lord uses satan to deal with them is the foll :
1 Cor 5:5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

Gods wrath, and satans work are very different.

God punishes for sins out of love, and correction much like a parent...

satan torments indiscriminately he is said to be seeking whomever he may devour, without love, and with the purpose of hurting God.

but is satan used as Gods wroth.?

No. Not only is God merciful but because He is holy He is also just.
His mercy is toward His children but His wrath will one day be toward those who refused to recieve Him, because they did not want Him in their lives.

God doesn't need the devils help for anything. The Holy Spirit and the Word is what He uses to teach, lead and correct.

2 Chronicles 36:16
But they mocked God's messengers, despised his words and scoffed at his prophets until the wrath of the LORD was aroused against his people and there was no remedy.

This is just one example of God's wrath .... but I would say it was a holy wrath and was justified.

Romans 2:5
But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God's wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed

I would say that God is not pleased with evil doers and His wrath is justified . The wrath of a just , pure and holy God is dreadful to evildoers. God is slow to anger , eager to forgive ....

Psalm 103:8-9

8 The LORD is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love.
9 He will not always accuse,
nor will he harbor his anger forever;

WRATH : 1. orge ^3709^: see ANGER and Notes (1) and (2).2. thumos ^2372^, "hot anger, passion," for which see ANGER, Notes (1) and (2), is translated "wrath" in <Luke 4:28; Acts 19:28; Rom. 2:8>, RV; <Gal. 5:20; Eph. 4:31; Col. 3:8; Heb. 11:27; Rev. 12:12; 14:8,10,19; 15:1,7; 16:1; 18:3>; "wraths" in <2 Cor. 12:20>; "fierceness" in <Rev. 16:19; 19:15> (followed by No. 1).#3. parorgismos ^3950^ occurs in <Eph. 4:26>: see ANGER, A, Note (2).#Note: For the verb parorgizo, "to provoke to wrath," <Eph. 6:4>, KJV, see ANGER, B, No. 2.

King James always like to use the negative as much as possible to scare people 2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Psalm 76:10 says, "Certainly the wrath of man shall praise thee; the remainder of wrath shalt Thou restrain." God restrains from happening anything that He does not intend to work into good. That's how much He is in control. The scripture says that the steps of a man are ordered by the Lord, and the Lord delighteth in his ways. This is true whether or not the man knows that it's true, and it's true if the man doesn't even know the Lord. Man can rebel and go his own way, but only according to the will of God; and God says, "I will use his rebellion and self-centerdness to teach him lessons for his ultimate good." And the remainder of his waywardness that God does not intend to use for the man's good, He simply restrains from happening.
Until we see God in sovereign control of the interplay between good and evil in everyone's life, we do not yet know what He is really like. Most of Christendom believes in two opposing forces that are in an eternal conflict, and that the fate of everyone is dependant on the chance choice of their supposed "free will."

is the wrath of God satan or our Lord.?

I believe that the verse in discussion speaks of the sense that people have that God is angry at them. This sense is the natural result of sin in our lives. And thus those whose faith is not in Christ live feeling/believing that God is angry at them. And thus the religions of the world focus on appeasing the wrath of god.

Jesus though revealed the love of God for all humanity. Sin no longer has the power to separate us from God because Jesus became sin for us suffering the full penalty of sin. The stronger our faith in Christ, the more we completely trust in the grace of God as revealed in the sacrifice of Christ, the more we realize we are children of God and the less we live under a sense that God is angry at us (under the wrath of God).

That's a good point, its our sin.

Amen. And sin no longer has the power to dominate us anymore either. We are free now and do not have to give in to it as sinners do, who have no power over sin.

Satan or God??? Who brings the Badness??

First, Nobody is getting judged yet.......... for punishment of sin, there needs to be judgment. Judgement will happen, but it is not yet. Even those that do not listen to the good news of the Gospel.

Joh 12:47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Joh 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

God does not use Satan to punish his Children. If you look at the account when Paul turned over the man to Satan, it was only for destruction, it was not to punish him. (Praise God in 2 Cor he Repented) Sickness, Poverty, and Calamity was never meant to teach anything. It was meant for one thing, and that was to destroy and kill you. Satan is the author of all this, as it is written, He came to kill, steal and destroy. (John 10:10)

Deu 28:45
Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:

Deu 28:51
And he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy land, until thou be destroyed: which also shall not leave thee either corn, wine, or oil, or the increase of thy kine, or flocks of thy sheep, until he have destroyed thee.

Every form of Sickness was meant to kill you. Accidents are but snares of the Fowler (Psalm 91) It was never meant to teach or just punish you. From the common cold, to something serious, it's something as blood bought and paid for Christians should resist as none of it belongs to us.

Deu 28:61 Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.

Every sickness means everything known and unknown to man. Scriptures can not lie, and all of it was designed to kill you, not make you a better person.

Confusion: Curse of the Law.

The Curse of the law came from breaking the Law. The Law was set in place for our protection as Satan had yet been defeated by our Lord Jesus. By keeping the Law, you kept yourself away from the Destroyer. The Law of God, and it's curse still remain on earth today, as we see the effects of it. It has nothing to do with Punishment, but everything to do with God making a way to escape these things and live a victorious life in Christ Jesus. Those that do not have Jesus......... Have no hope.

Eph 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

Jesus came for One main reason. Yes, it was to save us from our sins, but we should emphasize the reason the bible gives, and understand why that was necessary.

1Jn 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Heb 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

The Works of the Devil is Killing, Stealing and destroying things in your life. Things to take the quality of life away from you. Jesus came that we may have life abundantly. (John 10:10)

So, it was not only to remove that sin nature we had, being born again, but to destroy the devils ability to bring or keep harm on us. Satan has been completely defeated!!!!

The curse of the law brought death, law breakers were killed. All Covenants that are broken require blood and something must die. Jesus took our punishment that we deserved. That is why it is written.

Gal 3:13 But by becoming a curse for us Christ has redeemed us from the curse that the Law brings; for the scripture says, "Anyone who is hanged on a tree is under God's curse." GNB

If you read deut 28, you will find that punishment for breaking the law of God and not hearkening to his voice brought the curse. Sickness, poverty and death. None of it was designed to teach us anything.
sickness was a form of that punishment to death. Jesus took that punishment for us, as it is written, by his stripes we are healed.

Why some die then? Why some stay sick?

It's not God, He already sent his Word and healed us. We have a part to play. As it is written, Without faith it's impossible to please God. (Heb 11:6)

1Pe 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

It would appear that not everyone can be chomped so easy, else the devil would not have to do all that seeking.

1Pe 5:9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Our part is to resist. If we think it's God causing the problems or that Healing passed away, and "By His Stripes we are Healed" is just some spiritual thing that nobody knows what that means, then your most likely done for.

We have but a short small time on this earth, soon, Jesus will be in control and the devil will be tossed away as he deserves. We will never get a better chance to to show God we believe him and be strong in the Lord and the Power of his might. I don't think we are going to be praying for healing in Heaven, so lets take this time, get the job done, and when the Lord shows up, let it be he will find faith. We got the victory over all these things, Why? because he Loves us.......

Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Be blessed.

.
Great post WordOFaith!

God does not use Satan to punish his Children.

Correct.

2 Timothy 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness

Deu 28:45 Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:

Its easy to see if something is a curse or a blessing from God by reading through the long list of things mentioned in that chapter

Amen

The Works of the Devil is Killing, Stealing and destroying things in your life. Things to take the quality of life away from you. Jesus came that we may have life abundantly. (John 10:10)

I'm glad someone finally got this right!

So, it was not only to remove that sin nature we had, being born again, but to destroy the devils ability to bring or keep harm on us. Satan has been completely defeated!!!!

Amen. The Scriptures and the Holy Spirit is our teacher.

John 14:26
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Thank you GodSpeaks, I am also thankful that you added the Holy Ghost and scriptures as our teachers. Along with Pastor's, Teachers, and the rest of the ministry gifts given unto men, that we may be more like Jesus. God does not use the tools of Hell to teach us or build character. The Holy Ghost and Word of God are more than powerful enough to change anything and anyone. (Look at what the Holy Ghost and Word of God created out of the substance of faith?) Yes, more than enough to get you in the right direction.

People give glory to cancer's and car crashes for bringing them closer to God. Then they accuse God of using these tools to bring people closer to God. Silly, silly, silly. If that were the case, then everyone on the planet would be saved. No, when flesh is hurting, the SMART ones turn to the one that made them and look for help. It's the Word and time with God while hurting that got them turned around. I guess some people wait on the fish to come and swallow them before doing what the Lord Called them to do, when they could have just been bright, and did what God asked them to do in the first place. Don't give the fish any credit, but admit you were stubborn and don't let it happen again. Never give the devil any place. Never!!! Your life and Family depend on it. Walk in love children of God. Walk in love.

Be Blessed.

Many time we bring tragadies on ourself (or if some want to call it bringing 'judgement' on themselves). Its not God, its that we reap what we sow. There's no way to get around that principle.

Galatians 6:7
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

And there are many other reasons bad things happen, the biggest being its a fallen world. When Adam and Eve sinned it brought destruction and tragedy into the world

(Look at what the Holy Ghost and Word of God created out of the substance of faith?) Yes, more than enough to get you in the right direction.

Yes He's quite capable to teaching us without the enemy's help LOL.

People give glory to cancer's and car crashes for bringing them closer to God. Then they accuse God of using these tools to bring people closer to God.

There are lots of people, and I know some, in those situations that never come to God and in fact, turn from Him because they blame Him! It depends on the person and the condition of their heart.

If that were the case, then everyone on the planet would be saved.

Yep. That reminds me so something I think I'll post in the next day or so

No, when flesh is hurting, the SMART ones turn to the one that made them and look for help.

It's the Word and time with God while hurting that got them turned around.

In some cases if some had been folloing the Lord, and spenting as much time in the Word and praying, some of the situations would not have happened because the Lord would has had them pray and take authority over the enemy.

I guess some people wait on the fish to come and swallow them before doing what the Lord Called them to do, when they could have just been bright, and did what God asked them to do in the first place.

It seems like human nature to have to get knocked down before they will look up. But that's not God's way.
