Even though i am new here, i am finding it difficult for me to want to get involved with the more popular threads here. They all seem to be highly debated, and require lots of reading. Most of the topics are focusing on negative aspects- at least the ones that are getting the most attention.

And when i do find a thread that looks interesting enough to post my opinion or feedback on, there happens to already be at least 15 replies. Enough replies to have my response go un-noticed.

Sorry yall, but i'm not enjoying myself here yet.

Tips? Advice?

i cannot imagine how that can be a reason not to continue post your opinion or feedback?

Just start your own thread and ask everyone to be nice. :) We try to discourage negative / unfriendly / rude / agenda based posts. Too much moderation is also bad so we are trying to balance it out. You can click the report button in case you want to report a post to us. It will be anonymous.
 
Certain topics do move very fast, but you will notice that it tends to happen when two of three people just happen to be online at the same time. I get pretty far behind as well in some topics.

I think that i am just being shy, heh. I tend to feel a bit unnoticed in crowds of people easily. Its something i need to overcome. Because like, i know that i do have good things to say. And it's especially strange, since i am naturally confrontational. lol! I'll figure it out.

I would like to encourage Shine to continue sending posts here. Sometimes what happens is that as we get involved in different subjects, often happens that the subject gets diverted to other themes and the original message is totally hidden from sight.
What I do is look at the original message and write what I believe is my answer no matter how it has been diverted.
So express your own opinion always keeping to the original theme.

I know someOne who can find you in a world full of people. Each and every time.

As for me, I remember that when I was 15 I was in love with a girl and she said to me at one time: I don’t know how you can be so alone in a room full of people.

But I wasn’t alone, I was with my thoughts. And I have never got rid of that. So…

I think I know how you feel. I'm new - just started today - and the first thread I jumped on was 15 pages long. It hit close to home so I may have had something to say but without reading ALL the posts I wasn't sure it I had anything new to contribute. I'm just going to try to get started with some newer posts and see how that goes.

Fun to read that you understood. :] What i have been doing, is to not read through all the pages. Depending on the topic of course. If it is about something that has many opinions, and i believe that i have learned something through my own revelations and studies. The what i do is just read the first post, the thread starter, then skip to the bottom and post off of that. Instead of scrolling through what everyone else has said.

Forums are for dogs. Dogmatics.
Most people aren't here to learn anything and many have a "can't teach me ______ "attitude.

I was banned for life from one forum for calling a mod a no one. But before that event, out of hundreds of posts I had a couple of very significant interactions resulting in the ability to fruitfully use the gifts of the Spirit.

We all want to serve God with our gifts. We can't do that if we always try to be right. If you are motivated to use your spiritual gifts here then you have to put up with each other's idiosyncrasies. At least we are not living in the dark ages.

By joining a community, you are accepting the authority of the leaders of that community. You don't have to agree with them, but challenging that authority is going to have negative results.

I don't care so much about honor per se. Nobody has to agree with me or even respect me. But if you decide to attack a moderator, he likely result will be a ban. While I tend to be pretty patient when it comes to that, I also know that when people refuse to abide by the rules or respect the leadership, they will often do more damage than good anyway.

Unity is good, though I don't think we have to be united on every point. I once remember being told that Unity must be maintained "above all else". I'm not sure I can agree with that, but I definitely understand the point that was being made. A house divided cannot stand.
