Thinking about what we think and say

It’s very easy to slip into some of those thoughts with negative views.

The enemy will try anything to make us miserable.

But I also think he can also make us feel elated too when it suits him. he can appear as a messenger of light.

For instance…
If I think I’m beautiful, I could start to feel elated.

How would I know if this is of the enemy, Or if it is of God?

Thanks Dv3,

Your image postings I love❤️
Thank you Ms Via,
I have a lot of respect for what you express. You show kindness always and seem to be always joyful. I pray the Lord would give you the sweetness of the honeycomb to flood your soul and that sweetness would settle in the very marrow of your being. He is everything to me everything!

Hello D3v;

This poster is very much rocket science and I really had to figure this out. 🎼 If I only had a brain 🎼 lol! 😎

Seriously, it reminded me of a sermon I heard yesterday on the radio. We are personally entering a new chapter in our life and the preacher was saying that when we are headed in a new direction with God, we may feel he is not with us because of the details (troubles) in between the beginning and completion. The details (troubles) in between may discourage us but He is with us the whole time.

I believe the preacher used Isaiah 55:6-9, 6 “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; 7 let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. - ESV

God bless you, sister, and thank you for sharing this.

If I had drawn that scale of what we think compared to what his will may be for our lives, it would be way worse.

There would be gators, snakes & spiders in my way. The rocks the rain and the waters waaaaaaaay rougher seas & terrain.

I love Isaiah, it contains some of the most powerful verses, as you've quoted above. Is.43: When thou passed through the WATERS,I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall NOT overflow thee: When thou walked through the fire, though shalt NOT be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon THEE.
POWERFUL !

Not everyone can give an answer right away, don't feel pressured when asked if you can't think of an answer.
You can say 'I need to think about this' or 'I'll get back to you'.

And it's also OK to say 'I don't know'
Or do a google search before you say something to get your facts right.

Sometimes all people want is an emotional response and it's ok to react with an emoji or something. Or 'I hear you'.
A lot of discussion is just that - it's not debate. It's just exploring ideas. There's no I am right and you must be wrong. Sometimes its 'this is the way I see it from my perspective...what's yours?' Not well this is the way it is for EVERYONE. It's not.

If we want answers from above we can always pray and ask Him for wisdom. (It's no use praying for patience lol)
I really like this reply. I feel the same way. I refer back to scriptures. Be slow to speak and quick to listen, asking God for His wisdom. I like Paul when he talks about be at peace with all men if it is possible. I think myself it's one of the biggest struggles I face is that I personally face is the impulse to provide a response.

Realizing praying is a response. Being humble and acknowledging that we don't know everything and even means how to formulate an appropriate response to a person's conversation whether it be post online or in person.

Anyone can have a moment of greatness, but true strength lies in consistently living with integrity and love, regardless of the circumstances.

To live with such integrity, we need to live, think, and speak while being in Christ — and that was once a true challenge for me.

I spent months working on myself, gradually eliminating negative traits like pride, greed, and boasting. The hardest part, however, was changing my thoughts and mindset.

Unlike outward behavior, no one stops you, judges you, or corrects you for a wrong thought. After living for decades with a flawed mindset, it was incredibly difficult to rebuild my inner world.

Eventually, after months of trying and failing, I gave up and said, "Lord, I can't do this—please help me." And He did.

By chance, I saw a video on YouTube that explained something simple yet powerful: humans cannot control every thought or fix every mental mistake on their own. Instead, we need to replace negative thoughts with positive ones.

If you're selfish, focus daily on growing selflessness. Constantly think about what you can do for others. Day by day, without fighting yourself, you start to change naturally.

This approach helped me. Four months later, I realized that I was succeeding.

Now, I'm not claiming that this method will work for everyone—I truly don’t know. But what I am certain of is this: if we sincerely desire to change something within ourselves for the better and need guidance, we must stop relying solely on our own strength and ask the Lord for help.

Good morning Yurii .... How wonderful that you seem to be fitting right in here. I am sensing such an EXCITEMENT in you to live the Christian life.

There are so many parts to this NEW LIFE in Christ.. and what you have described is the journey of HOLINESS we are called to... when we come to CHRIST.

For me... I have found that age ( getting older ) also acts as a natural factor of change. I mean... I don't even consider doing or saying the things I used to when I was young.

Guarding my tongue is something I have been learning over my lifetime. I want to encourage you to simply dwell in the presence of YOUR GOD. Focus on PRAISING HIM... WORSHIPPING HIM.... THANKING HIM.... LOVING HIM.

I have found when I do the above.... I become so filled with GRATITUDE and AWE of HIM that some of those things that you mentioned in your post simply FALL OFF of me.... I no longer desire to feed my flesh ( self ).

The things you speak of in post #71 are life long battles. We are in a war with satan and he desires to destroy us... he will throw whatever he thinks we will fall for at us. Because of this.. we need to be AWARE that these things in us... these thorns in our sides such as pride...boasting... and greed are traits that live in all of us. I call them warning signs... and for me.. the best way to fight these off is to first be HONEST when I seek GOD to have them removed. Doing a daily/nightly inventory ( going through my day honestly and talking to God about the things I said or did that were NOT pleasing to him ) is so important so that these bad habits do not have time to fester and grow. ( I hope this made sense to you ). I just woke up and have not yet had my first morning coffee. HA.

I love what you said..... TRUE STRENGTH lies in consistently living with integrity and love, regardless of the circumstances.

THAT my dear brother is such a powerful statement... and GOD DELIGHTS in helping us.

Thank you for your beautiful words.... and WELCOME here. Tenderly..... In Awe

Good morning,

Thank you for your thoughtful and heartfelt response. Your words truly resonated with me, especially your point about the lifelong journey of holiness and the importance of being honest before God when seeking freedom from pride, boasting, and greed.

I was so inspired by your insight: "We need to be AWARE that these things in us... these thorns in our sides... are traits that live in all of us. I call them warning signs... and for me, the best way to fight these off is to first be HONEST when I seek GOD to have them removed."

These words were so meaningful that I decided to write them down in my journal as a daily reminder. I want to remember to always approach the Lord with humility and honesty, trusting Him to reveal and transform those hidden areas of my heart.

Your encouragement to dwell in God's presence, praise Him, and let gratitude fill our lives is something I deeply appreciate. I have also found that when I shift my focus to praising and thanking God, many struggles seem to lose their grip on me. Thank you again for your kind words, wisdom, and support. I look forward to continuing this beautiful journey in Christ alongside such wonderful brothers and sisters.

Tenderly in Christ,
Yurii
