The belief that flesh can clean up flesh, that man can redeem himself through his own effort or works, is an absolute, egotistical affront to Christ's cross, a slap in the face of God, an insult to Christ's agony and God's supreme sacrifice of His beloved Son to show mankind true love.

You would not believe the amount of people that cannot accept the cross, and still make a galant effort to clean up their act.
The simplicity of just accepting a finished work on Calvary is not enough, they still feel they need to atone for their sins.
What a trap to fall into; that there is some form (still yet to be figured out) of debt to be paid.
