Times of Trouble

Focusing on things that don't matter destroys our testimony. An idol can be anything we focus our minds on continually or for prolonged periods and too often it is money. Racing toward retirement so that we may eventually enjoy our lives while loathing the life we have until the day of pension is a waste. Everything is about Jesus and we should be too.

The troubles we find ourselves in are difficult enough. When we add worry to these troubles, we are inventing troubles that often don't exist and bringing the future troubles to the present. I love this quote from Edward Hale, it is so true.

I totally agree with your reasoning on this matter. We need to keep "the main things"...the main things,
and not get caught up in minor issues of no lasting or eternal value.
