Tomorrow?

Tomorrow?

Most of you know that we aren't promised any amount of time on this earth. If you didn't you do now.
We aren't guaranteed the next second if you want to get down to it. At any moment our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ could come to take us home. Not only that your time could be at any moment. The Bible says that He will come like the twinkling of an eye. He will come and leave with all his children faster than you can even blink. That could also apply to the way in which He calls us up individually. A car wreck can take the life of a loved one in a matter of seconds.

James 4:14 says: Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.

Our life is so short and fragile. There isn't time to "try-out" the world and decide that it's not for us. Many times we take for granted that we have but one life to live and if we can't for something we will fall for anything.

If you read James 4:13-17 it places a heavy emphasis on how we truly aren't promised any time. So much so that it is considered bragging if we say that we will do something tomorrow or later on that day. It implies that we have this time, that we are in some form of control. God is the only one in control.

Now the question is: What will you do with your time? Will you choose to stand for what is right in the eyes of our Savior or will you choose to not bother with him at all?

If you don't stand for something you will fall for anything...

Your post reminded me of an old Larnelle Harris song that went something like this:

Tomorrow, who promised you tomorrow?
You'd better give your life today
for tomorrow may very well be to late.
