Today’s sermon, at my church, was all about finding joy in our personal trials and tribulations as a process of growing spiritually. Our worship hall has a max capacity of 1,300 and today was a full house; especially for the 10:30 service.
Towards the end of the service, the pastor asked that anyone going through a personal trial come forward and pray with him. It was quite moving that probably over 100 worshipers left their seats and knelt at the front of the hall and, along with our pastor, prayed to our Lord. This was a very humbling experience and a memory I will hold dear forever.
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” (James 1: 2-5 (NIV)).
May you have a peaceful week and God bless each and everyone
