Trials and Tibulations

Today’s sermon, at my church, was all about finding joy in our personal trials and tribulations as a process of growing spiritually. Our worship hall has a max capacity of 1,300 and today was a full house; especially for the 10:30 service.

Towards the end of the service, the pastor asked that anyone going through a personal trial come forward and pray with him. It was quite moving that probably over 100 worshipers left their seats and knelt at the front of the hall and, along with our pastor, prayed to our Lord. This was a very humbling experience and a memory I will hold dear forever.

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” (James 1: 2-5 (NIV)).

May you have a peaceful week and God bless each and everyone

We learn through our failures in life.

I do not know of anyone who does not have personal problems and trials of some kind in their lives.

Now, Jesus never said He would make them all go away, but He did say that He would hold our hand as we worked our way through those times, no matter what they are.

Deut. 31:6......….
"Be strong and courageous do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you."

Life does make you stop and think. Trials and tribulations are part of being on this earth. As soon as one passes, you must be prepared for the next one. It might be after a period of no issues, but issues are coming. Trial and tribulations escape no one; it treats the rich and poor pretty much the same and death? Well that is the great equalizer.

Yes sir. If someone is not having a difficult time today, just wait a day or two, because it is coming.

“God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

Actually the valleys are where most of the life happening is! Some people prefer the mountain tops, sure you get a good view but you need to come down eventually.

The valleys are also where the water is.

As for trials and tribulations, the Lord wants to prove our faith. When you go to school, the teachers find out how much weve learned by giving us tests and exams. They meant to be challenging. So prepare for them. If you prepared, you will come through with flying colours, but if you do 'fail,' you just need to sit it again the next time. I find that God will keep on with the trials until we pass. Its really only when we give up, that we really fail.

My trials have brought me near to God. I am so thankful He loves me so much that He would teach me the proper way to live. We are nothing but dead people walking around until God wakes us up. We are kind of like the walking dead. lol

Life begins in God and ends with God. I am so very thankful He first loved me and cultivated a love within me all for Himself and for others.

Amen!

The devil brings these problems and not God. I can fight him to a degree and lessen the issues. But they are still there, when Jesus chooses someone they are hated people.

Just to allow you to dig in a little deeper, I would suggest to you Hebrews 12:6............
“For whom the Lord loves he chastens, and scourges every son whom he receives".

Another word for “chasten” is “discipline.”

The passage goes on to quote Proverbs 3:11-2 which says,.......
"“My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline and do not resent his rebuke, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.”

Proper discipline is a proof of love.

A loving father carefully watches his son, and when that son defies his orders and heads for danger, the father disciplines him to keep him safe. God does that with us. When a born-again child of God heads for sin or refuses to resist temptation, our Heavenly Father brings chastening into his life to direct him back to holiness.

What am I saying???? That everything that happens is not always from Satan. Sometimes it is God correcting His disobedient child.

Are the proverbs gender-specific?

I am sometimes tired of watching so many boys without fathers run wild, so yes its true they need their dads to watch over them. But often where are the dads? watching the tv! Or not even at home. Working all the time! Or not even there. Or watching PORN.

Dads you need to step it up. Us women can't always be watching your boys do silly things and then having to be the disciplinarian.

Daughters women can handle, because we are 'role models' for behaviour. But so many sons are without their male role model.
The weird thing is when men get confused about discipline and beat up their wives. Listen your wife is NOT your son.

I was reading this book about the mother who's son killed heaps of people in the Columbine High school massacre. Before that, he was getting into all sorts of trouble, like stealing stuff. But his parents LET HIM OFF and bailed him out because it could have ruined their reputation. He already had a wayward older brother. Where was the dad. The dad was was not teaching their boys anything, all the disciplining was left up to the mother. (according to her book, and it was quite ineffectual, because all it did was teach him to lie about stuff) . I don't want to blame the parents for their failings since their son was 15 and supposed to think for himself and be responsible, but total lack of discipline was evident in the way that I notice richer parents WILL bail out their children from crimes they commit. If they had not bailed him out, he would have served time IN JAIL and learned his lesson. And would when he got out he would have been less likely to go and kill random people, at least, he would have been under strict surveillence (IMHO).
