A sinner saved by God's grace

A Quote:

“When the idea became prevalent that the Bible did not mean what it says, and that only those who had made a study of philosophy could unravel its intricacies, the people would very naturally cease to read the Bible. It is much easier to take things on authority than to study them out, and so the people let themselves be wholly in the hands of these philosophical teachers. What was the use of their trying to read the Bible, when they were assured that it did not mean what it said? If that were so, the more they read it, the more they were in danger.” End Quote.

We can be thankful the biddings and enablings of the Lord are ever so strong, loving and compassionate. Only the Lord of mercy understands the inner workings of the mind of man. For this is totally beyond my frail humanity.
