Saints
What is a Saint?
A little boy was accustomed to attending a church which had beautiful stained-glass windows. He saw that the windows contained pictures: "St. Matthew, St. Mark, St. Luke, St. John, St. Paul," and others. One day he was asked, "What is a saint?" He replied, "A saint is a person the light shines through."
Does God's light shine through you? Christ commands, "Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven" (Matthew 5:16).

"Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the SAINTS which are at Ephesus".

Then Philippians 2:1
"Paul and Timothy, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the SAINTS in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi".

SAINTS .....IMHO; are all Christians. We do not have to die to be declared a saint, but instead we believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior!

The Will of God
"The Bird and the Butterfly"
A large home had fine plate-glass windows that lookd out on a beautiful garden. A bird outside tried to catch a butterfly that was inside; the bird flew against the window while the butterfly flew up and down trying to get away. The butterfly could not see the glass and expected at every moment to be caught; the bird did not see the glass and expected at every moment to catch its prey; yet the butterfly was as safe as though a wall of stone were between them.
We who are Christians must not forget that the invisible presence of Christ is between us and every difficulty of life. There is nothing that can touch us unless it passes through the will of God in Christ. Our Lord has shown us that we are between His hand and the Father's "...neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand...no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand" (John 10:28,29). This is why the believer is so sure.
What Is The Will Of God:
2 Peter 3:9,
"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
Jesus Christ Doing The Will Of God The Father:

Faith

Donner Atwood, in Reformed Review, writes:
During the terrible days of the Blitz, a father, holding his small son by the hand, ran from a building that had been struck by a bomb. In the front yard was a shell hole. Seeking shelter as soon as possible, the father jumped into the hole and held up his arms for his son to follow.
Terrified, yet hearing his father's voice telling him to jump, the boy replied, "I can't see you!"
The father, looking up against the sky tinted red by the burning buildings, called to the silhouette of his son, "But I can see you. Jump!"
The boy jumped, because he trusted his father.

The Christian faith enables us to face life or meet death, not because we can see, but with certainty that we are seen; not that we know all the answers, but that we are known.

The folklore surrounding Poland's famous concert pianist and prime minister, Ignace Paderewski, includes this story:

A mother, wishing to encourage her young son's progress at the piano, bought tickets for a Paderewski performance. When the night arrived, they found their seats near the front of the concert hall and eyed the majestic Steinway waiting on stage.
Soon the mother found a friend to talk to, and the boy slipped away. When eight o'clock arrived, the spotlights came on, the audience quieted, and only then did they notice the boy up on the bench, innocently picking out "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star."
His mother gasped, but before she could retireve her son, the master appeared on the stage and quickly moved to the keyboard.
"Don't quit--keep playing," he whispered to the boy. Leaning over, Paderewski reached down with his left hand and began filling in a bass part. Soon his right arm reached around the other side, encircling the child, to add a running obbligato. Together, the old master and the young novice held the crowd mesmerized.

In our lives, unpolished though we may be, it is the Master who surrounds us and whispers in our ear, time and again, "Don't quit--keep playing." And as we do, he augments and supplements until a work of amazing beauty is created.

Justification
Paying Bills

Every one of us at some time or other has walked into an office to pay a bill---for telephone service, electricity, or some other obligation we have incurred. We hand the money to the teller who counts our money, takes the bill we owe, and presses a rubber stamp upon an ink pad, stamps our bill and hands us a receipt. The company could never collect that bill from us agian, for if they tried to do so, we could produce the receipt and they would know that the matter had been cleared, and that we were free from the obligation forever.
The Lord Jesus Christ walked up to Calvary, which was God's desk for the payment of the bill of our sins. The account was heavy against us, and the Lord Jesus Christ could settle the account by shedding His blood in dying for us.

Justification Coming By Jesus Christ:

Romans 3:23-24,
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus."

Galatians 2:16-20,
"Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. The Body
The Three Story Building

We all have seen pictures of the World War II bombings of London, in which the explosion caused the third story of a three-story building to collapse onto the second story. The pictures show large holes gaping in the second-floor walls; we can see the debris of the third floor strewn on the floor below The first story has withstood some of the shock--it still stands--though there are cracks in the walls and it is ultimately doomed to crash.

Thus it was with Adam. His body was the repository of his soul, and above that was his spirit. When sin came into his life, the spirit fell down into the soul; the debris of the two became hopelessly confused so that, as we consider fallen man today, it is impossible to distinquish between the soul and the spirit.

Confessing Christ

In his autobiography, Standing Firm, Dan Quayle, former vice president under George Bush, writes:

Although I had been raised a Presbyterian, my personal acceptance of Christ occurred in a Methodist church on a Sunday afternoon in 1964, when I was seventeen years old. With about fifteen or twenty other young people, I'd gone through an ecumenical Bible study course, one that alternated between the local Methodist and Presbyterian churches. We talked about Christ having died for our sins and the importance of accepting him as our Savior. On this particular Sunday afternoon, our group leader urged each of us to make a personal, open statement about accepting Christ. And in a quiet, peaceful way most of us did. Almost as much as the moment itself, I can still remember how the next day at school we nodded to one another as brother and sister Christians who had publicly professed our faith.

When Jesus ministered on the earth, he called people in public to follow him. Our decision to follow Christ must not remain a secret. Jesus calls us to make a public stand for him.

Is not the following one proof of being called a "saint" when "the mystery that had been hidden for ages" is revealed to a Christian?

Colossians 1:26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

What could be this "mystery?"

The mystery, please see Eph. 3:2-9. First, yes, the scripture that you speak of is proof of being called a saint. The mystery is that through the gospel, the Gentiles are now heirs together with Israel. We are now members of one body and now share in the promise of Christ Jesus.

Patience

Some years ago a speedboat driver who had survived a racing accident decribed what had happened. He said he had been at near top speeds when his boat veered slightly and hit a wave at a dangerous angle. The combined force of his speed and the size and angle of the wave sent the boat spinning crazily into the air. He was thrown from his seat and propelled deeply into the water ---so deep, in fact, that he had no idea which direction the surface was. He had to remain calm and wait for the buoyancy of his life vest to begin pulling him up. Once he discovered which way was up, he could swim for the surface.​
Sometimes we find ourselves surrounded by confusing options, too deeply immersed in our problems to know which way is up. When this happens, we too can remain calm, waiting for God's gentle tug to pull us in the proper direction. Our "life vest" may be other Christians, Scripture, or some other leading from the Holy Spirit, but the key is recognizing our dependency upon God and trusting him.​
