Who Is The Problem Here?

I have noticed that some posts are very long and I find my mind wanting to wonder away from it if it endures. I force my mind to stay on the message and work through it piece by piece just as the author worked through it piece by piece as they laid the words out for us to receive. So then, what is the problem? Is your post too long or is my attention undisciplined or under-developed? How can I stay focused and learn from someone's post or do I need to shorten my message? Or is it not either-or but both?

This reminds me of many differences today that we have gotten use to as society.

For most of us we don't remember a time when many activities took longer in a household. Washing clothes in a water stream by hand with a rock and soap took much longer than throwing them in a washing machine. Making that bar of soap because you had to. Cooking and preparing meals took over hour many times. Baking bread and cookies from scratch.

I grew up churning butter, making ice cream, cheese, yogurt, and with many other chores on a farm. My wife still makes most meals from scratch because it's what she is use to, we know what's in it and it often tastes better.

So, I think in part it is a lack of patience for both parties. It takes times to converse, it easier to lay out all of your arguments at once. A listener needs patience to go through it all.

? which post are you talking about.
I think depends. I don't always read every single post.
Some posts are actually really confusing for me so I don't respond to them if I don't have the time to ask the person to clarify. Especially if they have lots of scripture references all over the place, which means you have to then look up every single verse.

I quote Scripture as a reference of Scripture I quote in my posts. In college I was required to use APA in papers. For example, in a paraphrase I might say, Lanolin stated that sometimes she won't respond if there are lots of Scripture references (Lanolin, 2021). So you don't actually have to look it up it is just a reference for the source in order to not be accused of plagiarism. I wasn't talking about any particular post it was just a conversation piece. You seem to be very critical - is there a reason for that that you are aware of?

You are correct. A very long post is one that no one reads.

I have on occasion had to do a long post because of the subject matter but not very often.

Hi I enjoy your offerings. I like the name Nazrene. Sorry in advance for my use suffering grammar hope you can follow. .

I would think in one way we are are to live in peace as much as possible depending on us and our relationship with our redeemer as two walking together. It would seem when angry mankind looks for fault in others . The fields are white the workers are few .

At the end of the day it folows below

Exodus 16:18 And when they did mete it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating.

In that way it is not either nor both but all working mixed together as one.

I think it can be seen in a mutitude of parables in a row used in Luke 9 .Parables are used to conceal the gospel understanding in parables and reveal it to those who mix faith in what they do see or hear. (the termporal)

Parables in that way teach us how to walk by faith, the unseen eternal the language or tongue of God prophecy.

On one ocassion while hiding the understandings of the parables and the apotles stood there bewildered wondering (What's up? ) not coming to the end (beleif) Jeus would begin another parable and hide the understanding. In total confussion the apostles decided they needed a new alfa dog "who is the greatest" they gave up on Jesus to show what maner of spirit they are of . Again and again one parble to teach how to walk by faith after anoter . On the last occasion it seemed that Jeus was headed toward Jerusalem the city of Jews but did not go but rather went to the gentiles. The apotles again not mixing faith and therefore did not understand the parable . The apostles it would seem rather thought that Jesus should rain down fire and destroy all. Just like Jonah who would of rather died then preach the good new.s to show what maner of spirit he was of. .

In that way it is niether nor both but again all working things working for the good as the proper one manner of Spirit hearing God not seen and not mankind seen.

Amazed at the mighty power of God is not coming to the end of faith (beleif). be amazed but believe we are made aware of lying wonders. .

We can plant the incorruptible seed and water them with the doctrines of God that fall like rain but he must breath in new eternal spirit life.

Luke 9:43-55 And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God. But while they wondered every one at all things which Jesus did, he said unto his disciples, Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men. But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying. Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest. And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child, and set him by him, And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great. And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us. And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us. And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem, And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him. And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem. And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did? But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.

Most people just say what version of the Bible they are quoting from which is good, as there are many version eg KJV. It is confusing if someones reading NASB, doesn't say it then refers to something thats not actually in another version eg a a different word.

But I was meaning when people write John 3:16, Proverbs 29:2, Eccelsiastes 4:6, 7:10-13 and then you have to go and look them all up and they are all in the same post and they aren't quoted in full or only partly.
You might recoginse some verses just by the number but if too many are in one long post I'm like, this is straining my eyes and my computer can't cope with too many windows up at once.

I see what you are saying and you aren't too far off target either. I battle against being a Son of Thunder myself because those who are against God I take personal. God has reminded me many times to take a back seat and just watch but I do wrestle with that. My Spirit is of God but my nature is that of a man. I have been made a new creature but I don't receive the recompense of my redemption until that day we long for. To speak cryptically, as we are apparently doing here, I would say that the fox seeks refuge in the storm and finds a hole in the rocks where to lay his head and is rested but is soon awakened by an eagle at the mouth of the cozy nook. What shall I do being that I am a fox at rest? Shall I run into the open and to what avail or shall I use my teeth and claws to defend my life from this eagle who will surely not debate with himself whether to tear me with his talons?

My life is in God's hands and I will do as He leads but I am not at peace with the ideology that in order to be a Christian we must endure whatever Satan desires to torment us with. If God wants me to fight I will fight and if He wants me to be at peace I will be at peace. I will never be at peace with Hell though and if someone is speaking lies or false doctrine I will tell them they are wrong and if they refuse wisdom I will not keeping throwing pearls to pigs. If being tempted to physically fight the enemy is my greatest fault I have surely made a lot of progress and I can die peacefully if that is all the fault I enter Heaven with. Hopefully I will still receive the statement, "Welcome, My child, you have fought the good fight".

Good stuff my brother.

I too fight daily against my nature to throw lightening bolts at those who pervert the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Dear brothers and sisters;

I thought about the title, Who Is The Problem Here? and then prayerfully read each one's posts.

I was asking myself how do our views align with the verb of this topic? I was filled with a mix of LOVE, acceptance, and understanding while reading, and this helped me learn more about my brothers and sisters in a fellowship discussion. This sure beats having negative reservations, rejection and reacting toward another while reading.

Some don't like the topic long, others like it short and sweet to the point, while others commend the Scripture but would rather read/hear from your heart. Still, others shared their view that didn't seem to align to the verb within this topic.

This is where the KEY to this thread stands out, Who, not What, Is The Problem Here?

This is where good fellowship for Christ comes in. We should feel loved, accepted and safe when sharing our thoughts verbally or from reading. Some are going to write short and sweet. Personally, I would like people to share more than just a few words in a sentence. Personally, I would like people to get to the point instead of writing a novel. Personally, I would love to hear a Scripture reference when discussing Christian character and knowing right standing with God from wrongful sin. Personally, I love to hear from people's hearts and if the Scripture isn't mentioned, I hope my personal study of the Bible will discern what is being said.

Point is, it's not about me, but God and His people. I believe God sends each of us to others who need people longing for compassion, sharing and someone to listen to them. They're going to express themselves in different ways. Question is, are our hearts being searched when we fellowship with them while listening to them?

No matter the measure we bring when sharing, it's God allowing us to get to know our brother and sister and what they want to communicate. This is an opportunity to pray, learn and bond closer with each other.

God bless you all and your families.

Well, with that I think this thread can be locked. Thank you, Pastor Bob. That was incredibly well stated.

I agree that I think the topic has been well covered, but it can be amazing how someone can bring up something that adds color and dimension when you thought there was nothing that could be said to improve on a subject.
