Many do not stand with their fathers, or their fathers' fathers.

WHY would you stand for this father then?

What makes HIM different that you would take to his side rather than any other?
What makes our living God different is His great love for us that supersedes the imperfect love of our own natural fathers.

You then stand with him because you accept his love as well as him saving you. That's a monumental good thing.

Interesting, I would classify then that in the array of "Idealism".....
I go by the example given in Luke 15.

I look at this way.

Dad says go clean your room.
You do it because he said so.
You're a good son, you listened and followed the command.

Now before dad says go clean your room you already did.
Because you LIKE a clean room. You see profit in it.
You're a good son, because you get it.

You are of the same mind.

That's my reason.

In my case, I was attracted to “wisdom”…. was into reading eastern philosophies, then into logic, then this book of one psychologist, "The Road Less Travelled" , made me interested to read the bible…

The book described “love your enemy” “turn the other cheek”…

I previously understand that as being passive, inactiondo not do unto others” = these are eastern philosophies

But with Jesus, it is all action: “Do unto others” , that is: Love is always Action.

“Turn the other cheek” may have different meaning to different people, but the idea is there: there is corresponding action, Love is always Active.
