Why did Simon get the title Peter?

Hi I am notthe best to ask, but i am sure someone will know. i had to ask jesus the meaning and what I was told, being called Peter was a symbol of solid foundation, Peter means Rock and to biuld on Rock in those days was good as the house would stand for years. Simon was the rock and Jesus tells me it was also the faith Simon had to speak out when hearing the Spirit speaking. The Spirit told Simon that Jesus was more than a man, so he spoke it and jesus told him well done, it was on the rock of hearing in Spirit that Jesus would biuld His church. Meaning Hearing in Spirit and learning.

Jesus was talking about himself. Just like when they were in the temple and Jesus said, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”

Eph 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
The apostles and prophets are the foundation, but Christ is the chief corner stone.
That is the rock the church is built upon.

If Paul had received the keys of Heaven from Peter then it would be said without a doubt that the Church of God is the Roman Catholic.

No doubt but that fact still remains, that Christ is the corner stone that the builders rejected and when Christ was talking to Simon named Peter for this very purpose He said "upon this rock I will build my Church". Now if lord Jesus was speaking in singular terms it would mean upon this rock (Himself as the corner stone) but He was speaking in plural terms, pointing His intention at Peter in the presence of the other disciples saying upon this rock meaning Peter I will build my Church. Simon was titled Peter from the beginning to be the rock that builds upon the corner stone.
He was speaking to His disciples while Peter was the central subject.
Look at this as if you were there, Peter being pulled out of the group and standing on the right hand side of Lord Jesus as He addresses the group.

Yes, the group was still present, but it’s right there in verses 15, 16, 17.
Verse 15, “saith unto them” (Jesus was speaking to the group)
Verse 16, Peter answered Jesus.

It goes from speaking to “them” to speaking to “him”
His focus was shifted from speaking to the group to speaking to Peter, but it doesn’t shift back to speaking to the group.

The lord never pulled Peter away from the group but directly spoke to him in the midst of the group.Peter in verse 16 answered Him directly from the group and verses 17,18 and 19 Lord Jesus directly spoke to Peter whilst being in the group.
I wounder why this subject has always been controversial? Is it because if it is said that Peter is the rock that the Church of Christ is built on, does it lead to the Catholic Church being the rock?

In Matty 16:16 Peter speaks using the Spirit the same Spirit we all have, the same spirit the rest had back then, Peter was the only one at that time who had the boldness to speak it out loud.
In Matty 16:17 Jesus says well done to peter, because it takes faith to speak of the Spiritual things over that of things we know in knowledge, Peter heard God in Spirit and spoke what he heard. Peter excersised the scripture we know today as Hebrews 11:1
In Matty 16:18 Jesus was clear, it was not Peter nor was it Jesus, it was Peters use of the Spirit.. It reads - 18And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Meaning When we all use the Spirit to live we are more than just people, we become brothers and sisters in Gods own family. Jesus was happy with Peter because he used this Spirit to hear and live. The Church jesus was building was based on us using our Spirit and The Holy Spirit that educates us all. the problem, we have is man made knowledge over many years have taken away the power of this scripture and replaced it with meaning that are of flesh and lame. We who come to God in later life, just except what we are told as this is its meanings and go our way.
Its not about a visable church we all see and touch, the visable church has no power, the visable church in the old days had rules and reg and laws according to them, Jesus wiped that away with His lesson in Spirit. There are other scripture Jesus showed me regarding the man made visable church, One is Lord Lord in your name we did this and we did that etc, and Jesus said to them GET AWAY FROM ME, I never knew you... These guys did many great works, yet Jesus says to them Get away from me ! The church in not of flesh, its of Spirit and living in that Spirit each and everyday of our lives.
When i Christian says to me "Christ has gone to heaven, I can't wait to meet him when he comes back" This tells me he/she is a Christian of the flesh, educated in the ways of men. For Me i see Him in my dreams everyday and I speak to Him in Spirit and hear his words as He teaches me. I do this in Spirit and not of the flesh, Jesus said what is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is Spirit. It has real truth to it.

Being pulled out and standing on the right hand side of Christ is an expression of directness in conjunction with the group. to explain "plural terms"
