Similarly, our souls struggle to escape the physical world and to return to their Divine source. a person's soul emanates from divine light. When their soul engages with Jesus through His shed blood, they won't be Schmucks trying to Schuck.

That's not true about candles flickering flame. However,it is an interesting correlate for them to make.
 
Proverbs 20:27: The human spirit is [a] the lamp of the Lord that sheds light on one’s inmost being. - NIVUK

I interpret this verse to mean that our spirit is a light of God, and it is pure because God is pure. God's light shines on all of us, at all times, and He is always with us.
