I think the psalm means that good workers provide well for their families and loved ones naturally. It of course mainly relates to olden times, it cannot be explicitly applied to today's work ethics. Well i suppose it could be in some senses, like for married couples or people with children or family members that live together. Sleep is rest, rest is the opposite of a burden.
