Prayer for the Heart

Prayer for the Heart

NEED A HOLY SPIRIT FILLED HEART

Heavenly Father, Ancient of Days
The heart of a man is deceitful above all things
Only You God who knows it
You search the heart and test motives and thoughts
O Father I need a heart filled with Your Spirit.

LORD I understand and agree my heart is wicked
Therefore LORD I repent-renew my heart
Take away this stony heart from me
Put a new heart and new Spirit
O God circumcise this heart by Your Spirit

Evil must not be found in my heart,
May it be pure, O LORD wash it
By the blood of Jesus Christ
Cleanse my heart, I am such a sinner
O sinner I am, and disobedient person, forgive me LORD

Lies still proceed from my heart
Remove this filthiness in my heart
My heart is full of pride and selfish ambitions
O Gracious God purge me with hyssop
Renew steadfast Spirit in me

I don’t want to meditate on evil anymore
But only on Your word
Only on Your precepts and statutes
Put a heart that will believe You and Love You always
I need a Holy Spirit filled heart

LORD You looks at the heart of man
It must be the altar where I offer my meditations
And they must smell as a sweet aroma to You
May You rejoice on my heart
Father I pray in the name above every name-Jesus Christ

It must be a place where I put pillars of remembrance
Whenever I have an encounter with You
Whenever I have wrestled with You
Then offer offering of Praise on this heart
LORD I need a Holy Ghost filled heart

My Lord Fill it with the Holy Spirit
When Your Light comes out like the sun
May the dew-Your Word-evaporates from it
And return to You not void
But with my character changed to Your likeliness

May if be full of grain offering
With every deed of my body and meditations be unleavened
May it offer firstfruits of thanksgiving prayer and praise every second
Lord I repent; I am a sinner-transform me to a better person
May I decrease and You grow in me, each and everyday

May this heart be sensitive to the voice of the Spirit
Because the Spirit speak Your heart
O Lord how can I miss Your counsel?
By Your counsel I live-I need You Father God
In Christ Jesus name I pray

Amen

Hi Nathi,

The Holy Spirit has spoken to my heart. You talked of believing not being enough. You may enjoy the following meaning of "genuine belief."

The word "believe" is an interesting Biblical word that has been relegated to simply a "mental assent" to truth. A sort of intellectualism and traditionalism. Many people "mentally" believe that Jesus died on the cross, but their life does not change. They may lead "moral" lives and have a good reputation but they do not "hunger and "thirst after righteousness."

However, the enemy of all righteousness has stolen the true Biblical meaning of "belief." Let's not let him have that power to destroy "genuine belief."

The Bible describes belief as more than a mental assent to truth as I have stated. For example:

"For with the HEART [not just mental] one 'believes' unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Rom. 10:10 (Remember: believing and having faith is the same word in the original language, pistis).

Hence, God's definition of "believing" is far different than man's humanistic powerless meaning. The apostle Paul's powerful idea of believing or having faith is built on the foundation of Jesus' definition of the revelation of God's love must come firs, for no man can believe without it.

Then "faith [genuine Biblical belief] ... worketh by love." Galatians 5:6. The word "worketh" is the word energeo. Another words, genuine belief is ENERGIZED by Love. Not human love but God's love (agape).

Because faith (believing) is not a superficial, sentimental emotion, it grips human hearts at its deepest level of affection and profound feeling. That love is revealed at the cross, "whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood." Romans 3:25.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever [genuinely] believes will not perish but have everlasting life."

I believe that the most famous verse in the Bible is probably the least understood in it's deepest meaning. It has to do with serving God with unending energy and love for mankind.

blessings to you in Christ,
John

Nathi.... That is a wonderful a wonderful prayer and if my memory serves me right you have written poems on other threads as well. Have you ever thought of conpiling them all in a book ?

I think I mentioned it before as well that if we could have a place for gifted people like you. Or even if you could just make a thread of Nathi's work.... That would be so inspiring.

Thankyou for the Blessing.

I don't know about that, sometimes, this things are the way for me to know the scriptures, not necessary for people, maybe for now,.actually I don't have works, its Him who works:D:).....But who knows maybe if He is willing He can put them into a book:) just for you Dusty

Wrestling with God

Hi Nathi,

The story of Jacob is a great account of "wrestling" with God. There are some churches that do a lot of wrestling with the enemy. God has not asked us to do such a thing. We have nothing in us, all the authority is Christ's, which works in us by the power of the Holy Spirit.

The promise is: “To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame and am set down with my Father in his throne.†Rev. 3:21. Now the word “Israel†signifies, “a prince of God,†or “one who prevails.†It was given to Jacob after he had wrestled all night with the angel, and had gained the victory. The Lord said to him: “Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel; for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.†Gen. 32:28. Therefore an overcomer is an Israelite; and the promise is that to those who are Israelites Christ will grant to sit with him on his throne.

Yeah that's true, an overcomer is an Israelite, filled with an Holy Spirit, full of authority and dominion, the word fear does not exist in their life..

God's Work

Hi Nathi,

Well said about works, "I don't have works, it's Him who works"

A quote by a Christian author:

On one occasion the Jews said unto Jesus, “What shall we do that we might work the works of God?” Just the thing that we want to know. Mark the reply: “This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.” John 6:28, 29. Would that these words might be written in letters of gold and kept continually before the eyes of every struggling Christian. The seeming paradox is cleared up. Works are necessary, yet faith is all-sufficient, because faith does the work.

The words of Paul to the Philippians, “Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling,” are often quoted by those who forget the words immediately following, “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” Phil. 2:12, 13. God himself does the good works which, when exhibited in the lives of men, render them pleasing to him. So the Saviour said: “But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.” John 3:21. .... End Quote

Even Praying, the Spirit prays for me, wake me at night to pray, create the desire for me to read the Bible, speak new things in my mind every second, reason is for Him, to grow and be visible in me...I'll never credit myself for anything..God is all things in my life..all I need to do open my heart..he will nurture me till, I conquore

Obedient-Is Opening yourself to God to nature you inorder to conquore...Humility, those are the characteristics that will make Him be able to do the works in my Life.

I think I mentioned it before as well that if we could have a place for gifted people like you. Or even if you could just make a thread of Nathi's work.... That would be so inspiring.

Ok so maybe that wasn't the best chosen word..... "works." MAybe I should have said God's inspirations given to Nathi.... Sorry about that. But it is a good idea to maybe have a thread with all the poems and prayers that God has given you Nathi. God has given you a special gift of writing and I personally would love to read more of them. Just my thought.

You are a blessing . And Thanks again.

Yes Nathi.... God is all we need in our lives and humility is what the Master requires as we remember His humility when He washed the disciples feet.

Obedience is also important as you said as when we obey our Lord in all that He asks , He gives us greater tasks as He can see that you love Him and want to follow his commands.
You can work for Him so that He produces fruits of the Spiriit.in your life.

Obedience is Listening

Hi Nathi,

You have stated some profound truths, this is not to flatter you, God is disappointed with the worlds charms and flattery, but simply to encourage you to follow the path you have chosen in Christ Jesus.

Obedience is an oft misunderstood word. Sort of a "get your life in order" or "behave yourself and be good."

I like your definition and seems to be synonymous with the Bible's definition, for example:

In Exodus 19:1-8 Moses was to tell the children of Israel the Lord's words when he came down from the mountain.

"Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto Me above all people: for all the earth is mine" Ex. 19:5

The Hebrew word translated "obey My voice" means "LISTEN to My voice" (shamea), and the Hebrew word translated "keep my covenant" means "cherish My covenant" (shamar). God was saying to the people in a sense, "If you will listen to my voice and cherish my covenant-promise I gave to Abraham, you will be a special people.

But the people did not understand that it was God's promise, and He would fulfill it in them. Our promises are worth nothing, for they actually shut out the promises of God. Surely God's promises are good enough! 2 Peter 1:4.

The people responded together, and said, "All that the LORD hath spoken WE WILL DO.. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD ... " The Lord said to Moses, "I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak ... And Mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke ... fire ... the whole mount quaked greatly" Ex. 19 and on.

Abraham needed none of this earth shaking demonstration because he "genuinely believed" and it accounted to him for righteousness. He did not respond like the Israelites, "All that the Lord has said, WE WILL DO." The people misunderstood the covenant-promises, they had been in slavery for a long time. May we not be caught up in a faith PLUS works mentality. It is always faith WHICH works in Christ.

Then the great commandments of God came in full force to show their total inability to keep them in their own strength. Only in Christ, and in His promises can we keep God's commands. As you have put it Nathi. It is God working in us that does the work.

.... pertaining to the word humility, it has different meanings, but one of them is "to bend the knee, to bring down low." That certainly can pertain to prayer. I believe that meaning is certainly involved.

blessings,
John

Hi John:)

Regarding Humility, the definition I have is this[ffrom Him ofcourse:)]:It's

H-Having
U-Unshakable
M-Maturity
I-In
L-Loving and
I-In
T-Trusting
Y-Yahweh

The world Love and Trust-Involves as you say "To bend the knee, to bring down low" which is prayer, people who trust and love God-they pray to God, even for small things e.g if they can't find a pen in their bedroom, they only know it's God who can show them where it is, without stressing much to look something they have forgotten, only God who can remind them, So everything they give it to God, they speak to God about everything like their speaking to their friends, they tell Him what made them happy during the day, they even share the Jokes that made them laugh during the day or night, before they even tell people about their day, they tell God first..it does not matter if it's a Good day or Bad day.....

The problem we think we can talk to God only about our problem, but He is always willing for us to tell Him everything that has made us happy and things that troubled us[Even though He knows them, but when yo tell Him about what made You laugh today it shows You trust Him and Love Him more than anything, and He becomes the Closest friend you'll ever had..centainly He is and He is greater than a human friend and parants]..it does not matter you can give all details...If you can give all details about the day at work to your wife..why not God? I can advise anyone to start tell God first everything even things you concider small, I tell you'll always feel He is next to You wherever you are..actually He is always there it's just that we ignore Him, we even forget to greet Him:eek:, but when trouble comes we call on Him., that's how bad we are, but He is faithful as ever and Merciful as ever, He wil never change, Jesus in same yesterday, today and forever.

Some of us when we get sick, the first thing we do is to ruch for medication then pray after that..but actually it's suppose to be the other way round..in everything they call on God and pray, talk to Him, talking to Him it's joy [praying is not easy on your own strenght, but when you have finsh, you feel Joy and Peace, you feel like you can fly, you cast any sickness in Jesus name in that time, praying and singing in spirit it's joy]..when you have headache before you take a tablet you pray to God first to remove the root of sickness, because tablet remove symptoms which is pain..that is why it comes back after three weeks, you had never prayed to kill the root of the sickness, only God can remove it....For a christian, God is first in everything even things you concider small....

Even when making the budget you make it with Him, because He knows things that you don't know you need, He will remind/tell you that this is important, this is not, so that you wont waste money for useless things. When you go to buy clothes you buy them with Him, in every area of your life, he is first to know your thoughts, from your mouth, and he will correct you or approve them, and say wait, if you suppose to wait[He knows everything even before you say it, but saying it frees you and give you joy and peace, so praying its to help a believer actually, because He do things for you, even without you having prayed, when He wakes you to pray for certain accident about to happen, it's not that He needs you to stop it, but He wakes you, for your own benefit-to be inline with Him and have peace,Joy and confidence in yourself..centailny praying is joyfull, it brings authority and dominion on a believer.....God knew that there was only Lot and His daughters who will survive in Sodom and Gomorrah, but He allowed Abraham to interced-this actually helped abraham faith to grow, not that God didn't know only Lot was righteous in that place-see what am trying to say-Praying helps a believr and builds a believer]

I'm also convicted in that too..I need to do all the above

Amen..Jesus Christ is LORD of Lords...I Love Him more than anything.....Heavenly Father You are Love, without you where would I be? Thank you for being merciful and faithful to me..I Love you

Note, I am sorry to right so long post, sometimes it's just the way I am, when I peak about God everyhthing stops:D

Nathi.... Thankyou so much for all those little nuggets of truth that the Lord has given you. I just wanted to comment about the prayer about all things as I know it is so true.

That is what I want to relate as I am always loosing stuff ( having a senior's moment ) and God is interested in the small stuff as well as the big. He has shown me where I miss placed things so many times that I have lost count. Some were important documents and after I would say to myself .... " Now why did I put them there?' We serve a big God .... bigger than all our problems but small enough to be our closest friend and He is concerned about the mundane that we think is not important. He told me once " All you have to do is ask". My God is an awesome God.

Exodus 15:11
"Who among the gods is like you, O LORD ? Who is like you— majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?

Deuteronomy 7:21
Do not be terrified by them, for the LORD your God, who is among you, is a great and awesome God.

Deuteronomy 10:17
For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality and accepts no bribes.

Deuteronomy 10:21
He is your praise; he is your God, who performed for you those great and awesome wonders you saw with your own eyes.

Thanks Nathi for your post. Very uplifting

That why He is Omnipotent and Great......He comforts even unsaved when they cry whole night...Merciful as ever..I love Him:D
