Trials and Troubles more precious than gold

Sure they kept some, as was their right. They could have kept it all if the wanted. It was their land to do with what they wished. That they kept some of the proceeds for themselves is not the issue.
So, why did they feel the need to lie?

A. They wanted to keep a portion / not share all their wealth out for the commune.
B. They did not want to keep a portion.
C. It was that time of the day and they just felt like lying.

You have said / agreed that those who don't apply '''''concepts of faith''' are on par with the prodigal son...

You have suggested those who are poor cannot be Christians...

Must I make a list of my grievances?

1 Tim 6:3 If any one teaches otherwise and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching which accords with godliness, he is puffed up with conceit, he knows nothing; he has a morbid craving for controversy and for disputes about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, base suspicions, and wrangling among men who are depraved in mind and bereft of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain.

People in poverty come to Christ every day! In their faithful walk with Jesus, praise God they do not remain that way. God supplies all our needs---and more.

You are terribly misinformed about the ways of God toward His precious people.

They lied to the Holy Spirit by insisting to Him by their attitudes that they were more generous to the body of Christ than they were.

So they wanted to appear more generous because:

A. They wanted to keep a portion / not share all their wealth out for the commune.
B. They did not want to keep a portion.
C. It was that time of the day and they just felt like appearing more generous

Ananias and Sapphira DIED because they wanted to hold onto their wealth. It is staring you square in the face and yet you still refuse to deal with it.

Or I just know who I am in Christ. I don't have to be a super Jew and muster up faith. I can relax and sleep soundly in my faith, despite what comes my way. Poverty, stones, lions...whatever.

Convenient how you partake of the blessing and not the curses. God does not change. But God had to pour out extra blessing on the Jews because a. They were surrounded by enemies and b. They were in a rather literal relationship with Him. Do X = die. Do Y = blessed.

Now you want to treat God like they did? Like all the cross achieved is to cancel out the curses? C'mon.

Why should I partake of the curses? They were nailed to the cross.

I should think if God was as you portray Him, He does change. Tsk Tsk Tsk.

No, Ananias and Sapphira had every right to keep ALL the money if they wanted. Their desire to keep some is not in question.

I know who I am in Christ, and that is a work done in my heart by the Holy Spirit.

Faith is never something one must muster up.

Euphemia, lets cut to the chase.

Please give me clear and simple answers.

1. Did Steven lack faith for God to help Him escape his stoning?
2. Did the early Christians who died to lions lack the faith of Daniel?
3. How do we love God and become children of God?
4. Do you care for the needs of your nervous and stuttering children differently to the others? And then what of your rude children? Do some receive smaller birthday presents?
5. Would you think a child who has to ask for food, shelter and medical attention has a caring parent?

A new covenant is a new covenant.

Under the old covenant it was eye for an eye / ask God for X and He gives you X.

In the new covenant we are told to give expecting nothing back! We are to trust God is with us despite what happens. We have moved on to knowing the heart of God. We have joy and peace that surpasses all understanding.... because it makes no logical sense.... because it is not based at all on carnal treasures.

We don't need to hold God to ''''promises'''''. We know He loves us. We know He is almighty.

1. No, his faith carried him through the stoning.
2. Nope.
3. We become children of God and love Him through the Holy Spirit's power that instills faith in us.
4. For any children who have suffered difficulties I speak faith and God's word over them for wholeness, just as I do for everyone. Rude children get discipline.
5. A child has the right to expect food and shelter and medical attention because of the love of the parent. He can ask for any of his needs and expect them to be met, because of the love relationship and the trust that is there. My children asked me for food when they were hungry, even though I knew they were hungry. They asked me because I was their loving caregiver. I was pleased to give it to them because they were mine, and because they were precious to me, I enjoyed lavishing them with good things---which they did ask for and for which they didn't.

Right. So, what's your point?

We don't need to hold God to ''''promises'''''. We know He loves us. We know He is almighty.

God wants us to know what His promises are, and to hold to them. Remember them. Many people are completely unaware of them. We speak the word of God over our needs, remembering the promises and He brings them to pass.

Brother Jesus told His disciples this that we know of ONE TIME. He was teaching them that they were working for Him and they could count on Him to take care of them. If this was the way God did everything today none of us would ever have to give to any one but then again there is a flip side to your statement as well.

Where did those things that Jesus supplied to His disciples come from ? Some one had to give.
The disciples collected from various churches, remember. Churches also helped them along to get to other cities and churches, remember.
Do you think everyone in those early churches had the riches to give oodles of cash? Most likely not, just like in the day of today.
Ananias and Sapphira had every right to keep all the money to themselves if they wanted. Their lie was that they gave the entire proceeds of their sale to the church.

The lie though started in their hearts.
Hang on, that's where murderous thoughts start, and also adulterous thought, even covetous ones.
Can you believe it, the heart can be a black dark cauldron from where the devil drinks.

Sorrrrrrrrrrry KJU but that was you who twisted what was said into poor people can not be Christians.

Hmm I seem to remember rteading how they toldthem in advance to get their offerings ready so yea I beleive they had wonderful offerings to give and by the way what is this oodles of cash bit ?

oodles means a great bit fat lots.
Sorry I thought it was a known word as IE spell check did not protest.
LOL NO I meant why did you use it. They give from what they have and were told in advance to get the offerings ready and from I have found they took these offerings very serious. SoI would believe they were pretty nice offerings.

The issue that has been going back and forth is only wanting just enough for ME and My Family to get by and NO more. That kind of thinking is selfish, wouldn't you think when God tellsus clearly many times He will give backunto us or bless us with more then we need so we can bless others. All I was saying as well if you only want a tiny little bit to just get by on then so be it, but why not believe God for more and simply give it back to God through a ministry or out reach program or what have you.

Arrie I believe the problem that has arised in here stems from a hand full who know nothing of Gods Blessing or believe we have to operate with in Gods promises to activate them and NOT simply lay around and if God wants me to have this or be well He will just do it. I know you well enough to know you do not believe this way.

Truths of His written word have been said only to be twisted into saying something else over and over and over again then others chime in and make replies on what some have twisted as if it was said this way to start with.

Arrie you have a blessed day and rejoice for this is a Day that God Not only has given you but has Trusted you with.
Blessings

My original post just meant, that even though those offerings were collected and those churches helped the disciples on to the others and so forth, in those congregations you likely would have found rich and poor together. So not everyone in those congregations would have had a lot of coin to contribute, they likely would have still contributed.
At this point in my walk, I'm utterly focussed on healing and deliverance and the spiritual gifts associated with that, and as such, I do not even think about money.
I know I'll reach that point as all riches on earth belong to God my Father any case.
It's a priorities thing - far to many sick and bondaged people in this here old country, so my heart is at that place, along with the church stool seat warmer. Having to one day see someone that joined you for coffee end up not completing the race, well that brings hurt to my heart, and I know I sit next to them in church on Sundays.
You are where your heart is at, and that ends up on your tongue.

Hmm I see Euphemia does have twink in her bible.
No worry, just as I suspected. She doesnt see the point in reading it, just wants to be a Jew. Well, go live in Israel then. If all the blessings of Deuteronomy apply, then all the Curses are going to apply too, and she will need to adhere to the law and follow all 613 commandments. Otherwise, it IS going to be seven times worse for her.
Nothing unholy can ever come from her lips. After all a Jewish princess ought to live in a literal Kingdom.

If she wont read those verses in Acts, maybe she wont even read James, then nothing I say will make a difference. Where your treasure is, there your heart is also.

I dont need to make 'positive confession' and hold God to his promises. he has already sent His son! i know everything will go according to His plan! I dont need to manipulate God, just trust Him! His grace is sufficient for me! Now I live day by day by faith in Him, so, Im not missing out on anything here.

I know some churches, collect cash and it just goes to one person, the pastor. Then the pastor buys a flash house and car, and says thats evidence of Gods blessing. Lol. So not!!!
