The written Word God vs Jesus as the Word of God

Hebrew 4:12 - "For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart."
John 5:39 - "You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me"
The word of God takes many forms. God speaks to us through the prophets, through the Holy Spirit, through scripture, etc. And of course, through His Son, Jesus Christ. These are all the word of God. Jesus is given the title of "Word" in John 1:1, “In the beginning was the Word. And the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.”

Would you consider the written Word of God to be "living"?
Yes, because it says so right there in Hebrews 4:12
The written Word of God is more reliable than any of those because the Holy Spirit and "visions" could end up being from yourself, and the Word can never go wrong.
What I consider the most sure of all is: the Holy Spirit testifying of and confirming the written Word of God.
That is true. But I am just saying that the Word is the most reliable.
This was going to be my response. You need both. The Holy Spirit reveals the written Word to you.
Brother Juk, that is exactly what I believe as well because of this scripture.....
2Pe 1:16.. For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
2Pe 1:17.. For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
2Pe 1:18.. And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.
How can you ever go wrong when you have a vision of the risen Lord in all his Glory, along with Moses, and Elijah? Then you have the voice of God saying, "this is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased". This would be the ultimate confirmation to anyone.
But Peter says, "We have also a more sure word of prophecy;" In other words what he experienced on the Mt of transfiguration was true, but the written Word of God is more "sure" than any kind of spiritual experiences we could have!!
It is very easy to be deceived through visions and voices, but the written Word of God is absolutely unbend able, and can never be moved.
Then he tell us that "you will do well that you take heed" unto these prophecies that were written down before.
2Pe 1:18.. And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.
2Pe 1:19.. We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
There is nothing wrong with visions and revelations given by the Spirit of God, but real "acid" test is, is it confirmed in the written Word of God?
Curtis this is true IF the one searching the written word of God is able to spiritually discern or gain spiritual insight of this word for it is hidden from the world and those using human reasoning and so forth so with out the help of the Holy spirit one will not unlock truths in His word...
Which is more important ? the lock or the key ?
They are equally important, as the lock is meant to keep everyone out that doesn't have the key [emoji6] lol.
EXACTLY MY POINT........The Holy Spirit is the key that unlocks the truth hidded or locked away in the written word of God.
As we already know when the Holy Spirit comes he will guide us into all the truth. That truth being "the Word of God". Having truth revealed to us is always by the Spirit of God, but there will be times in which what is being revealed is not directly the result of the Word, but of spiritual activity. Having visions of Jesus, or of the Kingdom of God, and hearing voices these will always have to be subject to the only true "standard" that we have which is the written Word of God.
The word of God is perfect in the originals. The Word of God is perfect in every way. The word of God will always point you to the Word of God. Not everything is in the word of God. Everything is in the Word of God. The word of God will be completed. The Word of God is complete. You don't need the word of God. You must have the Word of God. The word of God will be done with and forgotten. The Word of God is eternal and will be praised forever. The word of God is not God. The Word of God is God.
