Beware Erroneous Gospel Part 2

Satan could have no greater impact than by working through one who, in ignorance, preachs the gospel or even misstates what is the Truth of the gospel.
The high crime of dealing damnation to the souls of men in the name of Jesus is one thousandfold greater crime than any evil that could be mentioned.
Sinners are to be saved by a birthing. It is Satan's device to complicate this simple fact with the lesser issues of Christian living.
Thus, so many have ignored the necessity of a birthing and have plucked out scriptures which say, Do this, don't do that, and you'll be a Christian.
Thereby, they not only misstate the truth but also assist in damning souls.
According to the Scriptures, Christians are confronted with a twofold danger.
On one hand, they may go the way of that you're irresponsible, careless Gentiles.
On the other hand, they may go into the legality of the Jews.
They may walk as do Gentiles, or they may fall from grace. They are worn as much against the one mistake as the other.
The doctrines of the Christ life maybe so perverted that, while there is a holy horror of slipping into careless sin, it is deemed most Pius to assume the cursing burden of the law.
Through all the years I have preached, I have witnessed this calamity, for there have always been those so anxious to keep people walking in the light of their own particular interpretations of the scriptures that they do nothing but place a heavier burden upon the believer, the burden of law.

Well said!
Grace upon grace is what we build our faith upon.

Christians need to start showing the love, grace, and mercy of Christ instead of trying to live and condemn others to a law that has already been dealt with...

We are to act according to His new covenant because He first forgave us and we should portray the light of His grace and mercy to a world blinded by darkness. Instead of judging others for sin, we need to realize that even we fail and require to repent for our sins.

The power of the church is locked up in the gospel of grace and by walking in love like Jesus...

Hi brother Nobleman,
I have read this over and over a few times now and I still do not understand the point you are making.

Each time I think I get it, well I think about it and end up with, nah that ain't it. :)

What am I not seeing here?
Will you help me to understand what you are saying in all this? Pleeeease! !

What I understood is that many Christians try to get others to still keep the law to be saved instead of focusing on the finished work of the cross. Many churches still preach a gospel of works that says we need to keep certain rules and then we will be healed or whatever we trust God for. This becomes a burden on Christans instead of resting in the work of Jesus.

Hebrews 4:9-11 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

The law says that we must keep certain rules to earn righteousness, but grace says we must have faith in Jesus and He becomes our righteousness.

Maybe this helps or I also missed it completelyo_O

Not trying to be smart Jim, but can't you see what is happening in the body of Christ. There are more born again believers outside the building than inside, there is a reason for that and I'm writing about it.
To those that are being blessed by what ever thing they belong too, I say great, wonderful, but there is a very strong possibility that will end one day. I'm writing to those folks who for whatever the reason have left organized religion.
I think our brother Corne Goosen gave a good explanation.

A lot of Christians do not truly understand the gospel. I have studied this in detail and the gospel that many tout is based on a false understanding of sin. As a result, many people are walking around thinking they are saved when they are not. Many do not like to hear this but we need to humble ourselves and study the word putting away our preconceived opinions. The false Gospel is not that good works is necessary for salvation, the false Gospel is salvation by works.

Heb 4:9-11 is no way endorsing a putting-a-way of all works. That is clear when you consider the rest of the verse: " Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest" This lets us know that there is a work to be done, and a work to abstain from as Christians.

Blessings,

With a quiet tone of voice, I state you have misinterpreted Hebrews 4.

Hebrews 4:1

Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

The Hebrews author taught how disbelief in the Gospel resulted in not entering into His Rest. The Eternal Gospel is and has always been about faith. A time will come when the promise of entering into His Rest will not be available to mankind.

An example of the sanctification process, Hebrews 4:9-11 prepares Christians to act in Jesus' will, to teach the Gospel--especially to those in the presence of Christians who have a hardened heart of disbelief.

Your talking about the gospel like whatever comes down the pike of any pulpit, anywhere, anytime is the gospel.
Im saying they deliver bits and pieces (mostly psychology) at best, and not many follow Paul as instructed in the scriptures.
And we have a bunch of mixed up, chaotic, and confused believers that do not know what to believe.

If I have been taught by Apostle Paul that only men may become Elders and Pastors, that women can only teach children's ministries and women's ministries, how can what I posted above effectively amount to a reference to any Gospel down the pike of any pulpit? That's just one example. And I am quite aware many do not agree.

Hope you are not traveling on any dirt roads today. ;)

Thank you for your Christian tact:). I really really appreciate it. I actually enjoy these discussions when done with the right heart. So again, thank you! On to your comment...

You brought up the point that the eternal Gospel is about faith, which I agree with you 110%. This actually segways into another discussion about what is faith and to understand that, we need to understand the context of Heb 4. Heb 4, as you probably already know, is a continuation of the thought in Heb 3. And in that chapter, the author (who I believe is Paul) tells us why they did not enter the promised land. Oh that we may understand this principal. Let's analyze the text.

Heb 3:
15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.

17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?

18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?

19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Go to exodus and the book of numbers and study all the sins of Israel. Their sins boiled down to not following the directions of the Lord, why? because of unbelief aka lack of Faith. Instead, they did their own thing and followed after their own works, not God's works which we do by faith.

Faith is not a mere mental assent, it is a rearranging of your whole motives, it is a new birth experience, a rewashing and a regeneration, that we obey the Lord with all our heart and all our souls and all our might.

Hence, "Heb 4:9-11 is no way endorsing a putting-a-way of all works. Instead, it lets us know that there is a work to be done, and a work to abstain from as Christians. We abstain of "our own works," and do the works of God.

This is what the text says plainly, don't you think? Blessings to you!

Greetings MoG,
First things first.
Awesome display of walking in Love. Thank you!!

Far too many brethren look at fear with merely a natural carnal mind. They use today's meanings and miss what is being taught in the most Holy written word of God.

They tend to say fear is a good thing and play off doubt as something for the unsaved. Foolish thinking like that can get one into trouble real quick.

They won't grasp that one work of faith is not only standing on God's word but making it Final Choice over everything.

You can believe in your heart (spirit man) and have doubt in your head and see the victory. Because once one recognizes the doubt in their thinking they cast it down and speak God's word and are not moved.

Now then head faith and doubt in your heart will not get you the victory and head faith is not really biblical faith any way.

Don't know why I got over here in this but there it is.
I will reply again once I remember what it was I wanted to add with what you said. Lol
Blessings Brother

Yes, I enjoy fellowship! It's rough going at times.

Fellowship is something I hope to find here!

You had stated earlier that some people think they are saved and are not due to a misunderstanding of teachings about sin. Do you consider Christians adhere to any portion of the Law?

Wish I was an encyclopedic wordsmith skilled with a sense of humor. My humor is country grown--looking at the best of things, and coarse.

When I consider the sins of Israel, I recall these Scriptures:

Deuteronomy 29:4 (Concerning the Covenant)

Yet the LORD hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.

Deuteronomy 29:14-15 (How All of Israel had to keep the Law in order not to be cursed)

Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath;

But with him that standeth here with us this day before the LORD our God, and also with him that is not here with us this day:

Israel receives all of the blessings and all of the curses, because not all of Israel can keep the Law. Only Jesus can complete the Father's will.

John 4:34

Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

Jesus said, "It is finished"

We rest in Jesus. Otherwise we are cursed if we adhere to the Law.

Galations 3:10

For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

My actions as a Christian are supposed to be actions that are founded in Scripture, which will be tested by fire.

I maintain the Hebrews author was teaching us to share the gospel, especially to those who disbelieve.

Through all the years I have preached, I have witnessed this calamity, for there have always been those so anxious to keep people walking in the light of their own particular interpretations of the scriptures that they do nothing but place a heavier burden upon the believer, the burden of law.

@Noblemen

It is still Wednesday in my area of the Ozarks. Tomorrow when you start your day, I hope the weather is decent and remains so. I also hope you will come across information about believers who are being encouraged and not burdened.

Incidentally, do you know what rest he is referring to in Heb 4:9:11? (Hint: it parallels Heb 3:11,19) Blessings, MoG

Hebrews 3:11,19

They did not enter into the Land of Canaan, because of their unbelief. This type of rest is a picture of 4:3,9 and 4:7,9.

Hebrews 4:3-10 We learn of a Sabbath rest for the people of God. We are reminded of when David repeated the call to enter into His rest. Having faith in His promises, we enter into His rest. Receiving His gift of salvation, we enter into His rest. 4:7,9.

As a matter of fact I live on a dirt road lol, fair enough I respect your thoughts.

I lived in West Siloam Springs, which is the Oklahoma side, Siloam Springs being the Arkansas side. Beautiful State and I enjoyed the people, did most of my business in Arkansas.
Bless you dear brother, I appreciate the input you guys bring.

to save them to the uttermost
that come unto God by Him,
seeing He ever liveth
to make intercession for them.'

(Heb 7:25)

Hello @Noblemen,

God knows those who are His.
He is able to deliver them and bring them through to the truth that is in Christ Jesus.
He will shake away the error, and reveal the truth.

'Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure,
having this seal,
'The Lord knoweth them that are His.'
And,

'Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.'
(2 Tim.2:19)

He is able.
'Praise His Name!'

In Christ Jesus
Chris
