Question on Scripture

When God gives you a scripture that is just for you and personal to you, how do you walk in that scripture / blessing?
How do you take a hold of it as yours and gain the blessing of what God is giving you / saying to you?

The best thing is to ask God how to impliment or apply this to your life, how does He desire for you to walk this out. Unless its a specific action like learning to stand or accept God's grace for you, or do/don't do this type of activity.

God gave me this scripture. He actually told me this twice as confirmation.
Psalm 81:10King James Version (KJV)
10 I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

How do I walk in that?

The open thy mouth wide is about receiving and trusting Him to do the filling. Now just thank Him for helping you to know how to or in what area He is desiring you to be receiving in. And trust Him to lead you into all truth as in John 16:13-15 and james 1:5.

Not sure why, but today I am just anxious. I always plan out everything. I have a spreadsheet or a plan for everything. It's so hard for me to be still and slow. I struggle with always needing to be in the KNOW at all times. I hate surprises. I like everything mapped out.
I am just weird like that, I guess.

Not really for I am that way also. I like to plan things out in advance. Especially in things like going to the grocery store. It really helps when one is on a budget.

When walking by the spirit, sometimes God says go... And He already has it all planned out... And if we are at a place of not being in a big hurry, we will be able to hear His directions.

It's when we are in a hurry, we can tend to not hear correctly and miss what God is saying. Because the enemy will try to get in there and mess us up too. So we have to be attentive and adapted to know His voice (inner leading), so that if we think anything is amiss or does not sound quite right.. we can ask God for clarification.

I know for me that is one of the reasons why He is teaching me to stay still before Him, and teaching me to listen better. I have to learn to check in my spirit before doing things... cuz He will never steer us wrong

You are right, 100%. Once in prayer at church I heard the word Stillness in my spirit. I knew God was telling me to be still before him. I don't even know how to do that really. I was trying for a while and then got lazy and quit. I need to get back to it. I think I am on the verge of some great blessings and the enemy is throwing so many distractions at me right now..... I really have no time to feel sorry for myself and I know how stupid it is. Thanks for the great words from you and Jim. I greatly appreciate it.

You will/are doing great, sometimes the biggest step is realizing what is going on with us/what we are doing that we need to turn around, and then making the choice to turn it around.

I am so blessed beyond words. God has truly been so so good to me. I have no idea why I get into these funks. Just stupid on my part.
I have to do better and learn to remember everything we discussed yesterday. I have to push through these days and remember the TRUTH.

Those funky days are just the enemy attacking us. Tempting us to feel sorry for ourselves which takes us out of the faith and thanksgiving/praising realm and into us putting words and statements out there that are not filled with faith. And if the enemy can get us into speaking doubt.. we have contaminated our faith and will be waiting longer for whatever we were standing in faith for. Its all a trick from the enemy. And your not alone. Many of us have to get into better practice of keeping ourselves in the faith realm instead of the evil doubt realm.

Think about how the Bible has many places of guard your heart and don't speak evil (or non faith filled) or perverted words. Evil and perverted has another meaning.. both refer to non faith filled words or words that are opposite of what Jesus or the Bible says.

And if the enemy can get us into a pity party... we mess up what God is trying to do on our behalf, because we have contaminated our faith. Our angels cannot obey words of doubt, only words of faith.

Blessings to you!

Hi,
I looked at the whole chapter for some context. 81 starts off with direction to make music, sing and make noise of celebration to the Lord. Then a reminder of where and what God brought His people out from. Then finishes with the promise of blessings for heeding the Lord.
To break the verse down in parts:
I am the Lord thy God---a reminder of who your God is. Don't have other gods interfering in your life.

which brought thee out of the land of Egypt---Egypt is a representation of bondage. God brought you out of the bondage which corrupted you. This keeps us humble, for where would we be without the deliverance?

open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.---The mouth can signify eating or being fed, and also words or song coming out of your mouth. Filling your mouth could mean being spiritually fed. This could also mean He will give words for you to say.
Matthew 10:18 You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles. 19 But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; 20 for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.

How do you walk in this??
This seems more of a grounding or a foundation for your attitude. Who is God and what has He done for you.
And, be open for God to instill in you what you need, then live it.

Just what I was led to deliver. I hope this blesses you richly.

Your post reminded me of what my dad said to me and of this scripture, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" Psalm 119:105. The lamp's light might only shine a foot or so in front of us, we will only know where to step next, God is the only one who can see the whole picture. So you take a step at a time, but only when he lights the step for you. You can't run ahead because you can't see anything.

It's walking in faith.

I had great prayer time yesterday in the car on my way home from work. Great conversations yesterday, thanks so much. It really lifted me up and helped me out of my funk.:)

Hello CoffeeDrinker;

For years this is one of the scriptures the Lord assured me when I talk of it, but He slowly matured me to walk of it. So in every circumstance, I go to Him first to see what He says first, or how He will guide my path or what comes out of my mouth.

Proverbs 8:17, 17 I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me.

Years past and today I still talk to God regarding this verse and am confident God is always there when I seek Him.

CoffeeDrinker, God bless you for being happy as you drove home! Many drivers are thinking of their problems, finances, talking on their cell phones, road rage. But I find that when we pray to the Lord, or listen to worship music while driving, I think of the blue skies, green trees, the birds and praise God for His creation! We actually are witnesses for Christ on the road or freeway.

Hello DavidC, your post blessed me and am in accord. I also spoke to my Dad earlier last Thursday and was paraphrasing to me the same Psalms and then that evening the preacher on the radio just gave a sermon on Psalm 119:105.
I wanted to share this with you and everyone.

God bless you both and thank you.

Hi CoffeeDrinker,
Remembering 1 Kings 11-13 (RSV) helps me. Note how God is speaking to Elijah this time and so it is not to say that God can't sometimes speak in the earthquake, a wind, a storm, or a fire but here He speaks in the "still small voice." I believe and it has been my experience that this is often how I know it is God who is speaking; so especially when I am seeking Him on a specific matter I do choose to get myself prayerfully in a quiet place as I wait for His "still small voice."

"And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and broke in pieces the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. And when Eli′jah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. " 1 Kings 11-13.

It is always easier to hear anyone's voice let alone God's when we are quiet and there aren't a lot of noise and distractions going on around us. :)

How do you walk in a word given by God? Just do it. Like the Nike commercial says, just do it.

A word to the young here. God will never answer the question "why". I don't even bother to ask because I know I'll never get an answer. It is helpful, however, to ask for assistance to DO what has been asked. That help will come in strange and quick ways AS THE THING IS DONE.

Strangely, there are times when in the course of doing a thing God has asked or promised - one sees plainly the advantage of it. This happens more often than not - after the fact rather than before.

It is not given to man to know the future of things other than what one might normally expect from life experience. Therefore when God asks or commands a thing it sometimes takes us outside of our experience - our comfort zone. It is not outside God's experience, just ours. He knows and we don't. It is best to give God the benefit of the doubt. In the end, God reckons this sort of obedience by faith as righteousness.

and that's me, hollering from the choir loft...

Hi choir loft ,
Something I wish to add to the above.

1. Scripture tells us We are to walk by Faith.
2. Scripture tells us we can Not Please God out side of Faith.

Bottom Line......if you have to know why before you will do it.......then you have Not Trusted God through Faith.

It's called walking by faith Not walking with all the answers.

Thank you for the awesome Reminder.
Blessings
FCJ
