This is NOT about Jesus dying on the cross … and presto, all believers’ sins are forgiven!
No, this is all about …
● Jesus FREEING BACs from the bondage of sin
● The fact that BACs no longer HAVE to sin
● The fact that BACs are now FREE to NOT sin
●●● If BACs do sin, it is because they have CHOSEN to sin (with our God-given free will)

THE FACTS
Romans 6:6a -
our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives
6:6b - we are no longer slaves to sin
6:7 - we were set free from the power of sin
6:10 - he died once to break the power of sin
6:11 - consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin
6:14 - sin is no longer your master
6:17 - once you were slaves of sin
6:18 - now you are free from your slavery to sin
6:20 - when you were slaves to sin …
6:22 - now you are free from the power of sin
7:6 - you are no longer captive to its power (the law of sin and death)
8:2 - the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to (eternal) death
8:3 - God declared an end to sin’s control over us
8:9 - you are not controlled by your sinful nature
8:12 - you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do

THE INSTRUCTIONS
6:12-13 - Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires.
Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin.
6:19 - Now you must give yourselves to be slaves to righteous living so that you will become holy.
6:22 - do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life.

THE WARNINGS
6:16 - Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you CHOOSE to obey?
You can be a slave to sin, which leads to (eternal) death, or …
6:23 - For the wages of sin is (eternal) death …
7:13 - So we can see how terrible sin really is.
8:6 - So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to (eternal) death.
8:13a - For if you live by its (the sinful nature’s) dictates, you will die (eternally).

THE SOLUTION
8:13b - But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live (eternally).

Yes, through the power of the precious Holy Spirit, you are able to overcome sin and receive eternal life.
Jesus’ definition of an overcomer …
To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne,
as I overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.” (Revelation 3:21)

What did Jesus overcome? … Sin, the world, the devil, eternal death, etc.

●●● If BACs do sin, it is because they have CHOSEN to sin (with our God-given free will)

Not a 100 percent true.
Many Believers including yourself do things daily and have no idea it's sin.

As we grow we find more and more things we must remove and or change within ourselves.

A huge problem is when a Believer judges another believer guilty of sin and this particular believer may not even know it is a sin yet.

In this case God the Father is not holding it against them. He does not hold against us what we clearly do not know or understand.

Scripture defines sin as...Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

The key here is KNOW.

Yes, through the power of the precious Holy Spirit, you are able to overcome sin and receive eternal life.

We received eternal life in Heaven with the Father the instant we were made new creatures in Christian by getting Spiritually Born Again.

If a person never develops to overcome all sin in their lives does not take away their eternal destiny with the Father in Heaven.

I am not referring to those who mumble some words then ignore the Holy Spirit and do what ever they want.

I am talking about born again believers who struggle their entire life and miss the mark.

In most cases this is do to the Church not teaching in such a fashion that they could grow and develop to war in this life.

Blessings

Notice many times that 'sin' is singular. Our sin nature is sinful AND self righteous. And many of the commands in the bible are directly related to those who try to establish their own righteousness through 'sin'(our sin nature).

And in my neck of the woods, and in all my experience, the VAST majority have a pretty good lock on cleaning up their sin's, but are blind to the fact that they are trying to establish their own righteousness.

Rom 10:3~~New American Standard Bible
For not knowing about God's righteousness and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.

Philippians 3:9~~New American Standard Bible
and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith,

First, I have 20 NT verses which teach us that we must practice (or work) righteousness to actually be righteous.
And I have 20 NT verses which teach us that we must be obedient to actually be righteous.
Would you like to see them?

Second, we need to recognize and trust in the Father's righteousness and Jesus' righteousness
for the basis of our salvation!

See, the deal is this:
BACs received everything at the moment they received the Holy Spirit.
However, their part in all of this is to continue on with all of it.
And this is one of the reasons for all of the dozens of dire warnings.
Would you like to see a dozen of the very best NT verses which warn of losing salvation?

Praying every born again christian will have victory over sin! Yes Jesus gives us the victory and the ability to overcome! All we need to do is listen to Him and act on it!
For example, say your particular sin was fornication, just like the woman caught in adultery. Doesnt Jesus tell her shes forgiven not condemned and to sin no more? What do you think she does, go right back to the man shes fornicating with? I dont think so!

This is why confession of sin is important, its not the judging of others, because everyone judges everyone else, believers are the most judged of all people anyway, but recongnising the sin in ourselves and confessing it. To God or someone else. Remember again with the example of the woman caught in adultery. What were the men doing? Jesus said those without sin can cast the first stone. Nobody cast the stone. They were all guilty. Jesus saw this. They walked away ashamed of themselves. They needed to confess to their wives of any sin they harboured in their heart. You cant pretend you dont sin when you do.

In order to be righteous... We need to receive the process paid by our Savior .... He took our sins so that we could be looked upon by the Father as righteous (in right standing) what has been given by grace must be received by faith. And as Philippians 2:13 says it is the Father who dwells within us (the Holy Spirit) who gives us the power and the desire to do what pleases Him.

If we have to practice or work righteousness in order to be righteous.... Then Christ died for nothing and we are back ignoring Grace in order to earn it. In other words we have fallen from Grace.

So if you want to bring a few of the Scriptures in we can further discuss what they truly mean.

Obedience keeps the fellowship between us and the Father open. (1 John 1)

It's like a drain pipe. If there is nothing in it to block water from flowing it will flow strong and full. As soon as blockage occurs then the water preasure may slow down to a trickle or be cut off.

So it is with a Christ follower and The Holy Spirit. If we are walking in the light we have and judging ourselves when we miss it (repentance and forgiveness.. receiving cleansing from the unrighteousness that we partnered with) then the flow between the Father (via The Holy Spirit, and His ministering spirits (angels)) will remain steady and strong. However when sin and wrong thinking or believing are present... It clogs up the flow of the Blessing and fellowship with the Father and how much the Father can intervene in our lives. It also hinders our prayers.

Perhaps your use of these verses may need to be deepened because Jesus made us Righteous.

2 Corinthians 5:21
Amp
For our sake He made Christ [virtually] to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might become [endued with, viewed as being in, and examples of] the righteousness of God [what we ought to be, approved and acceptable and in right relationship with Him, by His goodness].

CJB
God made this sinless man be a sin offering on our behalf, so that in union with him we might fully share in God’s righteousness.”

NLT
21 For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

Your way borders on self righteousness or depending on self and selfs abilities.

No Friend - Christ made us Righteous

Okay, here's one copied from my righteousness page ...

“… let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous just as He is righteous.
He who sins is of the devil … Whoever has been born of God does not sin (habitually)
… In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest:
whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God” (1 John 3:7-10)

Notice who “the children of God” are vs. who belongs to Satan.

1 JOHN 3 (NKJV)
1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!
Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be,
but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.
5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.
6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.
7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.
8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning.
For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him;
and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest:
whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God
, nor is he who does not love his brother.
11 For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another,
12 not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother.
And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother’s righteous.
13 Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you.
14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren.
He who does not love his brother abides in death.
15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
16 By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us.
And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
17 But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need,
and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
18 My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.
19 And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him.
20 For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.
21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God.
22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments
and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.
23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ
and love one another, as He gave us commandment.
24 Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him.
And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

Should I do chapters 1, 2, 4, 5 also?

I like verse 24 ... it reminds me of John 14 where Jesus said (paraphrasing):
"Those who love me obey My commandments."
So, I have to ask: Who gets into heaven without loving Jesus?
and ... Who gets into heaven without obey Jesus' commandments?

Ok let's start off by looking at this passage in another translation...

Boys (lads), let no one deceive and lead you astray. He who practices righteousness [who is upright, conforming to the divine will in purpose, thought, and action, living a consistently conscientious life] is righteous, even as He is righteous. [But] he who commits sin [who practices evildoing] is of the devil [takes his character from the evil one], for the devil has sinned (violated the divine law) from the beginning. The reason the Son of God was made manifest (visible) was to undo (destroy, loosen, and dissolve) the works the devil [has done]. No one born (begotten) of God [deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] practices sin, for God's nature abides in him [His principle of life, the divine sperm, remains permanently within him]; and he cannot practice sinning because he is born (begotten) of God. By this it is made clear who take their nature from God and are His children and who take their nature from the devil and are his children: no one who does not practice righteousness [who does not conform to God's will in purpose, thought, and action] is of God; neither is anyone who does not love his brother (his fellow believer in Christ).
1 John 3:7‭-‬10 AMPC

In my studies and from asking The Holy Spirit a lot about this passage (whole book really) and chapter 1... I believe the Holy Spirit showed me that the difference between the two is believer vs non believer. One that is truly saved vs.. one just playing church. Also I believe that these passages and the whole book speak to the condition or attitude of the heart.

The believer or Christ follower has the Holy Spirit in them and if they truly know or even grasp how much they're loved by the Father ... Along with Him dwelling in them and working from the inside out... Will not go out and sin habitually on purpose without any guilt or remorse. They are going to do everything in their power to resist sin

Yes they may fall down and miss the mark but their heart is genuine before the Lord. Yet their flesh has not been trained to submit yet. Which is why we must not judge another person on what they know or don't know based upon what we know (have revelation knowledge on) or don't know. We may have more light than someone else and that other person is not judged based upon the understanding or light that they don't have yet. God only judges them based upon what they understand to be wrong. And even then if they have not understood how to get the flesh to submit... They will have grace from the Father, if they're truly seeking help to change, and even if they're not... The Holy Spirit is still there beckoning. Changes in God's kingdom and ways is always from the inside out... So again we may not see it on the outside.
Another thing to recognize is that we also have an enemy who is the accuser of the brethren. And if he can get this person to grab ahold of condemnation, they also will have a difficult time changing. Why? Because the devil has convinced them that they either have no power and that he (or the sin) is stronger or that God is mad at them and there is no hope ... Basically there is no cure or no way of escape. And we know from 1 Corinthians 10:13 that God always provides away out.
