Plants in your churchyard?

Hello rtm3039,

its ok. I've done it at times myself.

I volunteered workdays at church, cleaning, painting and pulling weeds and built a playground. It was not the work but the love and fellowship with my church family.

Grass, flowers and trees grow. Weeds have to be pulled. Grounds and Maintenance ministries need funding because they are only glorifying the Lord with His Creation and Beauty of His temple (church building.)

Its wonderful when we attend church and the surroundings are well trimmed. We are honoring God's Creation.

God bless you and your family.
Out church is very clean. The grounds are kept via volunteers. Not as much vegetation (fruit bearing trees), but a very relaxing place. In one of the below pics (lowest one), you can even see the small pool used for baptisms.

I normally do the 6pm Saturday service and the two morning services (9am - 12:30) services on Sunday. It was a full house today.

Gorgeous RTM. Is this florida?
Very subtropical. I was hoping to plant some bananas at church but alas...pastor and church board dont want any..they rather keep the weeds and grass.

What are the pink flowers? I see you've got monstera there. Great plants. And bromeliads.

Hi Lanolin,

I have no idea what the pink flowers are. I have a hard time telling the difference between grass and weeds. We have bananas and pineapples at the house:

Hey, its still growing but gone a bit wild. It wasn't mine though, I left that church cos they were rather mean about doing anything more for it. We even had funding but they didn't allow me to buy any more plants or materials for the garden.

One of the elders there died who was helping me, and the only other elder helping got into her head she wanted to spray weedkiller, and I just said no. I can't be around anyone who does that.

The new fellowship I'm started going to do look after their gardens they actually have someone living on site and the children even plant sweet peas and veges. :) . They even have working bees that people go and help with the garden in other locations.

I could not get anyone interested in the other church, when we did have a composting workshop it had to be at someone elses' home and two of the elders that were around were really anti-garden cos it just seemed like more work to them. So I had to let go of it.
