These take the cake...........and they can keep them!!!

Those cakes reminded me of the time we made deviled eggs to look like peeps for Easter dinner. We made them the day before and used candied sprinkles for the eyes......but overnight in the fridge the color of the candy eyes ran. They ended up looking like Halloween peeps.............

Oh, My - Looks like some of them 'lamb cakes' might of been stepped on by Mr. Moose - how else would they get them bug eyes?

My cousin Bubba hit a Possum once with his pickup truck and it kind of looked like that. Sure was tasty, though.

Y'all have a good day, now.

Yuck PaducahLuke. That so reminds me of a time my brother came down to visit years ago when my late fiancé was alive.
Roadkill is not meant for the table, but he didnt think so either. Someone hit a deer on our road, and he decided it was fair game during hunting season.
Apparently, it was still warm so they sliced, diced, and grinded the night away. I wouldnt eat any of it, cause I didnt know exactly how it died.
They raved about how delicious the burgers were on the grill. Yuck.

That reminds me. My second cousin, Billy Bob, his wife and six kids have fallen on hard times. He lost his job and the unemployment money ain't enough to feed the family. Billy Bob was out huntin' to put food on the table, and shot a Federally protected Loon out by the lake. A Warden seen this and arrested Billy Bob. He was taken in to see the Judge and the Judge asked him why he shot a Loon? Billy Bob told the Judge about loosin' his job and all, and how he was havin' trouble feedin' the kids. The Judge felt sorry for Billy Bob and was thinkin' about just givin' him a warning. Then the Judge said, "Off the record, what does Loon taste like." Billy Bob looked up at the Judge, and said, "Well, sir, it tastes a lot like Eagle."

Billy Bob is due for parole in October, 2027.

Good morning to my BEAUTIFUL and MOST PRECIOUS Forum FAMILY...

I am back... from a very difficult April.... which is a polite way of saying.... LIFE happened LOUDLY. :D
To Pastor Gary and Cosia ... My heart THANKS you both for being there for me during this challenging time.
Your love and encouragement got me through this experience. I love you both so very much.

I won't bother getting into the nitty gritty details of what occurred... as the details are not as important as...WHAT it did to me... which is completely KNOCK me OFF my GROOVE.
If you visualize one of those automatic ball throwing machines that spit out the balls at warp speed... and YEP.... that is what happened.... and I LIVED to tell about it. HAHA.

I'm not sure where to find this in scripture.... However... I know that you all know what I'm talking about.... and this is the beauty of this place... called the CABIN.... sometimes it simply becomes a journal of reflection. Little gems of truth in between the pages of laughter and silliness.... and so... this is one of those contributions.

Re-establishing peace and joy after an ASSAULT and ATTEMPT to have it taken away from you and STOLEN. That place of DARKNESS that suddenly fills a soul that had good intentions to help and have it all back-fire in seconds.
That place of having given another chance... only to realize a situation is STILL TOXIC after a decade... and that you must once again WALK away... but this time... there is an ANGER that is so close to RAGE... because it wasn't me that opened that door. I was minding my own business... and living in great peace and joy... and that is my FAMILY.

And so.... such is life. I don't quite understand why I needed a reminder of the above... however... there is a purpose to everything under the sun... and so instead of questioning WHY... I am simply GRATEFUL that this Saturday morning... my PEACE and JOY are INTACT... and my heart is filled with such THANKFULNESS for this.

It took over a week of decompressing.... WORSHIPPING... PRAYING... and simply getting through the days... not knowing how I would possibly be able to jump back as a JOYFUL soul. That experience has reminded me that MY PEACE and JOY... comes from JESUS... my BEAUTIFUL and MOST PRECIOUS SAVIOUR. The formula is quite simple... yet difficult when the NOISES of the world are too LOUD.... and I guess that was my challenge this last week was to SHUT OFF the noise so that I could simply DWELL in the PRESENCE of ALMIGHTY GOD.

If you notice that I am a bit GREYER... It's because my status as the black sheep of my family has been re-instated and highlighted with several exclamation marks. HAHA.

I have missed you all very much... and I am so happy that the Cabin stayed warm and cozy in my absence.

My lake is nicely melting... my window sill of pots are overflowing with GREEN-ness and the temperatures are starting to get into the double digits on the plus side during the afternoons.... so..... IT is WELL with my SOUL.

THE LAKE has broken...... I REPEAT.... the Lake has BROKEN.

There must be a technical term for that but I just call it broken.... meaning when the water finally flows freely and the ice is GONE....... That happened two days ago... and I did my HAPPY DANCE.... plus ran to the neighbours to DECLARE that the LAKE was BACK..... HAHAHA. My neighbours have learned to EXPECT my very silly gestures through out the year... and so they simply CASUALLY open their door.... watch me do my song and dance and then.... we all move on. HAHAHA. I think they secretly enjoy my little gestures of silliness and JOYFUL NOISE.

Anyways.... lots of work to be done. I have to wait until we have a few dry days before attempting to RAKE the gazillions of dead leaves and pine needles. That is the LEAST fun of all spring jobs.

Just wanted to do a quick check-in. I am being picked up for coffee in THREE minutes... HA.

Have a WONDERFUL DAY my beautiful FORUM FAMILY.

I guess saying "my lake has broken" is better than "my water has broken"........................................o_O
English is such an interesting language......

Good morning my beautiful forum family...

I cannot believe it is the last day of April already..... WINTER is GONE... however... the warmth seems to be on DELAY.
We have had a few double digit days on the plus side...but the cooler temps do not appear to want to RETREAT.

Anyways... QUIET week.... and I'm just waiting for the sun to come out so that the leaves and pine needles can dry before I attempt to bag them all. That will be my week-end task.

The Cabin is stocked up.... the shovels have been put in the shed.... and we are all set to go for a wonderful and fun-filled SUMMER.

That overflowing plant is a nasturtium.... Last year I discovered the BEAUTY of this plant... as it overflows like a waterfall and is filled with a hue of yellow... orange and bright orange flowers. I already had to transplant it because it grew so fast.... I still have at least 3 weeks before planting outside... however..... my flowers are going in pots.... so as soon as I get my potting soil.... I will be able to plant it in it's "forever home" HAHA.

The other picture is tomatoes.... CHOCOLATE CHERRY TOMATOES..... and I have three plants of the normal Rutgers tomatoes. Sadly.... this year.... only ONE pepper plant took... so that is something I will buy at the nursery.

I have oodles of pansies which makes me very happy because they are my favourite.

At my cabin in the spring, it is deafening.

The enjoyment of Canadian Geese. At home, we get 50 in a flock. They are protected and they know it. pure attitude!
