It did come in handy on a couple of occasions.If so, what style, and do you see any danger into getting into say a style that really gets into eastern religious mindset like say some schools of Kung Fu would ?

That's really up to your comfort level. Some schools focus heavily on chi, for example Tai chi or Aikido.
