Does your church have armed security guards now?

Interesting, do we ever read of the Apostles / disciples using their swords ot teaching us to do the same?
No.

In Luke 22: 35-38 Jesus told the disciples told to buy swords as weapon?

However, in In Matthew 25:52 we see........ “For all who take the sword will perish by the sword”. Is there a contradiction here????? NO!

As with all the Scriptures, we must always apply CONTEXT to correctly understand what is being said. Here in Luke 22, Jesus's instruction to buy a sword was not a call to violence or rebellion, but a sober reminder that they were entering a dangerous and uncertain time.

Still, the Bible does acknowledge the right to self-defense in certain situations as seen in and Jesus’ words in Luke 22:36 reflects the reality that His followers would need to be prepared for hardship, including physical danger.

In those days, robbers were everywhere as were lions and bears along the roads.

Same as today. As believers today, we are called to be wise, peaceful, and courageous. We are to rely on God’s provision and stand firm in the truth of the gospel, putting on the full armor of God but we are also to be prepared for things that may come our way.

I don't consider myself a pacifist... "pointing finger at YOU" for giving me a LABEL. HAHA. :D
My opinion is not based on any sort of conviction as a Christian.

The only guns I have ever seen are hunting rifles and I have seen the smaller guns in the holsters of police officers and the BRINKS men who deliver and pick up money from the banks.

Our countries are simply different. I would rather be the victim of a crime... then one who has killed someone. That I believe is God's job to decide.
I understand sis. I really do! I was not calling u a pacifist at all and if you took it that way I apologize.

Now......think about this a minute. It is easy to say ......"I would rather be the victim of a crime... then one who has killed someone".....
Are YOU sure??? You see, it is easy to say that now, but what about at 2:00 AM with a man holding a knife at you baby girls throat demanding your wallet??????

We can say......"That will never happen to me. or God will protect me"......but is has happened over and over all the time.

I completely understand that position! I really do, however, the other side of that page is found in 1 Timothy 5:8.......
"People who don't take care of their relatives, and especially their own families, have given up their faith. They are worse than someone who doesn't have faith in the Lord."
Also consider........in Ecclesiastes 3:3, we are told that......." there is “a time to kill and a time to heal.”

That tells us that there are situations in which it may be necessary to use force in order to protect our loved ones. In these cases, owning a gun for self-defense may be a practical and responsible choice. and it is one of those things where we must decide NOW what we will do THEN without praying when that event takes place.

What I mean is that today, right now, I have already made the decision on what I will do at 2:00 AM when Daisey wakes me up and alerts me that someone has broken into our home. When she barks, and I look at the broken window, I do not have to pray to God to ask Him what it is I need to do to protect my wife.

I was baffled that people would actually protest! Crime at an all time high and the president resolves to do something about it and people are upset.
Same here.

I have been overwhelmed at those people in all cities that are protesting the authorities removing "Convicted Murders, child rapists and molesters" living next door to them.

Then I realized that they are NOT protesting the removal of felons, they are protesting anything that President Trump does! TDS!

As President Obama said and those who hate Mr. Trump are easy to forget......."Elections have consequences"!

President Trump is doing exactly what he said he was going to do and I for one voted for him for that reason. Say what you will do that do what you said you will do!

Im dont consider myself a gun person but I don't have anything against guns or persons owning one. And as an AMERICAN, If I were to have a gun it definitely would be a V3 tactic-13.

I understand but I will tell you TWO facts of life that I think you will agree with.

1. The next best thing to owning a truck is having a friend who owns a truck!
2. The best thing to have at 2:00 AM when there is someone trying to get in your back door.....is a neighbor with a gun who know how to use it!

I have a weird relationship with guns. I was raised by a man who was a WWII Marine, Pastor, and State Trooper. His phase was always "I can pray for you, I can pray with you, or I can pray over you". I learned very early exactly how to use a gun. I wouldn't have thought much about needing to use one.

Now...I don't really know. I end up being somewhat neutral on the subject....well, about MOST subject these days. But, there are a LOT of guns around me. Every neighbor that I have met or talked to has one, or three. Most would come running to my aid at the first hint that they were needed. Most are retired military or law enforcement. A few have been itching for the opportunity, which also kinda scares me.

I would be haunted by guilt for the rest of my life if I was responsible, even indirectly for a deadly outcome. At the same time, I would be eternally grateful that my family was saved from a criminal who let that his wants be more important that the needs of my family.

Also, my church has several officers in the congregation that are always armed. Some in uniform. That is literally the safest place to be is someone decides they want to try something foolish.

HAHA... My comment was meant to be a joke.

YES Major... I am absolutely sure.... At this point in my life... it is only me.... and if someone is intent on causing me harm... I surrender my soul to the Lord. The one who has harmed me will eventually have to come to terms with that.
Would I try to AVOID harm to myself?? OF course I would.... but more so along the lines of trying to escape the area.
If someone has a knife at my throat or a weapon pointed at me... then... I am having a conversation with the LORD... as well as the person
who wishes me harm. I am good with this.

LOL!

I am reminded of the line from the Wyatt Erp movie where he is facing about 12 men standing by their outlaw leader, Johhny Ringo and he asked him----are you afraid to die? To that Ringo says NO. Mr. Erp then says....good, you die 1st.

Hey brother!

We all need to remember that we now live in a time where extreme Muslims believe that the door to heaven opens when they kill Christians.
Then we have mentally ill people who should be incarcerated but now the law does not allow it until they murder someone.
