1611 KJV vs Today

YF you lost me on this one.

Generally I can see your directionality.

???
For the KJVO person to be able to claim that the Kjv was and is perfect and last and only translation for us to use, they would have to see the Holy Spirit inspired them to translate into English same way he inspired bible writers to write down the books of the canon

I recently learned that the 1611 KJV contained the Apocrypha between the Old and New Testaments but those books were gradually dropped for various reasons over the subsequent centuries.
In my mind that's why it's vital to have a gifted bible teacher. I found one in Dr. Gene Scott in 1987.

He amassed the largest bible collection in private hands behind the Vatican, and that's what he taught from. Being a teachers teacher in all the languages, he would bring out a dozen different bibles from different languages, and show which one got it right or the closest to right.

He graduated in 2005, and passed his mantle to his wife melissa Scott. It's now Dr. melissa Scott, and she now has that collection and has been teaching from it for 20 years.. She speaks over 20 languages , specializing in punctuation.

Because they are the only ones I've ever heard that teach what the application of pisteuo is correctly, they are the only ones i trust with anything Scriptural.

What was his theology, was he word of faith?

The names of different theologies is probably the weakest part of my walk, that just never interested me.

He always described himself as a "Pro testant." Loved CS Lewis, martin Luther, If he was asked what kind of Christian Faith he was, he would often say he's a Jesus man.

Good morning, faither;

Just a couple of my thoughts from reading your good post. Do many of us stop to think and imagine, our Christian walk of never establishing a gifted Bible teacher?

As a 17 year old Teen Challenge was huge in the mid-70s. The Pastors wore jeans, t-shirts, sandals and had long hair. I could relate to these ministers because I also wore jeans, had a Grand Funk t-shirt with dingo boots (remember them?) and long hair.

Mark Farner from Flint, MI, was the lead singer and guitarist for Grand Funk Railroad, gave his life to Jesus in 1985.

But one minister stood out. A Catholic priest, Father Caldwell, who served and taught at a Catholic Church and school. When I passed by we would exchange hellos and talk for a few minutes. We didn't discuss the Gospel but his disposition was that of salt and light, a spirit of trust and a great sense of humor. He would end with, "Jesus loves you!" That went a long way with me who was trying to finish one more year of high school. I still remember him to this day.

My nephew who lived with us since he was 3, just turned 22 last month, He was raised in children's ministry, youth group and is praying to help with the sound system on Sundays. He attends a very small Bible study for young adults and listening to him participate and share reminds me of the application of Pisteuo - a deeper meaning of belief with Christ Jesus. I feel he is on his way with this discipline of growing intimately with Christ.

I was and am still blessed with gifted Bible teachers that the Lord has sent my way. I only hope my nephew will receive the same blessing.

God bless everyone.

Bob
