Paul does teach about the first resurretion and what happens to us believers, but it also alludes to the fact that while we are in this body, we are in effect "away from the Lord", and so when we die and shed our bodies, we will be with Him. The first resurrection is all about getting our new bodies.

Verse 9 gives us an inkling about how we will be with the Lord outside of our earthly bodies when we die, and still without the new glorified bodies we will receive at the resurrection.

We do not have a spirit body. We do however have flesh bodies. Man is not a spirit, rather man has a spirit because of the breath of life. Gen 2:7, Eccl 12:7.

The judgment seat... Rev 20:4

Correct, 2 Cor 5:10. We do not have a spirit body. We do however have flesh bodies. Man is not a spirit, rather man has a spirit because of the breath of life. Gen 2:7, Eccl 12:7.

We are spirit beings who live in flesh and bone bodies. When we leave these bodies, our spirits go to God--that is, if we have received Jesus Christ.

The spirit you are talking about is the human spirit---the soul of man, which is comprised of his mind, will, emotions, and personality. The spirit where God dwells is the spirit that comes alive, activated by faith in Jesus Christ.

Solomon had the right idea:

Ecclesiastes 12:7
Then shall the dust [out of which God made man’s body] return to the earth as it was, and the spirit shall return to God Who gave it.

Yes we are spirit beings, not spirit bodies. We are only spirit beings because of the breath of life given to us. Eccl 12:7 is saying that the breath of life is taken out of us upon death. In conclusion, we cannot live without the breath of life. Take a look at Job 34:14-15 NIV If it were his intention and he withdrew his spirit and breath, 15all humanity would perish together and mankind would return to the dust.

We have spiritual bodies that we cannot see, but when we leave our bodies, that is what we will have.

Spiritual bodies is not scriptural Euphemia. Breath and wind is not a body, it is simply breath and wind. That is all.
How do we live when the breath of life is taken out of us Eccl 12:7. That wouldn't make sense.

Yeah it is. Christians do not die, although their bodies do. Every single believer except for Enoch and Elijah are in heaven in their spirit bodies, enjoying their Lord Jesus Christ, who also is in His glorified flesh body. They will receive the same kind of body at the resurrection.

We do not have two bodies. Eccl 12:7 says the breath of life is taken out of us. So how do believers continue to live in heaven without the breath of life, since God is the source of life?

2 Tim 4:3-4 NIV For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

Your view on breath and wind is still very vague. Yes God breathed life into adam.
It's not meant to be likened to wind from a fan or breath as air.
Is the Holy spirit air or breath or as spirit ? If you say air or breath then why would God call it the Holy Spirit and NOT say receive thy Holy Breath ? Why did I say this ?
Because Jesus Breathed on the diciples and said receive the Holy Spirit.

When a man is turned away from God on judgment day.........and is off to his eternity in hell.
What suffers ? His old rotted away flesh which is only A ERARTH SUIT whiches houses the spirit......No the spirit of man will suffer for the spirit of God can not suffer in hell but then again if the man had the spirit of God in him he would not be turned away.

I believe if you do a solid research in Greek and Hebrew and so forth you will find a different meaning for breath of God.......Just like word is things when you dig into it. Word things....Hmmm word things......this would apply that words are not simply just words and have no true meaning or power....Hmmmm go figure

I believe God's breath is just that, it is breath and wind. This breath and wind gives LIFE. So no, this is not the breath and wind from a fan. Fans do not give life. Scripture clearly tells us that God breathes LIFE into us and then takes LIFE out of us at death.

Gen 2:7 NIV Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
Job 34:14-15 NIV If it were his intention and he withdrew his spirit and breath, 15all humanity would perish together and mankind would return to the dust.

ATP so many people are using this scripture for their own purpose these days. Any time they find some one teaching something they do not believe then they automatically snag this scripture to prove their point. Too many of the times it was not false teaching but rather the one hearing with no spiritual understanding of what is being taught.

Every one is quick to throw this scripture around as if it saves their beliefs or proves them correct. Funny thing how the devil you know satan that father of lies knows scripture better then most believers. Ohhhh now you went and done it....Spoke heresy and how dare I make such a statement as this.....Well let me tell you why...............

If a person would actually wake up and view history within the church they would LEARN A PATTERN of things in which the devil has operated over all these years. The devil hood winks you into thinking things to be true thaty are not true. Watch............Over the years we have seen the morals change a little at a time. We have seen prayer taken out of school but it was not prayer but speaking the name of Jesus that is not aloud for you can pray a curse over anything and it is ok in school. ( Go see who it was that caused all this ) One atheist person against the entire body of Christ... sad

MY POINT....... The devil sets the stage ever so slowly for every piece of his plan. The devil is not stupid and is the best at what he does and has many years of working things out to fit his plan. The devil is setting things up for his time. It is not like the devil is just a bound adversary and can do nothing but wait for his time. That idea is a foolish way to get killed.

All across the land the body of Christ is seen fighting over different beliefs and contrary to what some think, this is not correct or the way it is to be. Think for a moment please.....if you were the devil and wanted to defeat Christians and the Word of God where would you attack?
Those ministries who have no threat level against his (devils) plans or those ministries who are a threat to him and again the devil ?

You would attack those who will cause you more harm...........so who would be better to use then using christians against Christians....what a well thought out strategy this is. Think about it it, preparing for his reign or time. Getting things SET UP FOR his DAY AND GREAT DECEPTION.

In the last days many will follow false ways...........hmmm follow who ? why of course the devil.......now then how can the devil get born again believers to follow his or false ways ?
Well it will have to look and sound pretty good and it cant be something that pops up out of the blue to look so true.

So what could have helped in this time of deception............do you think that perhaps the devil might have been working all along setting himself up for this day ? What a thought.

Look at the patterns of the way things have gone from day one until now. It is easy to see. Get Christians busy fighting over what is correct and get them to claim and destroy what is correct and has been BEING RELEASED FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS. OH YEA BROTHER EVEN GOD HAS BEEN RELEASING REVELATION KNOWLEDGE OF HIS WRITTEN WORD JUST FOR THIS TIME.

Blessings

That is the point.........YOU BELIEVE........now then what does the word of God say about this beyond how you believe or another words.........what are the true meanings of these words?
That makes all the difference.

The true meanings of the words are written in Hebrew and Greek.
The Word of God was written in Hebrew and Greek.
That's not only what I believe, that is what the Word of God says.
There is no way around this.

Eccl 12:7 NIV and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

And scripture is clear, as to the breath of life. Blessings, ATP.

I guess we get to finish our talk here !! (y)
Have a great night APT and if I do not reply quick it does not mean I quit but am getting ready for a study in His word and will be leaving soon.

Do you know how to look up Hebrew and Greek translations on biblehub.com ?

We are three: body, soul and spirit.

When the body gives up its spirit, that spirit lives on. Spirits don't need air to breathe in order to live. Only the flesh requires breath.

Correct, but the only reason we have a spirit and a soul is because of the breath of life, and the breath of life is removed upon death.

No, the breath of life was breathed into Adam for physical life. Apart from the physical life, the spirit lives on. You are only focusing on physical life.
