Paul does teach about the first resurretion and what happens to us believers, but it also alludes to the fact that while we are in this body, we are in effect "away from the Lord", and so when we die and shed our bodies, we will be with Him. The first resurrection is all about getting our new bodies.
Verse 9 gives us an inkling about how we will be with the Lord outside of our earthly bodies when we die, and still without the new glorified bodies we will receive at the resurrection.
The judgment seat... Rev 20:4
We do not have a spirit body. We do however have flesh bodies. Man is not a spirit, rather man has a spirit because of the breath of life. Gen 2:7, Eccl 12:7.
We are spirit beings who live in flesh and bone bodies. When we leave these bodies, our spirits go to God--that is, if we have received Jesus Christ.
The spirit you are talking about is the human spirit---the soul of man, which is comprised of his mind, will, emotions, and personality. The spirit where God dwells is the spirit that comes alive, activated by faith in Jesus Christ.
Solomon had the right idea:
Ecclesiastes 12:7
Then shall the dust [out of which God made man’s body] return to the earth as it was, and the spirit shall return to God Who gave it.
Ecclesiastes 12:7 Then shall the dust [out of which God made man’s body] return to the earth as it was, and the spirit (the breath of life) shall return to God Who gave it.
Yes we are spirit beings, not spirit bodies. We are only spirit beings because of the breath of life given to us. Eccl 12:7 is saying that the breath of life is taken out of us upon death. In conclusion, we cannot live without the breath of life. Take a look at Job 34:14-15 NIV If it were his intention and he withdrew his spirit and breath, 15all humanity would perish together and mankind would return to the dust.
We have spiritual bodies that we cannot see, but when we leave our bodies, that is what we will have.
Spiritual bodies is not scriptural Euphemia. Breath and wind is not a body, it is simply breath and wind. That is all.
How do we live when the breath of life is taken out of us Eccl 12:7. That wouldn't make sense.
Yeah it is. Christians do not die, although their bodies do. Every single believer except for Enoch and Elijah are in heaven in their spirit bodies, enjoying their Lord Jesus Christ, who also is in His glorified flesh body. They will receive the same kind of body at the resurrection.

Your view on breath and wind is still very vague. Yes God breathed life into adam.
It's not meant to be likened to wind from a fan or breath as air.
2 Tim 4:3-4 NIV For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.
I believe God's breath is just that, it is breath and wind. This breath and wind gives LIFE. So no, this is not the breath and wind from a fan. Fans do not give life. Scripture clearly tells us that God breathes LIFE into us and then takes LIFE out of us at death.
Gen 2:7 NIV Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
Job 34:14-15 NIV If it were his intention and he withdrew his spirit and breath, 15all humanity would perish together and mankind would return to the dust.
Eccl 12:7 NIV and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

That is the point.........YOU BELIEVE........now then what does the word of God say about this beyond how you believe or another words.........what are the true meanings of these words?
That makes all the difference.

We do not have two bodies. Eccl 12:7 says the breath of life is taken out of us. So how do believers continue to live in heaven without the breath of life, since God is the source of life?
We are three: body, soul and spirit.
Correct, but the only reason we have a spirit and a soul is because of the breath of life, and the breath of life is removed upon death.
